I built one from 19mm MDF with 4 6x9s, a 10" Polk subwoofer, 600watt amp, Bluetooth car headunit, and tower computer supply with all of the 12v outputs soldered together
Great job! I built mine out of an old microwave. I wanted to make a modernized 80's boom box. I used a battery from a electric bike with those 18650 batteries, Android touchscreen AC Am/Fm radio. Had to use a power balancer and ac dc converter. My build was a bit more complicated but this is a great simple version. Quick edit: the microwave was cut up and welded into the shape using all but the front panel and door.
That gap where the speaker is 😱😱😱 that would bug the shit out of me if I build one. I would try to make one but like a clear box and hook some color LEDs inside. Be sick to pack around.
A friend and I both built ourselves one of these in the 80's, man they played louder than any boombox at the time, plus they were great for parties. 🤩👍
Sound could possibly be improved by building resonator chambers with ports (holes) in them to boost bass. Also, there's no need for a switch connected to the charger line. Maybe connect it to the Illumination line on the radio so you can turn its key lights on and off.
What are all the supplies do you need to make something like this . As far as the radio, speakers and battery that I already have. What will turn it on and provide sound thru the speakers .
Gotta say, you’re pretty good with that jig saw. I thought it was gonna be jagged and crooked, but your speaker holes turned out nice. I like the battery and charger as well, make it easy to take on the go. You plan on painting it?
How did you connect the electrical from the radio & speakers to the battery packs, without short-circuiting it?? Do you have a diagram or instructions for it??
Not bad overall but I think I would have built it a little differently. Not a bad idea overall and given the overall cost and build difficulty it turned out great.
So what would be a good size black plastic box with handle that fit 2 6.5 1/2 150watt marine speaker fit on the front of the plastic black box . I do not want an ammo box?
I built this 30 y ago yet in my garage. But used a cassette car radio and two motorcycle 12V batteries.lol^^ what kind of speaker and car radio did you use? Nice work! greetings from Germany!
Do you know what would be a good plastic box with handle to get that fit 2 6.5. 1/2 150watt marine speaker on the front ab the fit a a small 2ch Bluetooth amp and 6000mAh rechargeable battery inside?
Mnogo ima nedostataka.. 1. Kontrola punjenja baterija.(ovako je mnogo opasno, moze doci do explozije i zapaljenja baterije) 2. Spuzvasta izolacija unutar kutije 3. Otvor za zrak iz kutije. 4. Sastavi ovakvih kutija se moraju lijepiti i ojacavati letvicama.jer proizvode los zvuk.
This isn't really related to this video but as far as when you are stick welding do you use the welder that you made from the five microwave Transformers?
one silly question: what happens if I turn it on and play my CD and I listend the music while the charger is plugged in "providing energy" to the batteries ? does it work? or does it work only with unplugged charger?
So for the record u hooked up a car stereo and 2 car speakers into a box Hardly a diy build but ok we give you credit for the box but everything else is just plugnplay
I think one is fine but it’s always better to have them both charged if u ever going somewhere and want to have it for a longer run if u take it out where u can’t charge it
Thanks for uploading the video. what if you turn on the stereo while battery charging switch is on? this will provide slightly higher voltage to the stereo, will it burn the stereo?
No it wouldn't. Most of these radios are made to use anywhere from around 10 to 14.5 volts. In your car the normal battery voltage is 12 volts but around 14 when driving.
built mine out of an 80s Walkman and a stick of gum sounds like sumone is whistling under mud but it's background noise while I'm working in my shop making paper airplanes
You connected two batteries in parallel, you made a mistake so that it would last longer, it didn't happen recently, one of the batteries breaks down, they are dry batteries. power does not last, instead of dry battery, 18650 batteries are connected to each other with polarity and you need to provide a Bms balance card....
So good to see a real diy Bluetooth speaker build. No fancy equipment, tools most guys would have out in their sheds. Good job!
Mohan
😍😍😍
Bluetooth speaker build. No fancy equipment or tools.... very nice job...
Good music choice 😂❤

