Hey Trent. I'm working on getting my pilot license and hoping that one day I can make it out your way from Minnesota to show me a little thing or two about true bush flying. You're the main reason I took the leap to start working towards getting my private pilots license after having an incredibly irrational fear of flying basically since I was 6 years old and flew on a plane for the first time. Love the videos and the wise words and motivation you put in all your videos. The places you fly to look like the way to live life to the fullest.

Trent, I’ve enjoyed all of your videos from the beginning. Said “hello” to you at 2018 Air Venture. I must say that your most recent video “This is what it’s all about...” is simply best-of-the-best. Although I have many wonderful flying memories, after watching this video, I could only ask myself “what the hell happened to time?” (I’m 72). I still fly, own several airplanes, and now more committed than ever to “get out there!” Thanks for being there!! LVG
Loren Gallagher couldn’t agree with you more, I’m also72 own too many things with wings 😄 Kitfox, luscombe Lazair etc. Life is what you make it. Trent’s got it right!
Learn to Scuba Dive. I did years ago after my dad died before he could retire. It's cheap, and then go on a dive trip to some place you would never go to. Roatan is one place I can recommend. Explore the vast wonders under the surface, and you will be amazed! Then take up flying......
You have this incredible knack... Every time there is a hiccup or bump along the way in my process of getting flying and I'm pissed off and ready to go screw it - Trent pops up with another video! and another reason to remind me why I bought a Kitfox and why I started this journey! So here is to making the time, to getting out more and to flying!!
Hey Trent. I do the same thing in 4WD's. Look for the most remote places I can find, all over the world. I also love to fly taildraggers. I want to do a piece on your channel, for mine. We need to do a collab mate. LOVE your style man! Please get in touch.
I have been wanting to get my PPL for a couple years now. It was a dream of mine that waxed and waned in my mind. Watching other aviation channels I was encouraged by the trips and cool flights, but then overwhelmed by the seemingly endless planning and paperwork. It began to feel not worth the couples of hours every few weeks that I would be able to actually get out. Then I found your channel, and all the simple joy of bush planes. As someone who loves hiking and offroading, THIS is the kind of flying that speaks to the deepest parts of me. Where its not about going from A to B but just going somewhere. It's about the journey and what we find along the way. This video was the final spark I needed. I am starting my training soon and hopefully finding my way into a Kitfox (I may even build my own). Thank you so much for showing people, in my opinion, the best parts of GA.
@@JKR_A320 Thats actually so true though, If you have enough for a 300-400k home, then you certainly have enough to say "hey why don't I just get a 250k home, and shoot for a finance on a plane that's 120k". It really depends how you look at it and what you want out of your life.
I watch your videos faithfully and enjoy them tremendously, but I have never commented on one until now. This video and your commentary illustrates your point exactly. And although I subscribe to the very same belief of living life to the fullest, your video reinforces and intensifies the concept in a very inspirational way. Good job Trent. Your one of the reasons why TH-cam is a great platform.
it's nice to want to enjoy life to its fullest...but only for those that can afford it...we must remember that there are those less fortunate than us that view these videos and wish they to could do these things and others. 68% of Americans earn minimum wage when adjusted for local economics...this is a staggering number and is indicative of a shrinking middle class. So, enjoy your big boy toys, just like I do, (I'll be soloing here shortly) but remember to help those less fortunate...choose a viewer to ride along perhaps ; )Love the posts Trent. PS, thanks for encouraging your friends and the Flying Cowboys to create vlogs because they're great also.
That's the thing I love about aviation! Doesn't matter who comes to the airport rich or poor, us pilots love sharing the passion of flying with everyone! (Also gives us an excuse to fly more)
Jon Doe, true words. Trent's message is not a universal one, but for those who can hear it and be inspired by it. For others, life' s impediments are too great to be easily overcome.
It’s easy to have these great views on life when everything is going great and you are wealthy. Trent is not being realistic , it’s a great point he is trying to make but as you said not practical for most.
Yup, the choices seem to be between working your a-- off and having no time (or much money, for that matter), or not working enough and having no money.
Great message Trent. We get caught up in the day-to-day routines and its seems so hard to get out of. But there really is no reason we shouldn't try to get out and have some fun while we can.
I call this "the someday principal". People often say "someday I'm going to...." I say "today" and do it. Now I have, for the most part, been there...done that and have a lifetime of memories, exsperiences and treasured moments. Live on my freind, explore, experience and live life to the fullest. Not just words but a way of life.
Right on Trent from this 75 year old powered parachute flyer. Loving every hour and enjoying one of the things I would like to be doing through your adventures. Great message in this video.
Hey Trent, you’re singing my song in this video. I retired 3 yrs ago and bought a clip wing Cub to travel the country. I haven’t done it yet but hopefully will soon. By the way, I just ate some cherry pie first!
Needed that today. I have a good paying job that I just found out I might be out of in the next few weeks. It has me all sorts of stressed but this helped out and has me realizing that I am not doing what I love and the routine that I am in slowly eats away at me. Thanks Trent, I appreciate that and I hope I get to see you in Reno at the races.
