    @UaEsKnight Thanks. Fuel economy looks like it has improved but really to soon to tell. Also gear change seems smoother. Will report later.

    I can’t seem to find the update video. I know this was quite a long time ago but did you post one? How did this work out? I’ve got an old 1991 model and seems to be a fine running machine so I might leave it alone.

      I did post one quite some time later. The bike seemed to run better but that was only "seat of the pants" type stuff. I actually haven't seen that particular Nulon product for sale lately so I assume it's been withdrawn from the market. Personally I'd just do the regular oil changes etc on your bike and leave well alone. Thanks for commenting and ride safe.

    Yeah thanks for the vid I bought Kawasaki 10w 40 synthetic oil that's better than that Castro isn't it and is that alright for the DR 650 because they are real specific on what type of oil you should use because of the wet clutch I think my oil will be better though I hope I only have a Kawasaki dealership near me and I own a Suzuki dr650 which I love

      B Man Sounds like a good oil. I'm sure it will be fine in the DR as long as you don't tell the oil its a Suzuki :-}

    @ratnest00757 Hey thanks for your concern. But this Nulon treatment does not affect wet cluches. As mentioned earlier it bonds metal to metal not fibre and metal. With regard to the oil. I have had no issues with this oil and I know of DR650 riders in the outback of AUSTRALIA that use the very same stuff. Out their it gets very hot believe me. So if they use it so will I. The oil gets changed every 5000klm's and is running like clockwork.

    @ratnest00757 Good for you. What are you riding at the moment? I've read a lot of the the oil debates and theirs heeps. Because temps in this part of the planet rarely exceed 25degC I am of the opinion that "magnatec 10w40" is fine in the mighty DR.If there are any specials going on diesel oil next change I might try that.

    How do you keep your engine so clean??

  • @mrcina8621

    Just did mine and only 1.9L came out blowed out with air pump! After putting new oil in 2.3 L and let it run for few minutes shows way to much over the full line! Should I remove extra oil?

    • @MothershipVideos
      @MothershipVideos  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Probably a good idea to drain some out. Then start it up for a minute and shut down ,Leave it for two minutes and then check level. Ride safe.

      @@MothershipVideos will do that, any tips for to pull out extra without removing nut?

      Syringe and some plastic pipe?

    • @kgill5
      @kgill5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Although not as clean as using a syringe and plastic tubing, after tucking a few rags below, loosen the filter cover and you’ll remove up to a 100 cc at a time.

    Where is the little o-ring that goes between the filter and the case? Check the diagrams.

    Just regular washing I guess. Might do the occasional gravel/dirt road but not often.

  • @MothershipVideos
    @MothershipVideos  12 ปีที่แล้ว

    No problem. Remember it isn't the DR oil change bible just the way I do things. Happy riding.

    Approx 2.4 litres and boy was that stuff hot. Thanks for commenting i hope its of some help. Just be careful of the oil filter spring when you remove the cover and filter.

    You do realize that you aren't suppose to use friction proofing oil in a motorcycle because they have a wet clutch
    Also the oil you used is designed for car engines not motorcycle engines which has a gear box the viscosity index improvers are certain to get rendered ineffective as time passes as a result of getting compressed within the clutch system and gears not to mention the heat that will be generated in the bike could go outside the heat range of the car oil

      Mate that was recorded on an old Sony Hi8 tape Camera. Can't have cut it out when editing. It was rather strange I must admit. Thanks for watching.

    Oh bull wacky. One does not an oil flush. Just get the engine hot, let it drain for awhile, I am never ever in a hurry when it comes to oil changes, replace the filter and refill the engine to the correct level. Use the correct oil and filter too.

      Perhaps you could post a video showing everyone how it's done properly. Ride safe.
