Khamzat is 3rd now, and therefore 1 fight away from a title shot. Uncle Dana wants to put him vs Colby, considering Usman will be busy with Edwards this summer. So if Khamzat beats Colby, it is 100% sure he'll be having a crack at the title after Edwards.
I agree with you guys, the humility in this man is amazing. He is setting a standard that we all can appreciate. Win or loss, he is a champion in my book!
Burns lost, but earned respect. Burns know that among the Chechens you have become respected, many did not know you before the fight with Khamzat, although I knew and respected you, but you seem to be a very good person, pure and brave, now you have even more fans. The Chechens respected you, many of them ran to fight with Khamzat, but you, like a real warrior, took the risk. The battle is lost but respect has risen, and respect is most important, always welcome to Chechnya
Gilbert Burns is anything a fan would love from a fighter, nice, humble, tough, ready to go in there to fight anyone, always respectful and overall a great representative of the sport, it's an honor to watch his fights.
Burns is awesome. He is all class and deserves a rematch. Personally i thought he would have submitted Khamzat. He may next time. Burns is one tuff dude and he proved it by going the distance with Khamzat! Khamzat is a true killer and a animal. Burns shocked me and the whole world how he stood his ground with Khamzat. What a great fight!!
Burns shocked me as well, but he ain't beating Khamzat in a second bout. Khamzat's inexperience showed here when he desperately tried to knock a more technical and powerful striker out. That's not a mistake he will make again. Sure, Burns is going to make adjustments as well, but Khamzat's ceiling is just higher at this stage of his career. Second fight would end badly for Burns and I love the guy
.. And I think khamzat knew that as well... Reason he stopped talking burns down. The extra weight advantage told on the feet, not skill but extra weight that translate into harder hitting power
burns wouldnt get the chance to submit khamzat.. khamzat would never go to the ground with him, he knew he was out skilled if he did aswell, good fight tho
@@KrazyJP4 Yeah absolutely, the next time Khamzat fighs I think he himself knows that he no longer has anything to prove to the fans, he will fight the smart fight next time around I believe.
@@muslimking3869 Khamzats not going anywhere. He's got so much ahead of him. Gilbert was underestimated by most for this fight even more than the Usman fight.
Burns sure earned a fan in me from that fight. A bit because of how freaking tough he was, but for his attitude leading up to the fight and the way he's comported himself after the fight.
I was a fan of Gilbert before the fight. I'm a HUGE fan of him after the fight. His elite skills, his grit, and his heart was REALLY shown. To be ranked #2 and choose to fight the #11 ranked guy just because he thought it was a very good fight really shows the kind of fighter he is. He has the champion mentality, the elite skills to back it up, and gives EVERYTHING he has in the octagon. That was one of the best, if not THE best, fight I've ever seen. It was a super close fight and part of me really believes that he won. A draw would've been the perfect outcome, but I'm not upset at all that Khamzat won and I wouldn't be upset if Burns won. Honestly, I think they both won, the company won, and the fans won. But for Burns to accept the fight given the difference in rankings, the amazing performance/show he put on, and the utmost class he showed before and after the fight despite all the disrespect towards him has made him one of my favorite fighters now. He walked in that octagon ready to fight until death and he REALLY showed it. You could really feel the power, effort, and vicious intentions on most of the strikes he threw. I could go on and on. I just respect him so highly for giving Khamzat the opportunity and for showcasing how he was literally going to fight to the death. I hope he officially wins the Championship title one day, because he is already unofficially a champion in my mind. Love ya bro. Thank you for the unforgettable performance. I hope they paid you well.
From hearing lots of interviews about Khamzat, one thing I remember hearing is that he had difficulty getting matches, and so it's the same as Colby where they try to create some hype/get some attention from the media so they get fights. Even Khabib and Zabit had the same problem - nobody wanted to fight them.
2:57 I'm Swedish and that's definetely not what Khamzat coach said in the corner, at least not what was shown on stream. Coach repeated "Slåss inte" which literally translate to "Don't fight" but the meaning is more like don't brainlessly brawl with Gilbert. He wanted Khamzat to fight smarter and to fight to win not fight to put on a show for the fans.
Isn't that what Gilbert said? He used the word brawl which is more accurate. And his coach said afterwards he was telling Khamzat not to fight in the pocket or get caught up in wrestling.
@@Byronic19134 no, Gilbert lied or was lied to. Gilbert said don't wrestle, this guy is dangerous, etc... Which is not at all what his coach said. His coach said not to brawl.
@@micahjohnson138 Yeah maybe it was said outside of the broadcast so we didn't hear it.. But from what said on TV the coach for sure said "slåss inte med honom" which means "dont brawl/fight with him"
I agree with what many have already said, and that is, outside of official records this was a win for both guys. But I have always been a huge fan of Durinho, and I knew this fight was going to be one of the top fights of 2022.
The coach didnt say no more wrestling. The coach said "sluta slåss" meaning stop brawling i.e. throwing uncontrolled punches to put up with a show. Then khamzat listened, became more controlled with his strikes next round and won.
Close fight but i had to rewatch that 3rd round khamzat was beating him the first 3 minutes minutes in that round, burns was beating him later on. I had chimaev but im biased cause i want him to win against EVVVVERYBODDY
If you’re not a Casual, you understand that what we witnessed was a clash of Titans. I think Burns has been reignited, not that I think he was stagnant. Just the Warrior who is now haunted by the clash. This could easily be the greatest Trilogy in UFC History.
@@laughinghyena888 I personally think Burns wins in a 5 Rounder Khamzat almost defaulted to his Wrestling at the end of the 3rd, If we get a 4th and 5th it goes to the ground I genuinely don’t think Khamzat Wins there. Thus 1-1 resulting in an inevitable trilogy because the fight will sell. And these guys are true warriors they’ll run it right back after the 2nd if it goes 1-1 not this crap Mcgregor has pulled, he owes Diaz the trilogy and if I’m running the UFC I’m not letting him step in the cage with any other man than Nate.
3:00 That's an incorrect translation. The coach, literally and very clearly, said "don't _fight_ with him" (Swedish: "slåss inte med han"). We don't have a word corresponding to the English word "brawl", which is what I feel his coach was trying to convey to Khamzat, especially so as he proceeds with saying "straight punches" (Swedish: "raka slag"). The coach, simply, didn't want a brawl, but more technique from Khamzat. Other than that, given how the fight played out, Burns is probably right in the sense that Khamzat and his team were very wary of Burns' jiu-jitsu.
just imagine what would hapen to Burns if Khamzat didnt have to fast in the month of Ramadan, imagine to unable to fully recover on day time after weighings , trully monster .. show performance like this its just another level boys

