Hi, I pack each day’s clothes in gallon zip lock baggie and sit on it to force out the air. It works like expensive compression cube, all are the same size for easy packing, and dirty clothes go back in the baggie to keep carry-on smelling nice
The Hefty 2.5 gallon bags are also amazing for compression packing, especially for bulkier items. The opening is wide and easy to fill, and can be pliable enough when filled to squish in tighter places. Happy travels.
Yes me too. Began doing this in 2004 after each holiday created a huge wash pile for me to wash everything, even if we didnt wear it. I needed a solution so I began using ziploc bags about a4 size or bigger, and put in one day of clothes per bag and sit on it to seal air tight. When i get home, I dont have to wash whatever was never worn as it is still sealed up tight in the ziplock. Muliply by 4 people and that saves me a lot of washing.
Here’s a packing hack for your rain jacket. Lay it out flat, fold everything towards the middle. Roll from the bottom all the way up to the hood, then tuck into the hood and cinch it down and tie it with the strings. It makes a small ball and it can fit into small spaces.
I've found it easier to control the rolling of the rain jacket if I tuck the sleeves inside the body of the jacket so they don't awkwardly poke out while rolling it up.
@@baskervillebee6097 Ooh I love this visual hack. Thanks for sharing. We had 40 degrees with 40% chance of rain every day last week so I debated taking the rain jacket or my winter coat. Ended up packing the winter one.
Not only do I love your videos, I REALLY enjoy reading all the comments. It's great to find out what other people are doing, and sometimes find out that one is not alone in one's idiosyncrasies. Thanks Laurie. Now, off to do some more Laurie binge watching.
I traveled 5 days a week for for 20 years in one 22" carry on. All clothes were wrinkle free plus I carried a small bottle of wrinkle free spray just in case and usually 2 pairs of shoes plus wha I was wearing. I never wore the same thing more than one day. Its all about how you fold. My makeup was simple and always neutral to go will anything. People tend to carry too much becaus they dont plan their outfits out in advance for daily wear. I also packed friday on bottom Tuesday on top.
I think this is key - planning outfits to match your activities. So you’re not just packing all your favourite clothes. It’s a little more work because it means being more mindful of your outfits but it’s worth it. It eliminates packing clothes for “just in case” and “I want options.” I also wear jeans, skirts and shorts more than once and ensure that tops can go with more than one bottom. Any top that can only be worn with one bottom stays at home. I have also found that having a capsule wardrobe makes it easier to choose outfits because you already know what goes with what. Just my thoughts.
That Wrinkle Free Spray also extends wear of clothing if it's not dirty just needs to be freshened up. 😁 I keep refilling a small spray bottle to pack in my liquids bag.
Thanks for your videos. I flew almost 25,000 miles last year circumnavigating the globe. I am 71 years old. I use a 22" Travelpro carryon with compression bags, a $20 smaller duffel bag on top of my carryon and a Scottevest travel vest. Some clothes I fold, pants... and others I roll...underware, tee shirts. BTW, i also carry a folding 3 legged stool for occasions when I need a break.
I’ve been looking around for a three legged stool. I was wondering if you could tell me what yours is called or where you got it. Is it a cane that can turn into a stool or just a stool? It’s a fabulous idea !🎉🎉🎉
@Nan-59 I am a big guy so this may be overkill for you...I have the Swedish made Walkstool (Amazon) it is super heavy duty, light enough and comes with a lite weight carry satchel. It comes in several sizes. I used mine today while walking the zoo. It has been around the world, including my last two trips, India and Argentina. It will be with me on my upcoming trip throughout Ireland. Very solid and stable. Often I don't used it, but it gives me the confidence to explore knowing I can always take a break! When I first bought it I had a minor issue with the satchel and with one call, a new satchel was immediately sent to me. I HAVE NO AFFILIATION WITH THE COMPANY. The stool fits in my carryon while flying.