You're a poet and probably don't even know it...I must say, you're flying is the tangible representation of your verse. Great job. We're lucky to have you in the TH-cam community.
IMO @Trent Palmer, this is the best vlog you have ever done. Yes...even better than the Oshkosh series. You make me want to stop wishing and start doing. Take a year off... while you still can. Jobs are easy to find. Go make something worth keeping :D
As an old fart I love seeing you guys doing things and enjoying life - just wish I was way younger (than 73). Keep the vids coming - "Flying Cowboys" rock :) Thanks for another super video Trent.
@@ChrisB257 Get acquainted with an EAA group. Beg, borrow, or split gas for rides. They'll love ya too go around with them. Me? I've been flying since 10, and a licensed comm. pilot and mechanic for 50 years. I need a Fox, and move to Reno.
Chris, it ain't over 'til it's over. Health issues and personal financial issues can be trying for many seniors. But, on the other hand, I see old ladies in their 80's and 90's jumping out of airplanes because it is on their bucket list. So start a bucket list, Chris. And if you ever decide to jump out of an airplane, please remember to wear a parachute. 😄
Thanks for the encouragement! I'm actually less interested in just para jumping - more actual flying. Ultralight way back was nice but really need a bit of proper stick time - so, might see if I can get a lesson two if affordable just to get one or two flights in a small GM - which is but a fraction of my theoretical bucket list! :)
Love the video, the music and the message. As a two time cancer survivor, I can attest to living life to its fullest. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I watch a lot of aviation videos. Yours and the other Flying Cowboys are by far my favorite.
Trent, I think... I KNOW that quote "Life is too short to eat dessert last" must go on a shirt and/or a cap! Please! Your vids rock, your plane rocks, you and your friends are top notch. Thanks for the joy and inspiration you give me and so many others.
What's stopping me? uhhmm well... - The european flight regulations. - The low air chart of europe. - Having a spare 10 K to get my license - having 2 years of my life to get that license - my job. -... If i could get a job as a technician/mechanic in canada(then i would do it in a heartbeat). But that's not as easy as it sounds.
0DAANVART0 Don’t let a little (wind) I call it. Stop you from getting where you want to be! The wind blows everywhere in the world. Even here in Canada. It’s not the wind that determines where you go, it’s the set of your sail. Coming to canada isn’t impossible, just takes some time and determination. Especially if you have a certified skill set. And about flying, fly a parachute if you have to, it’s no less fun!
There's nothing more true than what you've said. Working is good, It keeps things rolling but there's no point in working endlessly and having no time to relax and think about what has been accomplished. No matter what you're passion is, You have to make time for it. Everything from throwing yourself off the side of a slope to sitting a reading a book. If you enjoy it, Make time for it. Sometimes things can be thrown in the way of you enjoying yourself but there will be many other opportunities. Keep those wings in the sky man, I love just sitting back watching your content.
I'm doin' it Trent. Took some famly up this weekend for a site seeing flight. They loved it, I loved, we got together and had a ball. I loved flying to a new airport, met some people, and feel like I am addicted to having fun! Your vlogs help, no doubt, to let me take some caculated chances. ThanksTrent
Yeah... there's no means to "get out there' when you work 50-60hrs a week and only pull in 25k a year. Some of us are doing good to eat, have a home, and a functioning car. I get your sentiment, but there's a lot of people where fear isn't the holdback.
Exactly right. What about building a home, raising three kids through college, caring for them and a wife, being responsible at home and enjoying all that just as much as flying away would do?
I’m getting near retirement age, having already retired from the US Air Force, and also have worked over 26 years now for the biggest name in the world for corporate jets. After hearing you, I’ve decided I need to adjust my outlook on the future. Life is indeed to short to eat dessert last. Thanks from a die-hard low and slow STOL pilot and mechanic.
Trent thanks for saying this. I've been practicing your philosophy since I was young. Now that I'm old enough (69) for my ability to engage in the most strenuous physical activities is winding down, I am grateful for all those memories I created. I can't imagine staring at life's end with nothing but work and TV behind me. Earth is beautiful, and life is good.
I actually cried during his speech, because I know I won't be successful, I have many disabilities that make me unable to be seen as a normal human in today's society. Thinking of this combined whit bullying I had many suicide attempts.
It's painful. I'm in a similar position myself, no money, no capability due to health issues. All I've found I can do is live vicariously through others and enjoy any moments that are possible in my life.
Yoran Bollue Sorry for your pain and suffering. Be strong of mind and appreciate simpler pleasures if you can. I’ve had long accident recoveries. It’s tough.
Yoran, my uncle broke his neck at 18 and became a paraplegic yet he became a pilot and crop duster for 17 years. Yes we had to help him load the plane and get out when he got to tired but he did this. Don’t tell yourself you can’t
The first time I showed up to this channel was when Flite Test went to fly with you. Since then, I've watched every video. You've made it my life goal to go out and buy a plane when I get out of school and make enough money. Thanks, Trent.
Oh, I wish everything you said were true, unfortunately lack of money and no go medical issues really aren't artificial walls, but in fact very real limits, otherwise anyone who knows me knows I would be spending my life flying rather than watching other people do it on youtube.