@@Octaphea yeah brother I realize this. Been in this since day one. What I’m saying is emotions are known to play with results. Stats are what we call science, not emotions. All I’m saying is it was an extremely close battle and is definitely up for debate as to who won. I thought Yan was up 3-2 for example as did Dana as he mentioned and lots of others. Burns rose to the occasion and debatably won against a guy who was going to smesh him in less then a minute . Khamzat should do the same and return the fight as he’s now being called out. It would make great ppv and be fight of the night so since Khamzat as he says dosent care who he fights as long as he gets paid, man up . His coach is yelling at him telling him not to grapple with Burns or brawl with him because Burns is too strong,,,,,if that doesn’t give all the fangirls a dose of reality then I don’t know what will. Burns was right when he said: Better fight Khamzat now that in one year, Khamzat learned a lot from this fight, he needed this, he will not start brawling in his next fight and listen to his coach and be more technical.
It was close. Huge props for Khamzat, even with that perfect record behind him he took on Burns and did enough to win. I think he's 100% right ,, he took a fight with 11 ranked fighter and it was extremely close , he deserves the courtesy of a rematch
Class act. One of the best WWs to ever do it.
Hats off to Borz as well for stepping up and fighting such a huge gap from what he has been. Both gentlemen are great humans.
I can say , I am insanely more intrigued to see the evolution of Khamzat after this even more - if he can make it that close of a fight with a guy that could be the champ on any giving night. He dang near put Usmans lights out. Hats off to both.
🐺🐺🐺
He’s definitely not ready for Usman.
Khamzat needs more time
Khamzat is 3rd now, and therefore 1 fight away from a title shot.

