Thank you buddy, that’s what I thought happened to my jeep liberty 08. I have a coolant leak from the water pump, and I think some of it got to this sensor possibly. Will check it out soon hopefully
Thanks. I have a 2007 Jeep Liberty that the ESP / BAS light, traction light (squiggly lines), and ABS light came on all at the same time. And whatever the cause seems to be causing the acceleration to vary, as if power is being cut to some wheels, or all of them. I want to disable all of those features to see if the acceleration issue stops. I don't need them. The lights can stay on, I don't care. Do you know if I can do so with fuses or relays? Thanks!
Looks like I'm having the same (or similar) issue with the new to me 08 Liberty. It was fine during test drives, and even my mechanic didn't say anything during pre-purchase inspection.On the way home after picking it up from the dealer (as traded, as is) those lights came on for a while, then went out again. Hopefully a relative easy fix.
Dear clay I'm having the same lights on in my 06 jeep liberty 4x4 I've bought all 3 new sensors and will be replacing them when I do and start my jeep will I need to drive to get the lights off or will my ECU automatically sense they arent bad and automatically make the lights go away
Hello Jon good morningEvery time you start the vehicle the ECM should recognize the sensors sometimes you move it a little bit and they will go off sometimes they go off by themselves depends on the make and the model I don’t remember if Jeep does it right away or if it takes a second or two. I don’t ever remember having to reset the lights for ABS wheel speed sensors on any vehicle that I can remember sometimes they do manufacturing changes During assembly so it’s possible but very unlikely. I think if you throw them in there even if it doesn’t reset it self it won’t hurt anything have a great day god bless
Hello....very helpful vid and i can stop panicking my dash lit up like its Christmas. lost tyre pressure on front sensor 30s after a turn on full lock then all these lights come on 2mins later, tyre is fine and she drives fine so have ordered replacement part before i start paying for someone to source the problem. hoping im not too late to get on this wagon. i got a 2006 jeep liberty. a few weird issues. firstly, it shakes quite heavily during idle (i also noticed that the center of the ac compressor pulley will spin and then stop spinning). however, if im driving and accelerate heavily the tcs comes on, and then i ease off and slowly accelerate which makes it turn off. happens around 50mph everytime. any ideas? just replaced water pump and it wasnt running as hard before, but now it is

2006 Jeep Liberty with 200K miles... Runs BEAUTIFULLY, no worries, BUT, now, I just pulled out of the driveway, and just at walking speed (2-3 mph) coming to a stop before turning out onto the road, I heard a grinding noise, and I could even feel what felt like metal-on-metal coming through the brake pedal, and it even seemed to kicked back at my foot a bit, and in that moment, the “ESP BAS” light came on, as did the traction control (squiggly lines) light, and the check engine light. I released the brake pedal, and then the brakes worked fine, no noise or vibration, but the lights are still on. What should I check first? Could this also be the wheel speed sensor? Do I need special tools?

It had WELL OVER 200,000 miles on it and could have gone another 200K, but she “stole” my Jeep from me. I never fixed the problem. It was driveable without fixing it, and then when I thought about getting it fixed, BAM!, crazy woman texting and driving! 😭😭😭
Sorry I never seen this message before I would’ve been able to help I would think Definitely sounds like a wheel speed sensor had something possibly stuck inside the relocked ring so the wheel speed sensors need to come out or at least the one that is affected and causing the problem you would find this out through A scan. If it’s an intermittent situation hopefully it’s just a piece of something stuck inside there if it’s not it could be a chafed wire that has rubbed up against something and is wearing away the plastic coating. Hope that information finds you well.

