Good day, sir! Wow, although heated at certain times, I can't deny that the debate was rich of substantial arguments on whether we should push through the legalization of medical marijuana in the Philippines or not. What I really like about this debate is that both benches, the affirmative and the negative, presented sensible arguments that helped me form my own stand in this issue. This also showed me what an actual debate can look like such as time limit, interpellation, and questions raised from the judges. At the end of the day, it is not about winning the debate or not. It only serves as an avenue for weighing the pros and cons of a certain issue. Thank you for this, sir!
I would like to appreciate the amount of effort and research put into each argument of both parties. They were able to debate professionally and respectfully.
Good day, Sir! Thank you for making this material available to us! God, what an intense debate on the legalization of marijuana in our country! I was able to feel the tension just by watching it. It is such a significant issue with valid arguments on both sides. It made me reflect on my own stance and helped me broaden my perspective about the aforementioned. Indeed, there's really something good about exploring and learning from different viewpoints.
Good day, Sir! Thank you so much for providing this content! I applaud the debaters for demonstrating their expertise and understanding of the subject. It's difficult to predict who would win because both sides provided solid proof to support their arguments. The entire debate is really intense, especially the interpellation! Overall, I learned a lot about the nature, benefits, and disadvantages of marijuana. I agree that we should not put the lives of our citizens at risk by legalizing marijuana. However, we should also not deny them access to its medical benefits. I am hoping that the administration will take this issue seriously and hold in-depth discussions about it. I'm so glad that I got to listen to these outstanding debaters. Again, thank you so much po😊
Good day, Sir! I commend both parties for doing well. I also learned a lot from these debaters. While watching until the end, I understood what a good speech and interpellation should contain. Thank you for providing this video.
Hello sir! I'm Kristelle Tolentino from ABELS 2-4. I've already watched the video and all I can say is WOW. The debaters did a good job. I like how technical they are. Thank you for making this video available to us.
Good day, Sir! After viewing the video, I have gained a comprehensive understanding of the components of the Oregon-Oxford style of debate. I am extremely grateful to you for sharing this informative video.
Good day, sir! Thank you for providing this video. I have now understood more what Oregon-Oxford style of debate is because I have seen an actual example. I have learned plenty of things here.
Good day, Sir! I am particularly amazed how strong their arguments are. I am glad that you have provided us with this content. The way the debaters present themselves with their arguments and sound evidence are impressive. Having watched this debate for our preparation of our upcoming actual debate provide me with things that I and other students should take note of. In the end, I see how important debate is not just because it tackles the pros and cons of an issue, but because it gives an opportunity to critically weigh them.
This video is beneficial, especially for us who will also go under debate. This video provided an overview of how the debate would be held and gave us some insights into what would be done during a debate. Thank you so much for providing this video, Sir.
Good evening, sir! The debate was very intense and I was really invested with their arguments! Kudos to the debaters for staying calm despite the tension. Alliyah Lopez | AB ELS 2-4
Very informative! They must have done a thorough research to be this knowledgeable and be able to prove their point really well. It is indeed a good example for those students honing their debate skills.
Thank you for the video, Sir. Now we have an idea on how debate is performed, this will help us greatly in creating our manuscripts. Also, I can't help but marvel at the skills of the speakers in this video; fingers crossed that we'd get to their level of skill someday.
I can feel the tension between Ateneo Law School and UST Law School. I think it's a good choice that I decided to watch this because it provided me an insight about medical cannabis and also gave me an idea about what debate really looks like.
I really enjoyed this debate! Very professional and focused on technical terms. It was a tough issue to debate for both sides to defend their proposition because it is a voice for people who truly needed the marijuana to treat their illness or diseases but somehow it could turn the tables for people who would use it as their addiction. (Btw ang pogi po nung naunang speaker.)
As a student, I agree to legalize the use of cannabis for all people with serious illnesses, especially those who can't sleep, actually some experts in other countries have said that it is an effective medicine for some illnesses in fact more than 60 countries have decriminalized this plant.
Speakers from Ateneo and UST stand firm with their side and provided information that will enlighten their audiences making this video material very helpful and informative. As a listener, I can't help but sometimes have opinions and rebuttals in my mind which makes this material engaging and will arouse more of your curiosity as you watch it. The arguments of the affirmative and the negative didn't just tackle the surface issue of the legalization of medical cannabis or marijuana in the Philippines, but also let us dive deeper into the context of what positive or negative it may cause in different areas of development. With this, I was able to gain new insights that made me say "Yeah, that actually makes sense", especially with the interpellation parts as it showed me more about what can be offered by one side that the other can't. This debate helped me become knowledgeable not just on this issue but also on how and what is an actual debate that I can use either for my current or future purposes. With these, thank you so much for providing us with this video material, and have a great day, Sir!
First world countries already had this discussion, and they legalized it for both recreational and medical use, those countries have better Government, education and infrastructure, there is no denial that the benefits outweights the negative side of marijuana, why not simply just learn from those countries, and go straight to the point, the herb is a god given plant to us, and people in power ban and punish for it 's use, nowadays, canada / Eu and US almost have it legalized in the whole countries, states, and provinces, and some asian countries already started looking at it and took action, yet when you come to Ph, the opposition says that we'll become Colombia lol, Imagine, you illegaly use it cause you have cancer, and then the gvt will put you in jail for that, "suffer twice mf". the Ph needs it so badly, the population is high, therefore the number of people who suffer from sicknesses that can be cured or be eased by medical marijuana is so high. yet it's so cheap.
