  • To help explain how attackers reverse engineer device firmware, this walkthrough takes a piece of firmware from a binary file to an extracted file system you can explore on your own. For more information check out

This video is part of the Figurable project, which is geared toward people who are curious about IoT security and looking for that first bite of the apple.

Hey Tony, I liked your video a lot and so I subscribed your channel. I'm currently working on a translation project and we need to reverse engineer and translate a firmware file, the extension is quite weird ".fw". Do you think you can have a look and give me a quick hint on what I can use to extract or edit this file?

Just caught your site by chance and super glad I did. Fantastic communication skills, you are hands down the best narrator I have ever heard for this genre. Usually, those "in the known" are, well, just dry and nerdy and have zero vocal skills. Love the banter the delivery, that coupled with the obvious mad electronic and programming skills you are a phenom in my book. I subscribed in the first minute. Keep them coming and I will look for your patreon info next. Thanks
