    I just tightened my handbrake from the pads now just gotta adust the cable! awesome dude

    Nice one. Sure you can adjust the rear brake shoes but if you dont want to get down and dirty, just adjust the cable inside the car 👍😀

    Exactly what I was looking for. Great video. My pads are very worn and I ll replace them soon, should I wait with the handbrake adjustment (so that it isnt to tight if I do it before the pad change)?

    Have to disagree with this. You should take the wear and slackness out in the drum at the rear first to bring the worn shoes back into close proximity and shape to the drums. After doing this adjustment there most likely will not be any slack in the cable. Drum adjustment is done by removing the small rubber bung in the drum, then finding adjuster and then making the adjustments. In my opinion !!!

      You suppose to adjust rear wheel first ,tighten and then back of,then adjust slightly at handbrake lever

      Yes, but the easier way is to adjust the bolts inside the car. Not everyone wants to get down and dirty under the rear of the car.😮😅

      I was instructed that cable adjustment at brake drums was for when there is uneven handbrake balance. Adjustment at handbrake is done to take up slack affecting both brake drums. When/If brake shoes are replaced then slack on cable is created also on handbrake side. Makes sense to me, use the available adjustment screws at handbrake for faster, cleaner work. Only when brake shoes need replacing do we actually need to handle slightly bigger operation including slacking of cable from inside.

      Firstly, it makes no difference how you choose the free play of the brake handle. Secondly, with stretched cables, you can adjust the pads optimally and with the minimum possible gap, but the handle will still have a large free play due to the lengthening of the cable and the pads will weakly hold the car. Thirdly, adjusting the pads in the drum is used primarily to facilitate its removal, so that the pad does not catch on the ridge from the wear in the drum. In fact, you should adjust the length of the drive, and not the gaps in the shoe-drum pair.

    I have the same problem, but I have an automatic gear.
    Can I also simply lift up the plastic cover to reach the two screws?
    Can anybody tell me?