Hey Trent, I’m 15 and I have loved planes my whole life. Your videos are so inspiring. When I’m old enough I’m going to get my license and buy a bush plane. Hopefully I will get to go on adventures like you.
I love this video. The best one you have posted yet. It personally resonates with me as I turn 50 next year. I have spent the last 30 years working my butt off and helping my wife raise 3 wonderful kids. They have grown up and left home and I often feel like now is the time to take that chance and throw it all in. Go try and salvage whats left of life before its all over. Keep up the good work.
Great way to enjoy your passion. The message doesn't fall on deaf ears. I spent my younger years working and enjoying flying, telling people I may not have a dime left to retire on. We fooled them, life is great and your message is well received. Keep on enjoying your life!
I love when worlds collide and we get JP and Trent in the same videos. Also, the face you make @ 5:40 when a paraglider pilot tells you that your plane feels slow.
Great stuff man! I've been of that mindset since I was young, but never knew how I was going to make it work. Life becomes so monotonous doing the eat, sleep, work rat-race. Things fell into place one day, many, many years later, when I gave up driving trucks & decided to work for myself turning wrenches. Now, instead of working myself to the bone, I can make time to do whatever it is I need to do to blow off steam. I pick and choose what jobs I want to do, and how many. Money is alot slower to come in, so I just have to wait alot longer to save money to buy toys. A small price to pay (for me) for my freedom. The next toy is going to be a paramotor - cannot wait for that day!
This is your best video on TH-cam by far. Great cinematography combined with excellent sound design all tied together with an amazing call to action. Great message which I wholeheartedly agree.
Bam! You nailed it, Trent! I was just thinking the other day about how much I enjoy watching your videos then it hit me ... why am I not out having my own adventures too? Great video, Sir!
Dude....seriously...one of your best videos. I'm dreaming about flying since i was 13. My uncle used to own a glider wich i should use for making my pilots license. unfortunatly he sold his plane way to early and i wasnt able to make the license. one of my collegues is a privat pilot and sometimes he will take me for a "ride". i wish, here in germany, we could fly like you guys. here there isnt something like bushflying, landing on epic mountain ridges or on some empty fields. i'm having friends in wisconsin and everytime i'm able to visit them i really enjoy the "freedom" over there. Thanks for bringing me memories back and making me daydreamin about living in the us and flying bushplanes someday
Trent, you doing such a good job of showing the sport and the passion. I most appreciated your waxing poetic at the end about Life. People need to hear that. We all need to answer the call of the wild. ~ your neighbor.
Saw Nick out at Auburn, would’ve stopped and said hello but he looked busy and I needed to get to my IFR lesson. Very noticeable airplane he has though can’t miss it. Love the work you guys do, really helps with the motivation to keep going with the training. Thanks for the awesome video!
Since I was 4 years old and was taken up by a man in his Cessna and he allowed me to put my tiny hands on the yoke in front of me, I remember I couldn't see anything but the instrument panel and this steering mechanism in front of me, I looked at him and then I looked at the yoke and put my hands on it. It was at that moment the desire for flight had been seared onto my heart. Now at 46 I am getting closer and closer to my own private pilot's license and these videos only fuel that desire even more. Awesome stuff!!!
You are the reason I’m making it my 2019 goal to get my private license and start working towards my own plane. Videos like this and all your others make me realize how much I want to be able to go where ever I want, when I want.
This is my favorite one so far brotha! I'm always telling people to live life! It is waaayyyy too short and too big of a world to not explore every inch! I started a podcast to discuss this very thing with entrepreneurs! The Fearless Pursuit of Freedom! Love to have you on to talk about your business and how you are pursuing this thing we call freedom!
Man your videos are a big reason why I want to get my license and start flying I know it’s going to be a bit by the time I get the money saved up to start but seeing your video just keep pushing me to get it done and this video just amazes me of what I’ll eventually be able to do.
Trent, Best video yet.... I only have four hours in a 172 but your content has inspired me to get back at it and go for my Drone license and my Private. Loving the Kitfox capabilities and hope to see you next year at the High Sierra Fly In. (Personal goal).... Keep it up, your work is greatly appreciated!