Well that sounds like a pretty simple problem I may be incorrect because this is just a text message but I’d be willing to bet that there’s a broken solder point on your control board in your instrument cluster. Do you want to send it to me and I’ll see if I can fix it. I’ve never heard of that issue but maybe it’s more common than we know of so that might make a good video
I had this happen this past week (abs/trac/serv4wd) on a 2012 I just bought and the left rear axle is bent(not reported on carfax and was also making a rotational noise known to the dealer😡)...at least that’s what they said is causing it after sending me on my way to drive on it for a week or so saying nothing was wrong :/.hoping it didn’t damage diff/bearings/rotors/etc. I’m not allowed to speak directly with the mechanic or see the problems/damage for myself, which makes me not trust them at all. In a hurry to get it back so I can find any other things wrong like this (and the intermediate shaft they’re replacing) covered under the warranty before it expires ...I’m not their most ideal customer😬. I would trust you to check everything Clay, but you’re far away :/. Thank you for the videos though, very helpful!!

Well if it runs and drives I say run it. Of course I can’t know for sure what is going on and if he will damage something doesn’t sound like it though. And from my experience with these particular lights it generally does not stop it from running and driving or make it less safe but it certainly turns off the ABS system so that basically means it goes back to regular brakes and won’t pulsate if you start sliding. Sorry wish I could be more definitive than that but that’s the best I can do with the information given welcome to the channel and God bless have a great day

I don't have a scanner. Does AutoZone scan for these types of codes? Also some people say it's the steering angle sensor. How do I know where the problem is?
I have a 2005 liberty Crd. The odometer and trip recorder is not recording and readout for the km/l reads at the maxm and doesn't change. Sometimes the abs light comes on but then goes off but the trip, odometer and km/l readout not functioning... What do you suggest

I have the service manual for the 2006 I’m not 100% certain if I have the PDF service manual for the 11 but I can take a look. It should be fairly similar though. And this is the 2007 to 2012 model that you’re talking about so any of them years should be near identical with a very very little changes
@@sharpcarcoI offer this update a couple years later: I found out that my front sensors were both broken, and I see a broken wire in the back (it’s quite visible from the outside); I bought those connectors as you did with this one, but it doesn’t appear that I need them. However, thanks to you, I had what I needed for my Chrysler minivan that had a bad alternator and broken connector, it turns out it’s the same one. You rock, Clay!
Great video , that could be the cause on my 2006, however i got those lights off for just a second and only sometime stomping on the brake..any idea on that ? Could be the abs senor on the calipers ?!
I would have to guess when you push on the break it moves some kind of wire. Or the axle is flexing and it moves the reluctor ring away from the sensor. Or you have a bad wheel bearing and it is moving them are the only things I can think of off the top of my head
Nice video! I got the abs going on every time i stomp on break on my 2006 and after breaking a few time all the lights go on the dash and the abs just doesn't come up anymore, turn engine off/on and everything goes back to the way it was...could it be it ? Or could be the abs sensor ?

Well your ABS is how your speedometer knows what speed you were going so it makes sense that your ABS light is on each individual wheel has an ABS sensor that measures the speed of the automobile I honestly can’t remember but it is possible that there is a speed sensor that is separate from the ABS sensors you’re going to have to have it looked at by a professional or you’re going to have to have it scanned by a professional to tell you which sensor to change sorry I wish I could be of more help
Drill it out you’re replacing it anyways. Hope that helps if it doesn’t give me a little bit more description on what your meaning and I will try to help it’s just made a plastic

I believe when you spin the tires that light is supposed to blink because some tires are moving faster than others. I’m assuming the other noise that you’re hearing is probably the transfer case because you’re spinning the tires Jeep liberty’s Are not really off-road vehicles like Jeep Wrangler’s used to be jeep is done excellent job of pulling the public but Jeep liberty is pretty much a Dodge Durango

More than likely one of your wheel speed sensors is not working. But extremely difficult to guess over a text message

Do the lights come on before you move the vehicle? Or did they just come back on right away?

I certainly believe that it absolutely would be the wheel speed sensor being pulled tight
It most certainly could be the wheel speed sensor that would be a very reasonable deduction
I replaced all of the wheel speed sensors and I still have the ABS traction control and ESP light on what could be my problem
And it is an 09 Jeep

I have a 2012 Jeep Liberty. the ESC off light comes when Im driving, after a few minutes of coming on my vehicle shuts off.
