I keep getting the same comment - "don't trust the numbers." Ok, let's talk about what we do know. Z Fold sales are down. They just are. Samsung's market share in foldables is down from 80% in 2022 to around 50% in 2024 and Huawei has taken the biggest chunk from them. (www.trendforce.com/presscenter/news/20240603-12170.html ) If you're spending your time talking about reservations vs sales and what numbers are real you're wasting your time. Huawei and other OEMs are eating into Samsung's market share. I will say that I should have been more careful with my wording not to imply sales figures for this specific device when we don't yet have them. That's my mistake. I've clipped out a few sections that could have been misleading, sadly one contained Exodia so that's a big loss.

I was considering buying it but they are already sold out and they are reselling it for $9000 for the base version. I hope they release the global version soon
I think Samsung needs to wake up they have done no real significant changes in the last 3 years. There are so many Chinese foldables out now. And now we have this impressive Huawei tri-fold
Yes it won't hamper sales in China, but it does and has in Europe and the rest of the world. Huawei products aren't even being promoted, because people want Google. If this was a video about the Chinese market you'd have a point.
@DirtCheapFU Samsung is good oh yes they are fenominal in software and some hardware but don't blow sunshine up their ass they have gotten so comfortable and just don't give a fuck on how their foldable looks just slap minor changes and were good to go so so if your blind and haven't looked at the Chinese foldable phones your brainless I'm a diehard Samsung fan and if my local Tmobile had and you could buy the Huawei Mate XT in the USA I would drop my Z Fold 6 for it no matter the price innovation is the point
Three main reasons I won't buy a Samsung Fold: 1) Past experience where the crease cracked within 5 months, 2) Too narrow, 3) Camera technology lags behind - for the price point, I'll stick with my pixel 9 Pro.
หลายเดือนก่อน
Likewise. Just changed Fold 5 to Pixel 9 Pro Fold and can't be happier. Also, at least in my country the F6 price has fallen by 33% within weeks of release which is telling everything. Serves them right
The thing Samsung needs to focus on is aspect ratio and cameras. They are literally doing almost everything else right. If they gave us flagship level cameras on the foldables and a more usable outer screen then it would be basically the perfect foldable.
Here has always been my problem with foldables. If you fix the aspect ratio of the outside screen, it doesn't do any favors to the inner screen and vice versa. A wider outer screen just makes a square inner screen. However, the tri fold kinda fixes this issue. Can have a nice aspect ratio on both.
i am hoping for price going down in future iterations 😅. I won't have to bring my phones and tablets everytime i travel now. my job requires 30-40% travel so this device can be a godsend for me
Yeah im a Sammie user. But after some time i have to agree: if fold 6 was even 200usd cheaper and had s24U cams i think sales would not.have tanked and it would have been THE number one feature that would justify the insale retail price. Cant wait to see the sales of the Slim fild overseas
Exactly this. Of course, Apple's foldable will also just be a clone of the Fold from Samsung or Google with zero innovation, but hey, it'll have Apple Intelligence, did I mention that? If not, it'll have AI, in case you didn't know (ad nauseum), and so the cycle of high-priced devices and stagnated innovation just continues.
I was hardcore on the Pixel 9 Pro fold train, I jumped off a moving train once I saw the Honor Magic v3, it's better and cheaper in everyway. I fully intend on getting the Magic V3 once I save up enough money - probably around the holidays.
Huawei makes the best hardware, period. We all know that this is going to be good and some people are willing to go along for the ride. It looks like a truly magnificent statement piece from the best manufacturer in the world, period.
@@PaulKunkel-n9gI totally disagree about the build quality for OnePlus. I have the open and had the fold 5/6 (returned the 6). The open feels just as nice as the fold 6, imo. I like it more because the Samsung is too narrow and I like how the open's hinge snaps open, whereas the fold 6 hinge feels mushy. Have no experience with the other Chinese phones, so can't comment on how those feel.
