- I still CANNOT believe I'm here, after months of anticipation and suspense. I finally moved into my dorm at UChicago, and I absolutely love it. It took me a few days to edit this simply because looking at the footage made me miss my family and home, but I'm settling in and now this whole video makes me smile. I hope it makes you smile as well, and whether you're at college or at home, have a fantastic week!

By far the best video to date - so REAL, full of joy and sadness.
It’s hard going off to school especially when everyone is so disconnected because of COVID. I remember I cried to my dad the first week, but my school and friends eventually became my home and I didn’t go home even on breaks! Congrats on your acceptances!
I have seen many videos like this but this is the best one.
I will be coming to United States as international student next year.

Ahhhh I cried at the end. I'm going to college this coming August and I'm going to miss my family. Idk how I'm going to make friends or what the future has planned for me, but as long as I have my piano I think I'll be alright. A wonderful vlog. Making a road trip next week from California to Denver, and just graduated in 2020 from uchicago. So definitely can relate to all the experiences in the video. All the best while at uchicago and please keeping making more videos!

I wish I did the same thing as you did when I drove m daughter to U Chicago years ago from New England. Same region hahaha. I feel you. When I hugged my daughter goodbye after helping her to settle down in I-House, I hold my tears until I turned around. She had graduated from UChicago before COVID hit US. I missed the campus so much. Although I had been there 5 or 6 times, I never got bored of those gorgeous buildings.
Aw the goodbyes are really the hardest part about college! I don't think I'll ever get used to saying bye to my family whenever I return to campus. And I agree - it's impossible to get bored of the buildings here!

Haha! UChicago isn't in the Ivy League, but there is definitely a TON of ivy on the buildings - it's beautiful!!
awesome video, after getting a scholarship or after financial aid do e have to pay for hostel and living stuff , I am from INDIA I literally don't know anything.
It depends on the financial aid package you get from the college! Some people here pay for room and board while other people get help from their scholarships or financial aid packages. I hope that this helps!

You don't seem like the sports jock type and so I am surprised you end up at Max P but I guess housing lottery is random this year. Well at least you don't have to walk across Midway everyday. If not for COVID, I think it would be a sure bet most first years would be thrown into Woodlawn.

@@MakaylaMacGregor Your mom waved at you with all the empty boxes, because you couldn't even go outside to help her to the car. Such a sad farewell. Covid rules are becoming increasingly more fascist... Your mom had to drive back alone 1000 miles? That is terrible!
@@viewer7200 I know, it was really hard for me to see her go knowing she had all that way ahead of her. Fortunately she is home safely now :)
So why did you pick UChicago? Stay safe there...don't get sucked into anything stupid...not that you would. Just be careful! Run all your decisions past your parents...they're so cute and seem very wise!