I have a new camera gear DJI Osmo Action 4, and instead of buying a case, I used my child’s insulated and padded Barbie lunch box. All the cords and batteries are in there too. If they need to open my carry on, to search it, all is in one place. In case I need to gate check it, I can pull the lunch box and put it in my mini backpack. That is my new travel hack. Lunch boxes as packing cubes for my child too.
I really like ur idea. You can use different colors for particular items. Dollar tree has some that for the purpose of packing will work wonderful. Thanks for the idea. 👍😃
@@ThatBrickChic well, I also planned for that…Did you know that I had my child’s iPad attached to a lanyard, attached to my iphone and to my galaxy tab? There’s a loop you can buy from Amazon that makes your phone and tablet connect to a lanyard. If someone tried to grab it. They take the entire lot. I did that for the lunch box too. I had a lanyard attached to the bag. I learned my lesson when someone stole my moms camera in Ireland full of family pictures. From then on, I use lanyards to attach valuable items to bigger items. It’s so obvious when’s someone grabs one item. I was once asked why I did that, and I told them that story of my mom in Ireland and TSA searched for it and never found it.
I have also used lunch totes to pack camera gear. They are padded, insulated and don’t call attention to the fact that you may have expensive camera equipment. Also, the padded insulated sleeves used to keep canned drinks cold are perfect to put lenses in.
Travel not only broadens your horizons but also deepens your appreciation for the diverse tapestry of our world. It's a journey that goes beyond miles, creating memories that last a lifetime."
Hi Laurie, I’ve found that when using those compression cubes that don’t open all the way (like the ones you use), it’s easier for me to fold and stack everything that’s going to go into the cube, THEN put it in the cube all at one time, rather than one piece at a time. This helps to prevent extra wrinkles as you are putting each individual piece in a 3/4 opening. Hope that makes sense. Thanks for another video with great ideas!
I LOVE the challenge of packing everything I need in a carry on! Also since I'm freezing on the plane, I wear all my bulkiest clothes on the travel days which saves a ton of space 😅
I had a sweater over a tshirt on my flight from Orlando to Canada yesterday and I thought I was going to have to ask for a blanket or something! Thankfully it got warmer as the flight went on.
Another tip I have besides putting an outfit in your carry-on, my husband and I will put one outfit in a compression cube and put it in each other’s bag that we check. That way if we get someplace and we don’t have our bag we have the one outfit in our carry-on plus the second outfit in whichever bag didn’t get lost. Giving us three outfits to wear until they find and get our bag to us. This also would give us time to send an outfit out to be cleaned. On a trip to Israel, my best friend, her husband, and her son, all lost their bags for three days.
Go with only 3 outfits in total. 2 dresses and a top plus pair of pants that zip to shorts. Buy cheap tees in a discount store at destination. Everywhere has the same type of el cheapo stores. Put them in a thrift bin at the end of the trip. Bingo. More room for souvenirs. 😁
I love packing cubes and they actually help me take less! I also like to pack my tops folded and on top of one another because once I arrive at my hotel, I just put the packing cubes in the drawer with the compression zipper unzipped if it has one. So easy to find the top I want still relatively wrinkle free. As I empty a packing cube, that cube is where I put my dirty clothes so they can get compressed for the trip home which makes unpacking at home so much easier too, that bag goes right to the laundry. Thanks as always for your excellent travel tips!
I do the same BUT I carry 2 laundry bags as well with me - one big for shirts and the likes and second for socks and underwear. If the cloths are in similar colors, they go straight to the washer, otherwise I do a quick rearrangement :) As cloths become dirty, I don't put them back in the cube. So cube's volume decreases and the laundry bag's increases. Hope this makes sense :)
@@AquariumRandomVideo2 it absolutely makes sense. The reason I use the packing cubes for dirty clothes is that it’s easier to compress. My luggage is tightly packed before I leave so it’s just easier for me to repack using the compression cubes for the trip back home. Lol, I don’t have very much room for new things purchased during the trip (which is probably a good thing).
@@evelynwald9132 oh, I made that mistake once (no space for purchases) :) I 'm good with luggage tetris but it has it limits, no doubt. And using cubes for dirty cloths has advantages too, especially if you have several piles with different colors and textures
I’m a fast fashion addict and order from SHEIN a lot. They package every piece of clothing in zip top bags and I’ve been collecting them for my spring vacation. Will use them for all my packing!
