    This is so well done. I can only imagine how horrifying this would be. Losing your home, your heirlooms, your freedom, family, your autonomy ... it's almost too horrible to take it all in.
    It's heartbreaking.

    The women at Rabensbruk hid a group that were slated to be killed until the end of the war! This just shows you what women can do together!

      Yes, at least the camp prisoner women, they came together to fight the injustice that they were facing! Those women deserve all the recognition they can get!!!
      As for the Nazi guards at Ravensbruck (and other camps), those women did something together, which was torture, terrorize, and kill as many prisoners as they could. And they were said to be even more brutal than the male Nazi guards. Let that sink in.

    Note about video comment near the end of this documentary. I am a male, military historian. It is true the male historians of my grandparents' and parents' generation ignored the type of Ravensbrück history told in this documentary. However, it is no longer the 20th century. If there exists funding units, grants, or other financial resources, I am ready to write a complete history of Ravensbrück, from its inception to the deportations, encampments, enslavement, tortures, personal writings/diaries, experiences, all the way to the Nuremberg trials, Doctors' trials, and war crimes trials. I am a male historian who is committed to this history, only lacking the financial independence that allows one to commit fully to this project, a project that requires 100% devotion and not a piecemeal effort conducted from one's home office on the west coast of the United States. It requires travel and in-depth field research in Europe. I am a male historian ready to capture this history.

    Women in the resistance of any country who weren’t shot or hung when they were arrested were sent to Ravensbrück were imprisoned in different parts of the camp until they were murdered. They were regularly or periodically tortured just for the amusement of the sadistic guards. Such horrors all the women endured there were unspeakable. Anyone who likes to read should search for books about Ravensbrück, as there are many that detail particulars of events.

    So do not call any other people sub-human names, like "locusts" or "vermin." You'll be on your way to tolerating and then justifying things that should not be done to fellow human beings.

    Why do you use the term "Nazis" instead of describing them as "Germans," because that's what they are. I am not at all anti-German, but this is a cop out to call them "Nazis." It would be the same as calling American forces in Vietnam as Democrats or Republicans. Please think this through and adjust your commentary.

    • @aaron147
      @aaron147 18 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I would guess because not all Germans were nazis. There were definitely those who helped Jews escape, or hid them in an attempt to prevent them from being killed. Often at the potential expense of their own lives. To use your example, when our troops returned from Vietnam they were spit on and called “baby killers” because those who did commit atrocities were lumped in with soldiers who fought honorably. They wouldn’t all be classified as “Americans”. And we’re certainly not all “baby killers” It’s widely acknowledged today that they were treated disgracefully based on the actions of a select group. Germans shouldn’t all be painted with one broad brush.