They are pretty good with software too. Huawei's self-driving system for EV is the best in China. I've seen video of a Huawei car in a lower level parking garage detecting water level raising due to flood, drove itself and find parking spot on the higher level and sent a message to owner who was dinning in the mall of its new location. It's wild 👍
If Samsung keeps releasing a new phone every 6 months with almost zero upgrades, design changes and color options, it's hardly a surprise their sales are down. Especially since there's a global financial crisis going on and people everywhere have to think before they buy. That being said, I'd rather get the Honor Magic V3 with Android OS rather than a Huawei with Harmony OS. But considering OP Open is still rocking better hardware than the Pixel, it doesn't really matter which one you get. Samsung has the software side of things worked out solid. But that's where it ends.
Huawei does not really have an advantage over Samsung. Huawei have experienced 4 rounds of sanctions from the US government including it's inability to use Google and advanced chipsets. Despite all that, Huawei is able to push out a product like this. Surely Samsung could do so much better.
Two things can be true. Huawei can be hurt by sanctions while also being aided by other factors. There's a raisin companies like Huawei are able to sell such advanced hardware at such low prices.
@@scaryifliteral In a decade or so, they'll be doing the same, flooding the market with cheap but advanced chips that they've been forced into developing and manufacturing domestically due to sanctions. The US really shot itself in the foot over the long run with its sanction on the sale of advanced chips.
The maybe only factor aiding Huawei is the loyalty they got from there home market especially after the sanctions and also that they are a private company and don't have outside investors/shareholders to please by stock buys or more dividends and so they spent about a quarter of there revenues in R&D
You bringing up the concept of bifolds having one fold and trifolds having two folds is blowing my mind. Thanks to you, I'll always be annoyed when I see bifold and trifold wallets. hahah
Great analysis as usual Shane. Samsung foldable marketshare is going down because they simply haven´t innovated in quite a few years and have completely stagnated not only their foldable but even their candybar devices. They over relied on having the best distribution for android worldwide to keep their lead, and this mistake is going to be their downfall. In markets where all foldables are available for purchase (China and most of Asia) Samsung´s foldables are not selling at all because they have fallen so far behind. The only point I must take issue with what you said is with regards to Huawei supposedly having a huge advantage because of government subsidies. As far as I know (if if i´m wrong of course I would love to hear your source) the only subsidies that Huawei received was to help with kick starting their Chip industry after the US atempted to destroy Huawei with their sanctions. Huawei was actually at a huge disadvantage because of said sanctions and being banned in the US and many other western markets at the moment when it was about to overtake both Samsung and Apple worldwide (it actually did for one quarter before the sanctions took full effect). Samsung was the one that had the huge advantage of having basically the whole western market for itself for a few years, and only recently has Honor started to launch to compete with them (and it has already surpassed sales of the fold 6 in western europe).
I think the main issue with single-fold devices is that you don't get a real tablet experience on the interior. It's an awkward squarish display that's nice for some multitasking use cases, but not great for the much more common single-task cases where you just want a bigger screen, such as video viewing. The double-fold gives a genuine tablet inside, so I could see it having a broader appeal. Personally, my biggest concern is having the soft folding display on the outside, but maybe there could be a folio-style case with a clear front cover to allow basic usage without needing to open the folio?
nah Huawei really knocked the folding generation out the park. They done AMAZING job. no wonder Huawei got banned in many countries. but they still doing better regardless
The hype about this phone confirms that people have still a lot of money they are willing to spend if there is something new on the market. They did not believe the form factor of folding phones with the first devices but now the concept works and Huawei produces the best specs hardware in this area - and the factor of novelty makes people crazy about this particular phone... Lesson for Samsung for sure...
Besides insignificant changes. I think a reason folds are selling less and less is because they're expensive so people who already bought one are not looking to upgrading, and people who want one are holding off until it's on par with the ultra models. Leaving no real alternate audience for Samsung.
samsung has just been making the wrong decicion with the aspect ratio and size. id want something like a s24 ultra that unfolds, as tall and as wide, not a tv remote that unfolds. (i have z fold 4) also just give me a super thick camera bump with the s25ultra camera for next gen would be my preference, i often wish i had better cameras.