Hey Laurie! 😊I love all of your videos! I was a flight attendant for United for 25 years! I am retired and really haven't flown since covid. Your tips and hacks are wonderful. Husband and I drive to the beach and I always bring way too many clothes. I think like I think u mentioned, deciding ahead what you will wear every day tho it takes more time initially, has to be key! Love your dogs! So cute! We have a Ragdoll kitty named Ollie! 🐱
Awwww!! Oh yay; hope you are enjoying retirement. My hubby had not been to Europe since before covid and this April he felt all out of practice. So I totally get it.
I fill my shoes/boots with belts, socks, and underwear first, then pack what's left over in a cube. Your new method makes sense. I'll try the smaller cubes next time. Can't wait to finally use my new Level 8 pickle carry-on. (Wife of a DFW pilot).
Hi Laurie, I like this new packing pattern! I love using compression cubes (thanks to you) but I do weigh my suitcase to make certain I’m within the airline’s weight limits & adjust as necessary. I take my little handheld scale in my personal item bag & weigh again for the return flight(s). As always, thanks for ALL of your tips!
I 'm going to travel for the 1st time with only a carry on. I was having a hard time getting everything to fit with compression cubes. So I found slim packing cubes from Amazon that worked perfect. They are the Amazon Basic 4 pc packing travel organizer cubes set slim. They fit perfectly in between the handle spaces in the bottom of the luggage (I have a soft sided case that only has space to pack on one side.) I lie 3 of them flat on the bottom and put the 4th one at the top of them. Then I put my larger compression cube for bulkier items on top.
I’ve seen people roll up their rain jacket from the bottom and stuff it into the hood. Then pull the cords closed and it’s a little pillow or stuff it into the corner of the suitcase. Just a thought
I also pack often with compression cubes. If we are traveling where we change locations everyday I pack the clothes as I will be wearing them…so like Monday on my list I have denim with blue top…blue top goes on top of the cube and I only have to open the cube slightly to take the blue top out. If we stay in the same location like cruise ship or Airbnb then I also pack a couple of wire hangers like the ones you get from the dry cleaner and I double or triple hang the tops on the hangers in the order that I will be wearing them…(they never have enough hangers and I always leave the ones I bring). My favorite packing cube is the tube one. I have a waterproof tube that I keep in my backpack and it has saved my phone and spare battery many times in pouring rain.
I used to have a very lightweight IKEA carry on, and they had sets of packing cubes to go with it. Small ones which fit exactly in the spaces inbetween the handle bars and larger ones on top of those. Those were smaller than the usual packing cubes. I still use them in my new carry on.
I also use compression cubes. Often times I will not compress them at the beginning of my trip because that allows me to have some room for souvenirs later on. I will also move stuff around and consolidate clean clothes some and dirty clothes in the now empty ones so that it helps to keep my suitcase clean. If the trip I am on has more than one hotel stay I will group days that I am staying in that hotel together in one or more compression cubes. That way I only have to get out those cubes when we get to the hotel. I will also consider when choosing outfits if I’m going to need to utilize the hotels laundry service by trying to wear the items that I feel comfortable sending out to be cleaned early in the trip so that when we get to the hotel that I need to do laundry at I can send those out and have clean clothes back in a day. One tip is to verify what days hotel you’re staying in does laundry. We almost got in trouble on our last trip because we do not realize that they did not do laundry on the weekends. Always pack a tiny sink pack of tide or laundry detergent of your choice for those emergency moments when you can’t send your laundry out. I also try to pack items that are quick drying in case I have to do laundry myself in a sink. You can either use the hotel clean towel to wring your clothes out or if you have room and have packed a quick drying towel, you can use that. That will help speed up the drying time.
