I got one of these through the reverb black batch. It’s so musical/beautiful to play. I really wish it had midi presets, it has cc, but you can’t even send a bpm, you have to calculate its delay time range and do some math to get to a bpm along with your chosen subdivisions. Staying on my board just cuz it sounds that amazing and truly shined in the stereo rig/field.
Lovely playing as ever. Your enjoyment may have been only slightly let marred by leaving it in series the whole time (at least as far as I could see!). It sounds even better in parallel. I just had a 2x12 rewired so I can use it (running into a Poly Verbs) in stereo for gigs. Bloody epic.
Really beautiful sounds here John! I’d put the Flashback delays inside of Plethora for feature rich, great sound, and MIDI controllable as well. Might be a bit too much complexity for some users, but if you really need to tailor a delay to do just about anything specific, the Plethora will get you there. Especially the X5 version since you get MASH and external expression pedal input, both onboard as well as additional expression control and tap tempo via MIDI.
Holy Heaven on Earth. The Meraki into the Poly Verbs? I can’t even imagine how good that’s gotta sound. I’m most likely going to get the Meraki. I think I’m going to drop my TC 1210 and use the modulated delays in the Meraki. And I’m thinking about a new reverb. Right now, I run a PCM 81 on the Rich Plate preset (tweaked). I’m thinking either Poly, the UA Golden, or the new Meris one…(the X?). I want to go smaller, but not lose sound quality. I’m not much of a “sound designer”, meaning, I find a preset I like, tweak it to what I like, and that’s about it. Why is your opinion on my possible reverb switch out of a rack PCM 81 to a new device, like I mentioned? I run effects into a line mixer and blend it all in.
Almost certainly John will find a way to emulate some of this with Helix and or Fractal. He did not touch on the switch right side which from what i gather is a random syne wave, in another demo I saw it causes a shimmering short modulation, which was very usuable. There is alot to this pedal for sure.
This is how I felt after recently picking up a Strymon Timeline. Man that thing is too good! This pedal looks absolutely wonderful though tbh. Small footprint, all analog with stunning and inspiring delay sounds. This is something I may just have to check out anyway, as I am really enjoying the sounds. **Just saw the price at the same time that you mentioned it. Definitely out of reach at the moment.
Sounds good man, but I wish you didn't leave the Feedback Path in Series the whole time! No demo of Parallel or Ping Pong?! They sound vastly different.
I hope to see more pedals like this. Because it is slim pickings for stereo analogue delays. It's this, the Boss DM-101 & apparently Flower Pedals Dahlia.
@@hoover728 Yup. And the other two Meraki & Dahlia don't offer presets. (From what I've read, even with Midi the Meraki doesn't do presets.) They all have foibles.
It sounds pretty bro. Rich. Real. I’m not going to start listing all of TGP adjectives, like “ghostly” and “organic” blah blah blah. This delay just sounds like it’s an instrument unto itself. It doesn’t sound digital or cold and there aren’t nasty sounding artifacts. It’s just real nice bro. It’s musical. Lol

Super gooey and melty. Almost a reverb. Lovely sounds John!
Recreate it in the HX Stomp!
You can't

Love analogue delay, love the sound of this.
ARGH you’re making me buy it!!!!

From the first quick glance, I thought it was that great Analogman delay unit
What was that? I think an AD-20 or something. It’s pink with less knobs than this one. I owned one and loved it.
ARDX20
@@cameronspears1386 yes something like that, it was good just a little too big for my liking (at the time) :)
What's the most musical use of the word "musical" do you think?

No body talking about him opening the box with a sword? 😂
I've heard fingers are sort important for guitar players... lol (LOVE IT!)

Nice “”StraGuar” guitar!!

The fact that you’re still looking after having a timeline though. You should get that checked out 😉.
Brig still is amazing. This is a wonderful delay. I don’t know if I could imagine spending $600 on delay pedal
sounds absolutely beautiful tho
Gonna need a disc replacement after demoing this pedal.
Been a while since seen that shirt
I hope Tomo Fujita doesn't see that weapon of yours and get ideas - he's a threat to life and limb (his own) with a pen knife.

Strymon Timeline also. Digital interface but analogue audio. I believe.
@@BeefNEggs057 Timeline is digital. All Strymon pedals are. They're just really good.

Hello John! I did get what do you mean when you say “most musical”?

The Valhalla delay could simulate this pedal.
First comment? Great channel
Boss, your Truefire link doesn't work for me. Is it accurate?
uh other than the red color, whats the difference between the one released about a month ago?
These are available.
Reverb still has the blackout version for sale. If you favorite it, they will send you a discount offer for $530. @@GitShiddy

600$ steep, sounds good, no presets?
I’d really enjoy this pedal, but… I can’t do the price.
That's not a knife..
Dude, don't make me go out and buy a 600 dollar delay pedal. I am way too impulsive. I need to stop watching this channel.
John isn’t acoustic, doctors have checked.
analog or digital then
His mammogram confirmed artisticism present.
John identifies as a Cordial Cherry
AC or DC? No, he doesn't like hard rock!
To be honest, I’m not hearing anything new from this pedal, that I can’t recreate with the pedals I have.