I have a fold 3 (bought used for a steal, basically mint only the screen protector needed replacing), there is zero chance I'd upgrade to a zf6, almost not worth the hassle if it were free. Samsung needs to make the phone wider. My next phone will be the first trifold that is around 2k or less new. The screens just aren't worth 2800, huawei is making a cutting edge super thin version to show up apple but ppl would buy a thicker trifold if it were cheaper.. and huawei or a Chinese company would destroy apple if they could price match a trifold to the high end iPhone, even if it were quite a bit thicker, with almost normal midrange phone specs
i never wanted a foldable seeing what samsung was offering in terms of sub quality hardware...weak battery..small narrow screen..heavy and bulky... then once Honor V3 was announced, not only i bought it but bought the chinese version on release! i got rid of 2 slab phones (iphone/samsung) with one phone..finally no need to carry 2 phones...for all the short comings of samsungs hardware, Honor did the right things and dealt with them perfectly...software is also good..infact it is the only foldable phone where you can use your stylus on the outer screen.. i also believe they will release their tri-fold next year...
Z fold 7 needs larger outer screen, built in spen on both screens. Better camera, and better battery with faster charging. Maybe call it the galaxy note fold? Another thing i want is a better gaming mode
I mostly agree. I guess the other side of the coin could be there the Z Fold 4 and 5 were just so good, people don't need to upgrade to the 6. But, personally, I'd love to see Sammy get aggressive and do something bold. Until then, I'm pretty happy with my P9PF.
Z fold 3 was where samsung really peaked. It was significantly improved from the 2 but since the 3 everything has been small upgrades. Slightly wider front screen, folds flat, little brighter...
Samsung has rested on its laurels way too long now it's time or something of a shake up I would say if Samsung would make the screens as big as the Pixel folds make that battery a little bit bigger and lastly give it better cameras the phone will be perfect, or at least perfect for me.
I have never had any interest in foldable phones; it always seemed extremely gimmick-y. But with two folds, that screen is basically an iPad. I'm now focused on the industry
Wider outer display, ultra thin, larger battery, flagship cameras (even if it means bigger camera bump) and a $1500ish price tag and they can have a major winner. All those things have already been done by their competitors. We need to reach that price point for foldables to really take off bc mentally people can’t justify towards $2000 price. Everyone expected prices to drop as the tech matured but Samsung raised it by $100
My opinion, as a heavy Samsung user : I'm a software engineer and a power user. I have enough and I used to change phones every year. I'm really an enthusiast, so it's really hard to make me not upgrade. I said all that to emphasise how little Samsung is trying with it's foldables. I bought the Fold 2, 3 and 4, realized that I was buying the same phone 3 times and skipped the 5 (that was also was the same). I was also disapointed by the Fold 6 but ended buying it because of the fake hype that reviewers were putting out there. I finally returned it : it's once again the same phone. It takes a lot to deter me from upgrading but Samsung succeeded. Great job
Its almost 3k also because of all the add ones. Take out the headphones both the charging brick and car charger and the case with the 2 usb cables and you would take off about 400 bucks off the price. They give more for what you pay for. If i could get one in the us i would have.
Huawei are doing with the Mate XT exactly what they did with the P20 and P20pro, smashing out incredible hardware and design with very clever software, just a shame there is no Google services.
This is good, this is great news. It's what Samsung needs. Low sales, they must learn. We have been wanting innovation for a long time and they just dont want to do anything about it.
Great commentary, unfortunately, some people are still drinking the "Samsung koolaid" (greggles?) Will Samsung change?....Who knows, maybe they should watch your channel!😁
I think the reality is that most foldable phones are essentially phones with extended screens. They try to advertise like they increase multitasking but they do so only to an extent. With the new Huawei XT the form factor is beautiful and attractive to see and essentially a very usable phone and tablet in one. Galaxy folds are too narrow when folded. All of the other foldables before while wider have basically the same form factor abd people are bored. However, with all these innovations, I am yet to see a true multitasking phone except for Surface Duo.