I just came back from South Korea yesterday. On our return trip, our connection was in Detroit (on the way there it was Atlanta), and the Delta commuter jet had teeny overhead bins that didn’t fit my suitcase! Thankfully it was only gate-checked. I have been working out with Pahla B for 8 years!!! ❤❤❤
I’m so glad that you’re looking at packing with the smaller cubes. I’m going to try it for my next trip I have been so frustrated using the big cubes and didn’t feel I was maximizing my space.
I’ve got two sets of these same cubes and I’ve only been using the small ones for years now! Packing really is a game of Tetris and it’s a lot easier with smaller pieces. The larger cubes I only ever use when doing a cruise when I’m packing in a 27 inch checked bag.
Yes ! Carry your electronic device cords in your purse even if the cords are heavy. I learned this after my checked bag with all my power cords was lost for several days.
Best packing tips I have seen and used is to rather than use cubes use packable lightweight backpacks , foldable thin weight nylon bags or Aloha brand Bags as packing cubes and then you have extra bags to carry for beach or hiking on vacation. Also the 3-3-3 packing method for clothes. 3 shirts- 3 over shirts -3 pants. You can wear the shirts by themselves or layer. Makes several outfits .
Thanks, Laurie. I use the long oblong shape packing cubes in both the carry-on and the backpack personal item. I find it's easier to grab them out of the personal item bag/backpack during flights.
In October 2023, visited Greece x2 weeks. For the 1st time, I used packing cubes. Once the cubes were zipped, I placed a wide piece of tape labeling their contents. It helped me to be organized & prevented unzipping all the cubes looking for a certain item. 😊
Exciting! We are doing 8 days on Viking Rhine Getaway May 21 2024! Please comment here to let me know how you liked the compression cubes for your trip. Which cruise are you doing Suzi?
I loved this thank you.. I'm packing along with you extreme last minute several hours before my flight and we have the same exact suit case. I love the green shade don't you?! 😊
I just want to thank you so much for taking the time to film these videos. I’m about to take a trip to France and Spain at the end of March and these videos have helped me so much! Thank you again!
Hi Laurie, I use these from Amazon, Amazon Basics 4 Piece Packing Travel Organizer Zipper Cubes Set, Slim, Gray in my Nomad Lane Bento Bag and can easily get 4-5 days of clothes and accessories packed. They may not compress but are a game changer for packing small. Love all of your tips! They’ve made my traveling the past two years so much easier! ❤
Hi my name is Rebecca and I have been watching your vlogs for the since the beginning of 2024 and tips for my first oversea holiday. I live in Queensland Australia and have found your vlogs helpful so thank you.
Hi Laurie, I use the Compass Rose cubes because they are rectangle and fit nicely in a carryon or suitcase. I 11:30 bought them on Amazon. I love them. I also have another set of compression cubes. I love your videos and have learned a lot from you. I also use a regular (smaller compression bag) for laundry.
I always fill the space between handles, like you. I’ll put exercise pants, tee, bra, nightgown or small cosmetic bag there. I also use cubes and I usually pack those babies up! Have to learn how to minimize tops since I usually pack something I don’t end up using 😊
I really enjoy your videos. I love your dog! Who takes care of him when you're away? That is the only thing I don't like about traveling - that I am away from my dog! But of course, we still go.
I have been using packing compression bags for years. Have two sets. Depending on location I’m traveling to in time of year. I don’t always use the same size bag for different items. I’ve taken to getting a piece of masking tape, putting it across the top of the bag on both sides with a description of what’s in the bag. When it comes to smaller bags that is especially helpful.. thanks for all your tips
same concern for using compression cubes. those would cause me to pack more, and subsequently the weight of the carryon would go over international limits. philippines has particularly strict carryon limits, both in size and weight
Temu sells a bag that you can fill with clothing and put around your neck or hang on your carryon as a travel pillow. Just read of someone who emptied a travel pillow, added velcro and stuffs it with clothing.
That tube cube is the perfect size for under clothes. We are gearing up for a 17 day trip carry on only......I'm wondering about tucking in socks and underwear in all the nooks and crannies in the suitcase instead of one big cube.....then I will insert an empty cube to put them in once we board the ship so that they stay together in the cube once unpacked. We shall see how it comes together when we pack. Thanks for the videos. I always look forward to them.