Yeah, but his humility and kindness will get him f$#*ed by UFC, easy prey for greedy rats like UFC. Hope his manager help and fight for him well...
That's nice to hear, great words.

@@KrazyJP4 here it comes the Prophet , shut your mouth

Burns sure earned a fan in me from that fight. A bit because of how freaking tough he was, but for his attitude leading up to the fight and the way he's comported himself after the fight.

When burns was down in 1st round, it was crazy even he is under khamzat he was still punching back 💪

I hear Conor wants a fight at 170, and I can’t think of a better guy to welcome him back to the division
Haha Connor don’t want Gilbert only one he fighting at 170 is cowboy again
He will get clapped those guys hit hard
Dang bro, well said 👏👏👏
💯💯💯
Get a life
I love the respect that you said bro
Indeed. 100%!
From hearing lots of interviews about Khamzat, one thing I remember hearing is that he had difficulty getting matches, and so it's the same as Colby where they try to create some hype/get some attention from the media so they get fights. Even Khabib and Zabit had the same problem - nobody wanted to fight them.
Colby avoids fights, he avoided Usman when they were coming up
Kamaru is the only one people avoided. He was the boogie man in 170 pounders.
So humble in defeat man, this guys a true gentleman, massive respect for stepping up brother
We in Chechnya love warriors, and he earned my respect. Dude got strong spirit which we value above all. good fight.
Maybe burns Friends was in hes corner so i think he know better than people who only watch youtube video
@@micahjohnson138 Yeah maybe it was said outside of the broadcast so we didn't hear it.. But from what said on TV the coach for sure said "slåss inte med honom" which means "dont brawl/fight with him"
@@areebhussain4856 maybe his coach was screaming that during the fight
I agree with what many have already said, and that is, outside of official records this was a win for both guys. But I have always been a huge fan of Durinho, and I knew this fight was going to be one of the top fights of 2022.
Thats why you should take risky fights, look at the shine GIlbert gets now. More than he has ever gotten before. Fantastic!
The coach didnt say no more wrestling. The coach said "sluta slåss" meaning stop brawling i.e. throwing uncontrolled punches to put up with a show.
Then khamzat listened, became more controlled with his strikes next round and won.
Was about to comment that aswell, dont know what kind of swedish burns buddy speaks lol
Exakt
This man is so humble, zero ego and very well spoken. I wish he gets to fight nate or masvidal and make some good money before he retires.

Gilbert’s a beast. Fight came down to literally 2-3 strike difference in the end. Absolutely legendary and should be a HOF fight
what a class guy! Such a beast. Gained so many fans from this fight, He really HUMBLED Khamzat.
If you’re not a Casual, you understand that what we witnessed was a clash of Titans. I think Burns has been reignited, not that I think he was stagnant. Just the Warrior who is now haunted by the clash. This could easily be the greatest Trilogy in UFC History.
Why are you talking about a trilogy? We didn't even get a 2nd match
pump the breakes pump the brakes
@@laughinghyena888 Fights that are this good, if we get the 2nd Match unless Khamzat 2-0s him with a 5 Rounder
I loved this matchup. However, I want to see Khamzat vs. Colby!!!

That fight could have gone either way but I think Khamzat had the momentum of the world in his favor.
I don’t think Burns lost, if anything it could have been a draw.
Is definitely a draw , but the judges just decided to fuel the hype train
Spot on. Actually if you look at the actually stat cards on the fight Burns won and at best it’s a draw.
@@Hammertime77 it’s not all about the stat cards tho tbh, you gotta look at the fight to really judge it otherwise if you only look at the stat cards so many fights would go the other way lol
Burns is now the hunter and Khamzat the prey, that’s life son. Run your mouth someone will make you eat your words, just ask McNugget.
A fight can only be declared a draw if one of the rounds was a 10-8 and none of them were khamzat just edged that last round

Im Khamzat fan but Burns suprised me with his heart and will to keep going even on the ground punching back. But would love rematch 5rounds, the fight was one of the best in UFC ever no cap.
That's cap , khamzat wasn't always walking forward when he got hit , burns was tagging him toe to toe an even pushed him back an dropped him , I do think khamzat is legit don't get me wrong but he met an equal force in Gilbert that night