Samsung need to widen the and shorter the aspect ratio, improve the camera, get rid of the crease and most importantly for me to upgrade from the fold 4, include an S-pen slot like in the galaxy s24 ultra.
Those 6 Million reservations are in China, a population that exceeds 1 Billion and more importantly, Huawei's home territory. I think we need to add perspective to this. Huawei absolutely destroys even the mighty Apple in its home backyard of China, so no Samsung should not be worried yet. The measure of this phone's success will be when we see the Global pre order and sales figures outside of China. You take that figure and compare it to Samsung's global figures and THEN we will get a true reflection of where the market is going. China has ALWAYS been an easy win for Xiaomi, Huawei and co. So this is absolutely nothing to be surprised about.
@scaryifliteral I agree but I'm referring to the title of your video which is specifically talking about the Huawei device Shane. Globally, yes you are correct other vendors are taking away slices of Samsung's Marketshare but again, based on your title pitting the Huawei device up against Samsung's offering, my point still stands.
@@mrhopp92 Fully agree. As a Samsung user I am very annoyed at them and HOPE other manufacturers start hitting them where it hurts because they have decided to be complacent for far too long. Don't get me wrong, the Fold 6 is a very good device but as an owner of it I'm not blind to the fact they have given me a set of cameras that had it not been for the fact I have a background in photography, I would really struggle to get decent pictures in low light. Plus the fact they have the cheek to Jack up the price, as well as give us slower charging speeds, all show me they are failing in the area they used to be king... which is Pro consumer value for money.
yea the most annoying thing about samsung is the fold phones are great, with some obvious issues... and thats been the case for like 3-4 years now. the cost to upgrade each year is MUCH higher than from a flat phone too.
when Honor releases their Mate XT version (Magic VT Ultimate maybe?), it will be another gamechanger for the global foldable market. And judging by Honor's track record of releasing foldables' with record-breaking thinness, advanced battery tech, and top-notch specs, their trifold will be a hit (and with GMS to boot). I can't wait, it'll hard for me to not buy it immediately when it releases.
I think the market wants inovation. If people are spending $1900 on a device, they want to be excited by the device. However it can be hard for companies to remain fresh every year. Maybe it's time to start releasing new models every 2 or 3 years instead of every year.
The biggest reason I want a wider Z Fold is so I can get MagSafe and stick the S Pen on the back. My stick on S Pen holder and MagSafe would fit on my Pixel 9 Pro Fold but not my Z Fold5.
I have purchased the Z Folds 3,4,5,6 . My next upgrade won't happen until I see something with a flagship class camera, an outer screen that can be used with the s-pen with a dock for the pen, and an outer screen with a physical format that is more like a Galaxy S series phone. Either Samsung will do something or maybe Apple will, and that might get me to move to an Apple foldable.
ZF6 failure is, for sure, related to a 'no listen' policy from samsung. Releasing a fold 5 with a new processor and a 1mm increase in the outer display for more 100€ is just fooling their clients (I felt that). Samsung users felt offended by that position. There is no argues that Samsung software integration is way better than all the others... I just sent a pixel 9 pro xl back just because of the bad integration with anything other than google. And even that was not amazing in Google. Just compare samsung gallery or the file manager that integrates perfectly with cloud services like Google drive and onedrive. Do a simple copy paste operation in file manager between any storage (local/cloud) and try to do the same on other phones... So, the ones that look for performance, ease of use and integration will stick to Samsung, but only if they don't feel ignored or deceived. ZF6 was that..a deception
The display on the outside is closer to 2-3mm wider. The phone itself is only 1mm wider but they shrunk thr bezel/hinge. Dont mislead for the sake of your narrative. The fold 6 is now almost as close to the oneplus/google screen width as it is to the fold 5
@@EthanCarey-l4c I don't see it that way. And the fact that they are releasing a new 'ultra' version only in asian market with much more attractive features, almost seems that they were trying to dump the spare parts from ZF5 that were not sokd 😬😬😬 . Don't get me wrong, it is a good and beautiful phone, but for me,and I believe many others, that were waiting for the WOW factor...it didn't happen it was just a ZF5 with a twist (a little twist)...