Would love to see you do a video for people like me who do not or cannot pack all of their items in a carry on or personal items bag only. I am traveling internationally for 2 weeks and have to fit all of my wedding essentials in my carry on which leaves me no choice but to pack a checked, full-sized luggage. If you already have a video on this can you please point me in the right direction? Thanks! 🙂
Thanks, Laurie, for this idea that I will use for our upcoming air travel. It'll definitely help me pack carry-on only! 😁Safe & enjoyable travels to everyone! ❤ Pahla B Workouts are good & she is delightful! 😊
I have the same colorful compression cubes and they work well for me, either by rolling my clothes or folding them as you are showing here. On my current trip I ditched my usual backpack, and instead am using a shoulder bag that has a zippered shoe compartment across the bottom of the bag. We are snorkeling and the space fits well for my water shoes, mask and snorkel.
I have those same cubes, overall work fine. I rarely use the compression part. It feels easier to make them squish and smush as I have heard you say in the past, when I have limits on space
They can be hard to find, but compression tube cubes exist! I got a set with one and liked it so much I bought another single one as soon as I got home.
Love seeing Aulie and Nathan. Have you watched any of my shorts with Callie, my nutcase kitty? I like using cubes, but my hubby still argues that it doesn’t matter. Suitcase is a particular size to fit certain amount to items. Typical man-logic🤪. Of course he always end up asking me for help while packing.
Just watched this. I feel like this is such a “duh” moment…why haven’t I thought about this before? The small cubes make so much sense…especially for summer clothes. 🤦🏻♀️😉✅
I have an out of date PacSafe jacket with pockets large enough to carry small tablets, and another vest (can't remember the brand) that has an interior pocket to carry a 10in iPad. I load that jacket up when I get on the plane. Then I have my crossbody sling, if allowed, personal backpack and rolling carry on. Scottevest also has clothes with hidden pockets. I used to have that bag that hung on the seatback pocket, but that just became one more bag to carry. Small bonus, I can still wear the jacket with my stuff if I ever have to abandon the plan in an emergency.
I got the smaller set (3pieces 1 lg 2 small) of Landscape printed compression bags and wish I would have got the larger set. I ended up ordering the small set in white. The plain color sets do not open all the way like a book (the printed ones do) They work just the same, but it seems I can get things folded better in the book style ones! I'll have to try using the smaller ones for my next trip!
Good video I learned something. I only travel with a 22L backpack. I have Everything in various-sized CLEAR packing cubes/, Security only once has pulled some things out.
Laurie what do YOU do with dirty clothes? Just put them back in the compression cubes once you wear them? Thanks for all the amazing tips! Love them so much!
Hi, I store them in the suitcase and then stuff them into a cube, but most of my clothes are all dirty so I do not mind if they are all mixed in b/c I will wash everything regardless.
I have really learned a lot watching your videos! My problem is when I’m doing a guided tour and we are traveling from place to place my suitcase and packing cubes become a disaster.🥴 It’s really hard for me to stay organized.🤷♀️ Any suggestions?
I love compression cubes. I was able to pack four days worth of clothing (including underwear, a swimsuit and night clothes) in one cube that fit in one motorcycle saddlebag, which is much smaller than a carryon. Also, in my personal experience, I can fit more in a cube if I roll my clothes.
