You can use a hundred in a small book without bulking it up, they even work on Bibles. I recently discovered magnetic bookmarks (love the small ones like butterflies or flowers as they are short and not in the way of the text). Transparent and translucent sticky notes are another game changer...
Yes, they're great. But have you ever dropped one while you were reading in your comfortable reading chair? It's like they get sucked into a blackhole or another dimension. You can never find them again.