I wonder what the number of new smartphone purchases over the last few years looks like, especially through carriers. I feel like used phone and base model carrier deals are hurting these niche device purchases as bad or worse than stagnation.
It's flipping expensive for the price I pay for the phone. I still have the z fold 4. I touched the z fold 6. Trust me it feels great holding it.. Giigidi... but that's it! What new technology? The battery ??
This huawei phone seems like a complete gimmick to me. And 3k for a phone is absolutely ridiculous. I can appreciate innovation or the adaptation of different form factors, but that XT form factor isn't the future. I don't want to be misconstrued though, for as big of a samsung fanboy as i am, it's fucking ridiculous them releasing minor iterative upgrades each year. Is thr fold 6 suprisingly a lot better than the 5? Yes, but it sure as hell isnt worth 1800 let alone 1900. They better get their heads out of their asses for the 7
keep in mind the 6 million pre-order of the Mate XT is all within mainland China...because it's not available yet outside of China...so curious how that's going to sell
I still think it is a major misstep to have these devices without the same cameras as their flagship phones. I don't buy they didn't have space. They could have made the space if they wanted
As a Samsung fan, I hate saying this, but Samsung mobile design team has gotten lazy. You can see it in the Watch Ultra and Buds3 Pro, and you can see it in the Fold/Flip. They've relaxed.
Vaz, Lada and Zhiguli had enormous government subsidies but Western automakers stayed in front due to ingenuity and competitiveness. Samsung and Google need to see Huawei as a challenge they refuse to give in to.
Appreciate that exodia plug on yu gi oh 😂 .... good one 👍. That trifold phone I'd sell one of my cars for one. But then I'll sit down and rethink my decision 😅
You know some reviewers are amazing, Samsung innovates and then charges what they need to make a profit. People complain and then they allegedly don't innovate and people complain. Why not going to business for yourself and create your own trifold or quadrifold phone? It's not that easy. Plus you have software to deal with. Let's wait till the Huawei foldable gets released globally and see how good their software is.
Agreed! I guess they didn't think bipanel sounded as sexy as bifold in the 1950s. Although it's for sure confusing it's still established terminology and the origins seem reasonable albeit very open for misinterpretation.
Why would Samsung need to catch up when it’s already ahead? The Mate XT is just a giant foldable phat phone with an outdated chipset and an antiquated skin of Android. It’s not exactly special aside from its one party trick with no long term reviews yet of durability. It also costs a crap ton. 😂
@@scaryifliteral That doesn’t mean their products are inferior or not good enough. China’s economy will not support fancy phone sales for long. Huawei is more or less a state-owned company with all its subsidies and backing. Most of the screen tech is likely stolen anyway.
You cna already import it in north america and anywhere in the world, the chinese person already supports English and other languages i alresdy ordered oen form china 2-3 weeks wait before it arrives.
Samsung has always not gone as far as they could, relying heavily on "software experience" to carry devices. This has been the case with all of their foldables and low - mid tier tablets.
Samsung has got lazy. I had a chance the other day after a trade of my S24 Ultra I was able to buy the Z Fold 6 (1TB) model for $674 dollars brand new and I passed.