Just saw the chat about using ziplock bags instead if other things like packing cubes. While I won't have an outfit a day for a month, I think it's a great tip in general. One tip...when freezing food, I use the bags with strip closures not the zippers...works far better to seal when I put a straw in a corner and suck out the air!! No need for a pump? UPDATE: I just rolled up 5 pairs of cotton underwear (4 size 7 high cut; 1 a brief) and got them into a 1 quart Great Value bag. They never really seal that easily, but I did get it sealed almost to the one end, stuck a straw in at the side of the bag, pulled the air out, and then quickly pulled out the straw and sealed the edge simultaneously. (The technique I use for food.) The bag was full of pieces, but the space around them at the edges did shrink down. The actual Brand Name bag may do better...will go try! UPDATE 2: I used a old Ziploc 1 quart bag This time I rolled 2, and the other three, simply folded in half lengthwise and then in half top to bottom to lay flat. I put the rolled pieces on either side of the flat folded items. Seems to make a a flatter bag than all rolled! As I sucked the straw several time I was pulling it up toward the opening and sealed as I pulled the straw out on my last draw in. In both cases it looks very thin at the edges/sides, but as the remaining air spreads around the bag, it doesn't make too much difference visually on either the cheapy bag or the Brand ziploc bag. However, it is very flat pack. I also tried a different "roll"....just folding from top to bottom (crotch to waistband), then again, then each side in and it seemed to create a flatter folder and all fit in across the width of the bag , top to bottom without any big bulging!!! About 1.5 inches thick, 6.5 ounces (I measured!)So that's the way I think I will fold...the regular roll is pretty thick...this method is better for 5 pairs! AND, if you pack a few (and buy more) pantiliners...you can pack fewer pairs!
Even though I have Tsa Precheck, I still pack my liquids bag in my personal item bag. there have been times when I have gotten to the airport and the Tsa Precheck line isn’t open. Then I’m required to go through the regular line. It’s easier if my liquids bag is already in my personal item bag rather than opening up my suitcase.
I just saw a hanging suitcase organizer. Have you ever used these? Some are compression types and you take them out of you suitcase and hang it like a traveling closet.
I know it's not glamerous - I pack items in zip freezer bags - this way I can squeeze out the air right out the end. Works so much better than packing cubes and save a lot more space. the bags also contain the stink if I can't wash clothes before coming home.
Hi Lori. I’ve always wondered how you deal with your clothes/cubes when you reach your hotel. Do you unpack clothes into drawers? Do you live out of suitcase? Or do you put unzipped cubes in drawers, in which case some cubes would function better than others in terms of ease of finding clothes. Depends on length of trip for me. For long trips, I put unzipped cubes in hotel drawers. What do you do?
Hi Laurie! Love love love your travel tip videos. I found the rain jacket on LTK. (I asked last night where to find it 🙄). Question: tips to avoid hip/back pain? Do you have a video about that? Anyway, thank you for your awesome wisdom!!!

I needed a solution so I began using ziploc bags about a4 size or bigger, and put in one day of clothes per bag and sit on it to seal air tight.
I found the perfect travel, foldable stool. It’s not a cane. It fits into my travel backpack too
I have a ScotteVest too. It’s the best! I recommend buying a size up.
@@jstanovic I have one also
I have a new camera gear DJI Osmo Action 4, and instead of buying a case, I used my child’s insulated and padded Barbie lunch box.
The ease of being able to grab it out if they want to check your bag is awesome. What a great idea
So smart!
Yes, did you see me doing that in this video? That is what I do.
I LOVE the challenge of packing everything I need in a carry on! Also since I'm freezing on the plane, I wear all my bulkiest clothes on the travel days which saves a ton of space 😅
Strangely I was hot on the plane this trip! I think it may have been the compression socks (first time wearing them). Thank goodness for layers!
That's a great one too.
That is a great idea! 😊❤
I have several questions about laundry otw home so thanks!
I do the same BUT I carry 2 laundry bags as well with me - one big for shirts and the likes and second for socks and underwear. If the cloths are in similar colors, they go straight to the washer, otherwise I do a quick rearrangement :)
As cloths become dirty, I don't put them back in the cube.
I love packing cubes. And my husband loves loves and them too!!!!
I’m a fast fashion addict and order from SHEIN a lot. They package every piece of clothing in zip top bags and I’ve been collecting them for my spring vacation. Will use them for all my packing!
Thanks for sharing!!
Hi!!
Thank you so much for these tips! Going on my first airplane in a few days, and this video is so helpful 😀
Great idea, but does the scale add more weight?
Thanks for actually packing for us!
I always thought it would be boring so I show that at the end of several videos, but I am realizing that people find it helpful.