This one hit me squarely in the chest. Effin hell, I need to make some serious life changes! Thanks for the reminder!
Don't let them keep you down.
Learn to Scuba Dive. I did years ago after my dad died before he could retire. It's cheap, and then go on a dive trip to some place you would never go to. Roatan is one place I can recommend. Explore the vast wonders under the surface, and you will be amazed! Then take up flying......
Just don't do them both at the same time, i'm pretty sure that is actually a question in the human performance PPL test here in the UK!
Me too

There are more airplanes in the ocean than submarines in the sky.
I love the designs on Paul’s plane it’s cool looking.
That topographical map pattern is sick!
Love it!
Overlander here too. Southern Az.
"It's not about making money, you can always make more of that"
easy to say when you have a private plane
You make your own boundaries buddy! Where there is a will, there is a way.
Best Yet Trent... Thanks, especially for the end of the video.
Incredible cinematography and great story too. So many of us need to be reminded to really live life well. I love what you guys are doing!
it's nice to want to enjoy life to its fullest...but only for those that can afford it...we must remember that there are those less fortunate than us that view these videos and wish they to could do these things and others.
10/10 - Beautiful cinematography, scenery, story & message. This one ought to go far and wide. Truly what it's all about. Well done.
Damn day job keeps getting in the way...
Yup, the choices seem to be between working your a-- off and having no time (or much money, for that matter), or not working enough and having no money.
time, money, sleep. Pick 2.
Awesome, new video! I love your content, man! 😁✈️
This is the greatest single thing I have ever witnessed.
Mister jib jab: Add to it by grabbing a couple of flying lessons if you can....make it happen....believe me it’s worth it.👍
Glenn Llewellyn oh I know, I’ve almost got my private and choosing to fly for a career has been the best decision I’ve made so far🤘🏽
Mister jib jab: SWEEEEEET!!!
Wow that was amazing. Gave me chills, I think everyone needs to see this and hear that profound message. Thank you
As an old fart I love seeing you guys doing things and enjoying life - just wish I was way younger (than 73). Keep the vids coming - "Flying Cowboys" rock :)
Thanks for another super video Trent.
How much younger will you be 3 yrs from now??
Haha - may be worm food by then! :) Cash is what I need unfortunately.

Get acquainted with an EAA group.
Great message man! Definetly agree with you on it. I see so many people so focussed on grinding out life, without them realize they're missing out!
Your best video yet imo.
Love the video, the music and the message. As a two time cancer survivor, I can attest to living life to its fullest. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I watch a lot of aviation videos. Yours and the other Flying Cowboys are by far my favorite.
Live is to short to eat dessert last. Love that quote lmao
What... do you mean life?
Trent, I think... I KNOW that quote "Life is too short to eat dessert last" must go on a shirt and/or a cap! Please! Your vids rock, your plane rocks, you and your friends are top notch. Thanks for the joy and inspiration you give me and so many others.
"Life is too short to eat dessert last" ... HAHAA... Wait till you have kids ;-)
Tony Lorenzo then it will be “ Life is too short to let your kids have your dessert”.
The poor old Kitfox'll be the first thing to go when THAT happens!

No way he'd give that plane up. He'd just find another with more seats!
Yes, the narration really touched a chord in me... one I need to start strumming. Thank you Trent, and great video!
What's stopping me?
uhhmm well...
- The european flight regulations.
- The low air chart of europe.
- Having a spare 10 K to get my license
- having 2 years of my life to get that license
- my job.

If i could get a job as a technician/mechanic in canada(then i would do it in a heartbeat).
But that's not as easy as it sounds.

Don’t let a little (wind) I call it.
That you Russ? Was going to respond to Odaanvarto but you already said it. Cheers
I already fly a paramotor, but even those regulations are very strict.
Everyone in this world can make a list of why they can't do something, but some people don't let that stop them.
@@KnightDriveTV dude, this is the same as saying to a homeless person to just get a job.
Thanks, Trent! For making the channel more than entertainment and for using it as a force for positive change. Most of all, thanks for being real.
ThanksTrent
Trent,
I will take your advice! God has truly blessed us with a wonderful world, wonderful people, and.....airplanes!
I have flight training out of Auburn today at 6 pm. Once I Solo, Red Bluff, Eureka ect is on my route. See you next spring I'll head that way :)
Yeah... there's no means to "get out there' when you work 50-60hrs a week and only pull in 25k a year.