I'll be real with u chief..... They really should just copy the xt ultimate.... Hear me out. Imagine that hardware with Samsung software... That would be a masterpiece. But if not just give us a foldable with 6.4 or 6.5. and I say that cause even their 6.3 technically isn't a 6.3. u can see it comparing the OnePlus open and the z fold 6. But I'm saving for the techno tri-fold or when Huawei goes global. 🙏🏾✌🏾
But chinese flagship are not available in North America, Europe and South America...so... It's good for Chinese and some other asian consumers but i'm not sure Samsung will make significative improvements with next Fold, unless they lose a large amount of money. I live in France 🇫🇷 and i can tell you that most people don't buy Samsung fold. People are afraid of screen issues, break issues and don't want to pay Samsung Care. Since Samsung doesn't have any store like Apple stores, consumers are not confident. In my opinion, Samsung concurrence on foldable, only exists in Asia. Outside of Asia, foldable means Samsung. In France, Pixel represent less than 1% of the market and there are no Pixel Fold in stores too. Same in Portugal, Spain and Germany.
interesting theory about Huawei getting government subsidy and therefore having an advantage over Samsung, etc and therefore their phones are better. I wonder if there's any evidence to back that up.
@@scaryifliteral - gossip is not evidence. PS: the US Gov is providing $1.6 Billion budget for international Anti China propaganda. You're going to hear a lot more widely reported things.
@@scaryifliteral same as you report it, but evidence needed...... logical if china subsidy everything, then where they get money from? there not enough tax from the sale to cover subsidy .....
"Tri-fold," whether it's a wallet or a phone, refers to the number of panels being folded. You're confusing a crease with a fold. 2 creases, 3 folding parts. You're basically saying a human body only consists of 2 arms, 2 legs, and a head. You're forgetting the body that connects them all. That's a part too.
The increased pricing of samsung really is just on paper. I dont know anyone who paid more than 500 for a fold in years because of the absolutely huge deals and trade ins they offer. No other fold beats samsung on price when you factor in deals. I paid 400 for mine. One of my friends got his fir 300. On top of that if you use a cash back card and ruketen or have att where you can trade in a second phone with them to stack the samsung trade in with the att trade in you can easily get this phone for free with hundreds of dollars in cashback or bill credits added to your account. As an added bonus samsung also has a reward program that can be used for cash off on future purches making the next phine even cheaper. At least in America, in this economy other folds just dont make economic sense especially when you consider the better UI of samsung and most Americans not trusting chinese software to put all their data on in the age of all these data breaches from china in their cyber war with the USA.
Samsung doesn't need to make a tri fold. They need to make zfold 2 S24U s and that same form factor with S24U camera with the built in spen. Not so hard Samsung 😂. People would buy the crap outta this fold
This why appl, samsung, google got together and pushed huawei out us because they aren't innovative anymore they all doing same thing minimalist upgrades and subpar changes where it's not worth upgrade
What advantages does Huawei have over Korean and U.S. OEMs? Huawei has been heavily sanctioned for years by the U.S. administration, thus hampering its growth. It probably would have come up with this phone two years ago if it weren’t for such sanctions!
If samsung phones werent so easy to get, and had stores we can take devices into for issues they would be absolutely getting murdered in sales. Thats the biggest advantage they have because the devices especially foldables have fallen behind the competition. And that's coming from an admitted sammy fan boy
Huawei xt phone is already breaking. That's why Samsung and Apple take their time before they release things. Samsung already did a triple prototype phone before Huawei and stole the technology.
I don't feel sorry for samsung and I've been using strictly samsung phones since the Note 2. Samsung has ultimately been lazy in the innovation department and so has google because they know typical American consumers aren't even going to import any of these foreign phones especially the foldables. Samsung will give us the same design and same camera specs for years in a row, no charging bricks, lack luster packaging. and charge top tier pricing. Meanwhile these foreign companies are charging less and giving us more for our money. Foreign foldables haven't been popular in the internet until the XT which has caused a buzz and lit a match under samsung and apple because consumers are tired of getting played. We also have to get into the drama with Hauwei being ousted from android and the U.S. for claims to info stealing when really it was about competition and foreign interest imo. If samsung wants to improve their standings in foldables they either better give us a fold with s24U screens or release a tri fold phone of their own and they're lucky you can't port android into the XT or it would be game over.
