  • JobBoardGeek is the podcast about the business of connecting candidates and employers. Join our hosts Steven Rothberg, Founder and Chief Visionary Officer of College Recruiter, and Jeff Dickey-Chasins aka the Job Board Doctor, along with this week’s guests Peter Askew and Nick Leroy of SEOJobs and Ranchwork.
Jeff starts the episode out with a chat about the Italian job aggregator, Jobrapido, announcing the launch of their new fixed, flat-fee subscription service that allows businesses to list unlimited jobs. Jeff thinks it's interesting not only because of the super low price they're charging for the service, but also because most job aggregators work on a pay-per-click or pay-per-application basis. Steven offers his insights on this move and whether or not it may work.
Peter and Nick join our hosts to share their backgrounds, how they got into the recruitment marketing industry, and their shared interests in SEO. Originally, Peter got his start in paid search results, but he was also interested in organic search. He had followed Nick’s SEO newsletter closely and when the opportunity to acquire SEOJobs had come to him, he thought Nick would be a great business partner.
Nick goes on to detail the differences between SEM and SEO and offers some best practices for when using these. He also shares some of the main benefits of using Google jobs API.
Tune in to hear discussion about the pricing "sweet spot", cases in which a job board wouldn’t want to use the Google schema, and more!