Glad you found something that worked. I had those years ago.
I’ve seen people roll up their rain jacket from the bottom and stuff it into the hood. Then pull the cords closed and it’s a little pillow or stuff it into the corner of the suitcase. Just a thought
You just gave me a great idea to use during our upcoming flight! Thanks! 😊❤😁♥️✈️
You know I am crazy for smaller pouches! They really keep me organized! Good job, sister! God Bless you and your family!
Yes! Thank you!
Thanks for sharing!
Your dog is so cute. Sometimes it must be hard to leave him. Been watching all your videos and learning a lot 😊
Thank you so much! I miss him when I am packing mostly.
HI Laurie! Nice meeting you at Walmart. Will be utilizing these strategies when I fly to France in June. :)
KATIE! I looked for you the next day. Have such a beautiful and yummy trip!
Enjoying your videos. Keep them coming. Love your puppy model too.
Sweetness!
I’m so glad that you’re looking at packing with the smaller cubes. I’m going to try it for my next trip I have been so frustrated using the big cubes and didn’t feel I was maximizing my space.
Great ideas. I always appreciate your videos, Laurie! Thx so much.
Thank you so much!
I like to use laundry wash bags as my "packing cubes".
Wait this is brilliant!! Thank you!!!!!!!
I bought the National Parks set! It’s really pretty and the compression saves me space in my suitcase! Thanks for this tip!
I am using those on a current trip. So happy!
Looking forward to watching this in the morning. It’s late Sunday evening here in the UK.
Hi Josephine! Top of the morning to ya.
@@TravelTipsbyLaurie loved it. I’m very much Team Smaller
I’ve got two sets of these same cubes and I’ve only been using the small ones for years now! Packing really is a game of Tetris and it’s a lot easier with smaller pieces. The larger cubes I only ever use when doing a cruise when I’m packing in a 27 inch checked bag.
Thank you for actually demonstrating how you pack. Very helpful ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Those are great tips! A travel hack is to use soft sided lunchboxes that are sitting around your house to pack in. Yes to mixing and matching!
Thanks, Laurie. I use the long oblong shape packing cubes in both the carry-on and the backpack personal item. I find it's easier to grab them out of the personal item bag/backpack during flights.
That works!
In October 2023, visited Greece x2 weeks. For the 1st time, I used packing cubes. Once the cubes were zipped, I placed a wide piece of tape labeling their contents. It helped me to be organized & prevented unzipping all the cubes looking for a certain item. 😊
Thank you! I just ordered compression packing cubes. Packing for my 2 week Viking river cruise in a carryon..
Exciting! We are doing 8 days on Viking Rhine Getaway May 21 2024! Please comment here to let me know how you liked the compression cubes for your trip. Which cruise are you doing Suzi?
@@gsoginny went on the Rhine. Loved it. Going back in Dec to do the Christmas on the Rhine 😊
I just returned from a trip to Paris, my first international trip, btw. Your videos helped me pack efficiently. Thank you!
Ollie (spelling) is SO CUTE!!!!❤
He posed perfectly didn't he!
I really liked this video. I hope it helps when you pack.
Yes, it took me years to even try compression cubes because mine were doing just fine. Glad you are traveling more.
Your dog is adorable 🥰.
Thank you! 😊
Hi my name is Rebecca and I have been watching your vlogs for the since the beginning of 2024 and tips for my first oversea holiday. I live in Queensland Australia and have found your vlogs helpful so thank you.
That is awesome!
I'm recovering from rough emergency appendectomy on Valentine's Day, trying to catch up. You give the BEST tips. Blessings.
SOOO glad you're okay!
Hi Laurie,
I use the Compass Rose cubes because they are rectangle and fit nicely in a carryon or suitcase. I 11:30 bought them on Amazon. I love them. I also have another set of compression cubes. I love your videos and have learned a lot from you. I also use a regular (smaller compression bag) for laundry.
I am so glad they work for you. Thanks for watching!
I love compression packing cubes. I'll try using only the small ones and see how my available space compares. Thanks so much!
I tell you; I was shocked!
