A lot of hard work and repetetive drawing stop taking credit from people amd saying its talent when talent doesnt really exist and we all know it, its not like he was born as a child with this superpower called talent he just loved to do it and practised a lot.
My Lord... I think i'll never have enough of Jim's drawings. I fell in love with American Comic when i red Batman:Hush that he has drew drawings for. That's unbeliveable how amazing his artworks look . I'd love to draw as good as he does someday.
@skankhunt42 This isn't required, you shouldn't force yourself to do it everyday. You can improve just as well by drawing as a hobby whenever you're inspired or bored.
@skankhunt42 8 months of about 50 mins drawing time a day, (50 cuz I might have 0 a day and 2 hours the next, although generally 50), I used to draw like a kid, now however, I may (not always) pass for a professional artist's work Then again, I'm still 14 so my stuff kinda still needs time
This comment is a year late but drawing everyday doesn't make u better u have to learn how to draw perspective and anatomy and all that other fun stuff and when u start learning all different techniques that's when u draw everyday so u learn and practice then without a doubt you'll definitely become better and improve

Jim @15:50: the tip of the gun has a special mussel flash that-kinda looks like an alien..... Me: hand? Tool? Prong? Whatever it is-it must resemble something cool! Jim: ....um.......pooper scooper
“Alien Pooper-Scooper!” That’s def the barrel, yes, very good description Jim! Fantastic as always. What’s really amazing is that put in so much time (essentially drawing everything!!!)you’ve drawn so much, so many different things, from Superheroes, consisting of every different sized bodies, Of course the Image Comic days saw lots and lots of pouches!!!!!!!… Which I loved back then. I remember mimicking that when I was a young teenager. But, Wielding that brush like a true pro, you can truly say that the fact that you’ve drawn vehicles and buildings and just so many different Objects and characters, that you can pull it out of your head without reference. That is true mastery! Well done Jim,
this is priceless. i can't believe im able to learn from one of the greatest artist. Jim was consistantly ranked #1 comic artist and mcfarlane behind...maybe they switched now and then spots but it's been awhile. what a time to be alive.
The band on the helmet was used to attach foliage and other items for camouflage. GIs also wrote their names on them to identify their equipment since everyone has the same things if your name is on it you know its yours
in order to become an amazing artist like this you first have to develop the ability to handle not completely erasing and wiping away the eraser bits before you continue drawing again
@Sota Possu No, you can't learn the fundamentals if you doubt your ability. If you doubt your ability and erase it you won't even be able to convince yourself and learn the fundamentals.

The uniform is essentially correct. There wasn't a big change from WWII, Korea to Vietnam and even the cold war with the issuing of BDUs. Guys did wear a flak jacket.
Just a quick question, how do you decide where to out the cross hatch and hatched lines for shading (not the scruff or hair) and why do you use a brush to ink? Just curious 😊

At this level of talent, I’ve always wondered if such an artist like Mr. Lee, ever truly feels the drawing is finished?

Usually how most art pieces are made. Always a rough sketch first and the details are for last