And what was Red Bull's contribution to this "chance encounter"? Did they write the speech or did you?
All I've found I can do is live vicariously through others and enjoy any moments that are possible in my life.
it's nice to know that i can relate to someone
Yoran Bollue Sorry for your pain and suffering. Be strong of mind and appreciate simpler pleasures if you can. I’ve had long accident recoveries. It’s tough.
thanks
Yoran, my uncle broke his neck at 18 and became a paraplegic yet he became a pilot and crop duster for 17 years. Yes we had to help him load the plane and get out when he got to tired but he did this. Don’t tell yourself you can’t
The first time I showed up to this channel was when Flite Test went to fly with you. Since then, I've watched every video. You've made it my life goal to go out and buy a plane when I get out of school and make enough money. Thanks, Trent.
6:30 Kind of need money to do this but yeah haha
Sharing so unselfishly - thanks so much Trent - Greetings from South Africa
Oh, I wish everything you said were true, unfortunately lack of money and no go medical issues really aren't artificial walls, but in fact very real limits, otherwise anyone who knows me knows I would be spending my life flying rather than watching other people do it on youtube.
I swear the production gets better and better every time you post! very nice indeed!

Awesome visuals, pace and narration. That's truly one of the best pieces of content out there!
Fantastic. Thanks for this Trent.
50 yrs a pilot. I need a Fox.
Hey Trent, I’m 15 and I have loved planes my whole life. Your videos are so inspiring. When I’m old enough I’m going to get my license and buy a bush plane. Hopefully I will get to go on adventures like you.
You got your license yet!?
I stumbled on the channel not that long ago and subscribed, I am loving it
Thank you
Great message. I think that to myself everyday but still see myself doing the same grind. Time to get out there!
Beautiful message. Could not agree more.
Beautiful message!!! Love the footage, the flying and the video all around. Definitely going to share this one.
Great video and message! Im 70 and did work away most youth and strength.
Great job Trent thanks for the encouraging words got to get me a Kitfox!
Been watching Paul’s impressive vlog, glad you guys got together!
Great message Trent, keep up the good stuff! I gotta get out there sometime soon and fly with you guys!
Wow. Great thoughts. Here I am trying to get time off work to focus on my check ride. Sadly, I always put work first and miss out.
That narration was incredible, Trent! Your videos I something aspire to man!! Keep it up!
Great philosophy on life... Thanks for taking me with you.
It’s a vlog about life’s journey viewed from a cockpit.
Thanks Trent you inspire me.
Totally found your channel by chance and already loving the content. After this video I'm more determined than ever to continue my GAPL training
Love this Trent! Shared it with my whole family! Thanks!
Stunning visuals, fantastic message. Thanks for the reminder!
You are the reason I’m making it my 2019 goal to get my private license and start working towards my own plane. Videos like this and all your others make me realize how much I want to be able to go where ever I want, when I want.
Did you get your license!? In 2018 I did a career change into aviation. And now I’m flying an e-190. Don’t ever give up!
A beautiful video and an awesome message. Thanks Trent!
You changed my life! I now am officially starting my journey to become a pilot. I look forward to meeting you some day!
Man your videos are a big reason why I want to get my license and start flying I know it’s going to be a bit by the time I get the money saved up to start but seeing your video just keep pushing me to get it done and this video just amazes me of what I’ll eventually be able to do.
great message Trent, every day is a blessing and an opportunity to make memories, work toward goals and live life intentionally. keep inspiring, dude!
You’re so right👍🏻 Thanks for this wonderful reminder😃👊🏻
Trent,
Best video yet.... I only have four hours in a 172 but your content has inspired me to get back at it and go for my Drone license and my Private. Loving the Kitfox capabilities and hope to see you next year at the High Sierra Fly In. (Personal goal).... Keep it up, your work is greatly appreciated!
Looks like Nick has a good feel for his new Kitfox. The high desert is one my favorite places to go. Beauty all it's own.....
Dam, this is so cool watching you join up with JP. Watched his entire flight vlog with Louis earlier in the year. That was definitely another adventure to watch! Keep the videos coming Trent!
Absolutely EPIC Trent! I think this is a level up in your content in all aspects. Music was spot on. I got chills during that last paragliding sequence. 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Your sin motography is amazingly incredible. You have such a gift. Thank you for sharing it with us