Sounds great!
same concern for using compression cubes. those would cause me to pack more, and subsequently the weight of the carryon would go over international limits. philippines has particularly strict carryon limits, both in size and weight
Yes, smart to check your airline first.
I swear I’m the worst at loading up my suitcases what a great video
Another great video Laurie!!💜
Thank you!
Temu sells a bag that you can fill with clothing and put around your neck or hang on your carryon as a travel pillow. Just read of someone who emptied a travel pillow, added velcro and stuffs it with clothing.
Omg this is brilliant. I just made my first Temu order so I could get it!🤯
Airlines caught on and now many are checking travel pillows
That tube cube is the perfect size for under clothes. We are gearing up for a 17 day trip carry on only......I'm wondering about tucking in socks and underwear in all the nooks and crannies in the suitcase instead of one big cube.....then I will insert an empty cube to put them in once we board the ship so that they stay together in the cube once unpacked. We shall see how it comes together when we pack. Thanks for the videos. I always look forward to them.
Adorable pets. Love these travel tips!
I love your videos, Laurie!! I always pick up a few tips in each one. Thank you! Oh and BTW - I envy your ability to travel the world!!😊
Always a pain packing. Thanks for this video !
Thanks for your time.
I really enjoy your videos!
Thanks! 🙂
Beautiful Ollie!
Thanks, Laurie, for this idea that I will use for our upcoming air travel. It'll definitely help me pack carry-on only! 😁Safe & enjoyable travels to everyone! ❤ Pahla B Workouts are good & she is delightful! 😊
Hi again Heather!!!! So glad these tips will help you pack in a carry-on again. Keep moving!
Thank you so much for sharing. ✈️
Awesome!!
I have a rain jacket that folds into it's own right pocket. Can be used as a travel pillow or if you get chilly on the plane.
excellent, as usual. Keep em coming Laurie
I have those same cubes, overall work fine. I rarely use the compression part. It feels easier to make them squish and smush as I have heard you say in the past, when I have limits on space
Oh I love it!
They can be hard to find, but compression tube cubes exist! I got a set with one and liked it so much I bought another single one as soon as I got home.
Thanks!
I've used those cubes & love them. Just bpught that rain jacket in navy at very discounted price of 19.99!!! ❤🎉
I saw one just the other day but it may have been on Instagram.
Your husband is technically not wrong
Just watched this. I feel like this is such a “duh” moment…why haven’t I thought about this before? The small cubes make so much sense…especially for summer clothes. 🤦🏻♀️😉✅
I felt the same way!
I love packing cubes and I have and love that makeup case of yours.
Thank you; it's a new one: amzn.to/4bGi4Z7
This sounds perfect! Ty! 😀
Loved this❤
Aww Ollie is wondering where Mommy is going now ❤
haha his poses have gotten so good!
Always good helpful advice!!!!
love, love your videos, so helpful, thanks
So glad!
Love your videos!
Thanks so much for commenting!
Thanks for the video, I always enjoy your tips!
Glad to hear it!
I would love to know what you do about your clothes getting wrinkled.
I just iron the ones that really need it but I have a casual style. I hang everything as soon as I arrive.
They are so helpful!
Planning on signing up for pre-check this year 👍🏾
You need it girl!
Thank you SO MUCH! I have shared your site with all of my friends. You make travel fun!!!!
You rock!
What carry on suitcase do you recommend? Love your videos!!! Very helpful
Hi Tammy: amzn.to/3OQILk5
If it works, do it. It really is worth the time to test the method that helps you pack. Great tips!
Hey! I have that same top and love it! It looks great on you. Thank you for all your great travel tips.
Thanks!!
Hi! Great question. I unpack usually and leave the cubes in my suitcase. A couple of times I have just kept stuff in the cubes that can stay folded.
Hi Laurie! Love love love your travel tip videos. I found the rain jacket on LTK. (I asked last night where to find it 🙄). Question: tips to avoid hip/back pain? Do you have a video about that? Anyway, thank you for your awesome wisdom!!!
Yay! I do not have tips about that.
