Dusty has not only put his passion into the bison, but has also put that passion into restoring the land to its original state and works on restoring the native plants. He is a hero in my eyes!

That was awesome! He is doing something SO important not just to "The West" but for all of America, preserving a living history of our nation. Just can't thank him enough.

    I just found this!
Dusty, I love being able to show my grandkids Bison on your channel. They can learn about restoring the land in tandem with the bison, and how one affects the other.
I live in Arizona, in a tiny town surrounded by a cattle and horse ranch. We see the cowboys on their horses from time to time.
I wish at least some were bison. They have more than 512,000 acres.
    A girl can dream.
Thanks Dusty & Marisa for what you do.

    ~Linda

Dusty, what a great video! I am a subscriber to your channel and watch it every time a new video comes out. Thanks you! Bison are my favorite animal and I have been to Custer, Black Hills, Theodore Rosevelt, Yellowstone, Tetons, local bison ranchers in Michigan and I can never get enough of this beast. Your name for Dunbar for your first male was so inspiring. I love the movie you acquired the name from. It is one of my favorite. Thank you for sharing your life with us. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family. Mary Thuma

Dusty has really brought us along on his journey of raising North America’s largest animal. You truly feel the spiritual connection of the bison. That really helps to appreciate how the Native American tribes lived and it’s really the only connection that remains. I’m grateful for those who have kept these animals around and increase their numbers.

Thank you Dusty! I’m 4th generation Potawatomi Indian out of Shawnee Oklahoma and Bison has always been a big part of Native American History. When white men came in after putting us all on reservations they found use for Bison and came in and killed them off. Many Native Americans died because Bison wasn’t just for meat but for clothing and so much more. I love you telling this story because it’s also truth. God Bless you and family and all the others who ranch with Bison. Merry Christmas 🎄

A UK comment. I enjoy watching about this ranch. But I wonder how many Americans know that we Europeans too have a bison?
The European Bison came even closer to extinction than the American Bison. About 1920 they were only to be found in zoos; but somebody started a project to save them. I believe they had to be careful how they bred them to avoid too much inbreeding.
Now there are a few places where they are wild again. I'm told that in Alaska you have a few American Wood Bison; similarly European Bison are woodland animals. There are populations in the Bialowieza Forest in Poland, and I think now in Romania and the Netherlands. We've now got some in England, in Kent. We haven't had bison in Britain since the Ice Age, but we have a few as a conservation experiment, to keep the underbrush down in woodland.
They are taller than American Bison, but less chunky.

I’m just watching now Dusty, the series that was on about the American bison and it’s near extinction. It’s a 4 hr program and I dvr’d it a while back and just now watching. It’s fascinating…and will be horrific what’s to come. Right now it’s about the needs and uses of the bison for the American Indians. They hunted them and used every inch of the bisons body for their survival. Then the greed will begin with the white man slaughtering them. There used to be tens of millions. I know you know all this but thanks to you I can witness how you care for them and use for purpose and needs. Thanks

Diversification. Do you know about their cottages which they rent out? You dont think TH-cam brings in a few dollars. The merch they sell? Diversification is what matters. And Dusty and Marissa are super smart. They will make money dont you worry.