No one is noticing that once this item is folded up, the thin screen is still exposed. You could scratch it with a fingernail. There's no screen protector for this $2800 phone.

The thing Samsung needs to focus on is aspect ratio and cameras. They are literally doing almost everything else right. If they gave us flagship level cameras on the foldables and a more usable outer screen then it would be basically the perfect foldable.
they can but they dont want to
@@peterchen8845 I don’t see how it benefits them to not do it. They are letting other companies beat them in those areas.
I'm sure Apple will release a foldable soon and all of a sudden everyone "needs" one
Just make sure to buy insurance, obviously. You'll have zero support if anything goes wrong from any of the foldables you have to import.
The fold isn't selling mainly because of the outer screen. Everyone complains about it yet Samsung won't listen
US: * bans Huawei's access to tech *
Huawei: hold our hinges, variable apertures, etc.
not just US, can't get Huawei phone or laptop in Canada
Xiaomi also. Don't sale phone in usa
@@futoCanada is practically a US state isn't it let's be wholeheartedly honest
270 000 units would be shocking considering Huawei is 50% more expensive. 270k would be potentially cancel z fold entirely numbers.
Most people when getting new phones are paying them off monthly
Huawei is in bed with the chinese government and turns over all their customers data to them, that's why they got banned.
Something functional
A regular fold doesn't really appeal to me and I love phones
Besides insignificant changes. I think a reason folds are selling less and less is because they're expensive so people who already bought one are not looking to upgrading, and people who want one are holding off until it's on par with the ultra models. Leaving no real alternate audience for Samsung.
samsung has just been making the wrong decicion with the aspect ratio and size.
id want something like a s24 ultra that unfolds, as tall and as wide, not a tv remote that unfolds.
(i have z fold 4)
also just give me a super thick camera bump with the s25ultra camera for next gen would be my preference, i often wish i had better cameras.
Agreed. If Samsung doesn’t step up, I’ll be looking at Huawei to for my new ecosystem.
I've had the Fold 6. It's called the Fold 4/5. Sick of mediocre Samsung.
Mate XT available Average Dad TH-cam store shipping next week 2500.00 to most countries
i never wanted a foldable seeing what samsung was offering in terms of sub quality hardware...weak battery..small narrow screen..heavy and bulky...
then once Honor V3 was announced, not only i bought it but bought the chinese version on release! i got rid of 2 slab phones (iphone/samsung) with one phone..finally no need to carry 2 phones...for all the short comings of samsungs hardware, Honor did the right things and dealt with them perfectly...software is also good..infact it is the only foldable phone where you can use your stylus on the outer screen..
i also believe they will release their tri-fold next year...
Even if Samsung came up with something cheap I'd still doubt whether it will gain any traction...
Great commentary, unfortunately, some people are still drinking the "Samsung koolaid" (greggles?) Will Samsung change?....Who knows, maybe they should watch your channel!😁
I hope xiaomi or honor make thier own version
Samsung has watched their Z Fold sell less three years in a row while competitors sales and market share grow. They should absolutely be concerned.
You are right on point, although Samsung didn’t use to lag in innovations like this
@scaryifliteral I agree but I'm referring to the title of your video which is specifically talking about the Huawei device Shane.
You mean the 10 people that will import from china? Bro it's 3k....with no global rom. Practically a 3k brick in the states.
yea the most annoying thing about samsung is the fold phones are great, with some obvious issues... and thats been the case for like 3-4 years now. the cost to upgrade each year is MUCH higher than from a flat phone too.
when Honor releases their Mate XT version (Magic VT Ultimate maybe?), it will be another gamechanger for the global foldable market. And judging by Honor's track record of releasing foldables' with record-breaking thinness, advanced battery tech, and top-notch specs, their trifold will be a hit (and with GMS to boot). I can't wait, it'll hard for me to not buy it immediately when it releases.
Comparing Samsung fold to Vivo xfold 4 it's very easy to conclude Samsung is in the stone age
It's taken you 4purchases to realise that..
