When measuring for a T-post I understand that it’s measuring from left to the middle of the post but I’m unsure of how to know where the T post would sit. For example, if it is 1780mm wide window and going 3 panels with 1 panel, T post and then 2 panels. Would I divide the 1780/3 to make each panel approx 590mm wide each and then measure left 590mm plus half a T-post width? I hope this make sense 😅
Hi Kat, With measuring a T post we recommend to measure from left to the middle of where the T post will be located. Some customers may have a vertical mullion to which they will line up this T post with to get this measurement. If you don't have a mullion to line it up and would like to have a 3 panel plantation shutter, you can also as you stated take your width and divide by the panels. But in this case please leave a note in the manufacturing notes that you would like x3 even panels and when we go to process the order we will confirm with you the exact measurements of all the x3 panels. If you are needing further assistance with measuring you can also book in online with a 1 on 1 video consultation to discuss this further via the following link iseekblinds.com.au/contact-us Or you are more than welcome to send us some images of the window to our sales@iseekblinds.com.au email and we would look forward to assisting you on your DIY journey. Hi Tuong, Sorry for the delayed reply. Bay windows can be a little tricky, but they are possible in most cases with careful measuring. If you can contact our team, we will do our best to guide you. Please call us on 1300 664 257, Mon-Fri during business hours, or send us an email at sales@iseekblinds.com.au. Thanks, Mike,
why dont you show how to measure on a 3 panel window?? there are posts in the frame! so how do we measure? from the side of the window casement to the first post? do we measure to the centre of the post?
Hi Johnnyboy, Our apologies for the delayed response. As shown in the video, when measuring for a T-Post, you should start measuring from the left hand edge of the window (or where you want the shutter to start), to the centre of the T-Post location. This process should be repeated for every t-post you have in your frame layout. If you have any further questions, please contact our customer service team directly on sales@iseekblinds.com.au. Thanks & have a great day, The iSeekBlinds team
Hi Laura, Thanks for your comment and our apologies for not replying sooner. Measuring for a Z-frame is the same as measuring for an inside L-frame shutter. The only difference with the Z-frame is that it wraps around the front of the window, hiding any imperfections, but the frame is still attached to the inside of your window recess. The information on our website is another means of checking and clarifying the instructions, which you might find helpful: www.iseekblinds.com.au/plantation-shutters-pvc-self-assembly-kits-how-to-measure.html If you have any other queries, please do not hesitate to contact us on sales@iseekblinds.com.au or 1300 664 257 (Mon-Fri, AEST business hours). If your window has tile about 10 inches up on both sides and granite on the sill, what type of mount would you need?
