      Anyone who thinks thier are hundreds of youtubers with the same level of knowledge as tactical especially Matt is a little bit out of touch with reality in my opinion. Not saying thier aren't a handful of other quality teaching channels for fishing but hundreds of other channels with same level of content or hundreds of people with Matt's level of experience and accomplishments seems a little bit crazy to me. But I guess like anything this can be argued depending on ur opinions.

    Matt you guys over the last year have lit a fire in me to really commit to these bigger baits. All my buddies think I’m nuts when I show them a Baitsanity Explorer glide or a 8 inch hudd. It’s a whole different outlook on fishing and I love it. I’m in upstate ny near the Adirondacks not too far from Champlain. There are so many great fisheries around me and I’ll be dedication the majority of 2021 to big baits and big upstate NY Bass!

    What makes you prefer the ROF5 hud? I bought one and it takes forrreeever to hit bottom.
    It seems like a faster ROF would help you keep bottom contact?

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I've always preferred an ROF 12 for the jig hook. Now that the ROF 5 is offered in a jighook version (that's new) the slow sink rate forces you to go the right speed to maintain bottom contact.

    What’s the best weight for the 10/O beast hook on the 8” trash fish? All that’s available is a 1/2 oz but that seems heavy. I’d think a 1/4 would probably work best.

  • @goodmanfishing

    Do you use the Tranx for glide baits, or just creeping bottom? I’m concerned the power handle won’t feel right with a faster moving bait.

      I’ll chime in Denny. Both are obviously great to have, but I would get the Ultrex first. I primarily use the poles during the spawn, when I’m bed fishing. They have other uses, such as helping launch and load, but I constantly use spot lock when methodically fishing points and structure, particularly in windy conditions. I hope this helps. Good luck to you.

    • @tacticalbassin

    I remember you guys saying that the trash fish is able to work in cold water, I fished one yesterday and it seems if I have to reel it faster than you have explained to get any tail kick. Is it enough for it to be bumping across bottom and the tail occasionally shimmying?

    • @richardbossman9875
      @richardbossman9875 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I should add that my water isn’t low 40’s yet as I’m in southern Texas.

    • @tacticalbassin
      @tacticalbassin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, the tail barely sashaying and bumping into things is all the movement you need. You do not need the thumping action you would expect.

    • @richardbossman9875
      @richardbossman9875 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      As an update I took the time to really look at the bait as I was barely grinding it across bottom and it absolutely does have a great action. I actually got tagged pretty good (probably a small fish but it got the heart thumping) after a slight pause when I began a 1 minute handle turn.
