I have got to watch this movie! So I found this by searching Monk Takes a Vacation. I liked Polly's character she played. Now I am in love with this family and need to find more asap...
I think he did it intentionally bcuz you can see at 4:46 that he took a cup from his right side. Then he saw it, smirked, put the cup back and decided to drink mom's cup. Even Alex noticed that and told him not to :D What was that? I believe that something was in the cup and Nat refused to drink it (maybe the cup was empty or a drink that he doesn't like) and decided to drink from mom's cup. Unfortunately I can't see what happened next bcuz od cut of scene. Later I think he apologised to mom at 6:43 when she caught what he was doing.