Nah, I applaud them honestly. Big supporter of a brand, still willing to criticize and move on.
only Honor V3 offers the capability of using a stylus on their outer screen!
@@EthanCarey-l4c that's not the point... Its a 'fake' upgrade compared to ZF5.
@@trlopes1974 not really. You're moving the goalposts for what constitutes a real upgrade and getting called out 🤷♂️
@@EthanCarey-l4c I don't see it that way.
Chinese reviews are out and they are stating the phones way too fragile.
Not suprised since the screen folds outwards and its so thin.
I prefer zfold multitask options. Am not impressed with 3 times foldable.
Samsung and Apple are banging their heads against the wall right now, "THIS PHONE IS AWESOME "
I still think it is a major misstep to have these devices without the same cameras as their flagship phones. I don't buy they didn't have space. They could have made the space if they wanted
Any thoughts on recent reports of hardware failures on Mate XT?
Shame that even Exodia isn't above US sanctions😅
The Z Fold 6 IS an FE version at this point. The paint coming off of it is just 😂.
Samsung offered €565 for me to trade in the fold 5 for the 6 when it came out, now their offering €820
Coming from Fold 4, I now have Honor Magic v2
The bi- in bifold wallets refer to the number of panels or sections not the number of hinges. Bifold doors follow the same logic
Bi means two, Fold means Fold. A bifold wallet has one fold. Call it bipanel or something that makes sense.
Did you miss the part about how their sales are going down each year?
@@scaryifliteral That doesn’t mean their products are inferior or not good enough. China’s economy will not support fancy phone sales for long. Huawei is more or less a state-owned company with all its subsidies and backing. Most of the screen tech is likely stolen anyway.

Surely this has shown Samsung the way. Create these top spec foldables and ppl will purchase them.
Would you rather have Chinese collect your data or the US setting them off?

"Tri-fold," whether it's a wallet or a phone, refers to the number of panels being folded. You're confusing a crease with a fold. 2 creases, 3 folding parts. You're basically saying a human body only consists of 2 arms, 2 legs, and a head. You're forgetting the body that connects them all. That's a part too.
In this analogy, the part that connects the panels are the hinges. There are two hinges. It folds in two places, not three. Call it tri-panel.
@scaryifliteral you're still confused. I guess two huge industries are wrong. Lol
100% tariff coming soon
Samsung doesn't need to make a tri fold. They need to make zfold 2 S24U s and that same form factor with S24U camera with the built in spen. Not so hard Samsung 😂. People would buy the crap outta this fold
The 2020s are shaping up to be the decade of Chinese smartphone dominance. Everyone else had better wake up before it's too late
I would spend 2500 on a trifold Samsung
This why appl, samsung, google got together and pushed huawei out us because they aren't innovative anymore they all doing same thing minimalist upgrades and subpar changes where it's not worth upgrade
What advantages does Huawei have over Korean and U.S. OEMs? Huawei has been heavily sanctioned for years by the U.S. administration, thus hampering its growth. It probably would have come up with this phone two years ago if it weren’t for such sanctions!
be ready to pay 4x the retail price for the global version 🤓🤓
If samsung phones werent so easy to get, and had stores we can take devices into for issues they would be absolutely getting murdered in sales. Thats the biggest advantage they have because the devices especially foldables have fallen behind the competition. And that's coming from an admitted sammy fan boy
Huawei xt phone is already breaking. That's why Samsung and Apple take their time before they release things. Samsung already did a triple prototype phone before Huawei and stole the technology.
Trifold with snapdragon 8 gen 4 will be king of flagship
If samsung wants to improve their standings in foldables they either better give us a fold with s24U screens or release a tri fold phone of their own and they're lucky you can't port android into the XT or it would be game over.
if it lasts 7 years and the folding display doesnt off itself due to high angle folds itd be worth it.
most ppl kept phone for 3 years...7yrs is far too long and it be so

Do you think Google will come out with a trifold ?
Maybe in 15 years lol