I just made similar but I used a PC power supply. Add an antenna for the radio.

agreed with that gap most speakers have a template for the cutout.
great music center turned out.
We want part 2 when you take this to the beach :)
A friend and I both built ourselves one of these in the 80's, man they played louder than any boombox at the time, plus they were great for parties. 🤩👍
Like the table saw 💯👍
your video editing is equally impressive

I’m going to built this system into a mini bar I’m making for my home!
Well done 🥇
So...car stereo in a box.
Such engineering, many wow
two beautiful speakers. great job
👍😁
Awesome! Love boomboxes! I have a few myself.. thanks for sharing
Thanks for watching!

ITs good Just needs a handle or color or costomization Love it
Thanx, i like so much that boombox
Cool

The large speaker hole should have been smaller and you should insulate each speaker inside a box to give you stronger and clearer sound
Woww nice broo, only missing FM antenna and airflow inlet tube for the speakers, missing power when there is no acustic gap
How did you connect the electrical from the radio & speakers to the battery packs, without short-circuiting it?? Do you have a diagram or instructions for it??
Very beauty!!!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Svaka čast

That's dope
Im building mines out of scraps from my job building woofer boxes lol
Ne farò una uguale. Grazie.

Great job brother!!!
Wauuuuuu hoću jedan ovakav ,moram ga imati🏆👍🙂
Woww nice broo
Thanks bro pozzz :)
@@MrDKDIY can you explain the wiring from the charger connector
Thanks for this video! It helped to a lot.

So you just have to recharge the batteries? And how often? Like how do you know when they need to be charged??
Superb
Süper 👍
Thanks
I did it with two 6x9 kicker speakers and I put in a PC power supply and it sounds very loud
Very god
Thanks
Hey,i love the way you build it
I have a question
For how long these batteries hold on if you play music on max volume?
Car radios dont use that much power so very long.
this is so. ghetto!! i loved it
Odlicno Video
Nice I'd want 6.5 mids 6.5 lows 6×9 pair of 8s and a pair of 10s. And I'd want to plug it in
Nice👍
Türkler buraya gelirse bi TÜRKBAYRAĞI alırım
nice
it could have been even better ... especially when you had new products
Could have made the speaker holes a little smaller. But nice work.
This isn't really related to this video but as far as when you are stick welding do you use the welder that you made from the five microwave Transformers?
What did that charger come from? Does it have a way to keep the batteries from over charging.
COULD YOU POSSIBLY SHOW THIS SAME SETUP BUT RUNNING OFF A 12V MAINS POWER SUPPLY...PLEEEEEEEASE
I have really big problem to find power solution for my boombox (car radio+ 6x9 speakers).
Exelente proyecto bro
you collect from scratch. these wires can connect everything.
one silly question: what happens if I turn it on and play my CD and I listend the music while the charger is plugged in "providing energy" to the batteries ?

Do you really need two batteries or can you just use one
I think one is fine but it’s always better to have them both charged if u ever going somewhere and want to have it for a longer run if u take it out where u can’t charge it
Just letting you know; I am going to "steal" your idea ;)
Thanks for uploading the video. what if you turn on the stereo while battery charging switch is on? this will provide slightly higher voltage to the stereo, will it burn the stereo?
Kris C the batteries will still only put out the same voltage
No it wouldn't. Most of these radios are made to use anywhere from around 10 to 14.5 volts. In your car the normal battery voltage is 12 volts but around 14 when driving.
Nice, how much time the battery lasts
The radio has his own power button.
A power supply unit off Amazon would be better than batteries.

Where can I buy that charger plug
Good video. I love the result and the sound.
Congratulations. You have my like
Thanksn
What type of charger was and port for the charger was used?
Your speaker holes are too big sir! Love the build but the end product seemed tinny and flat and that simple error may not have helped!
Excelente video...
👏👏👍
How long does the batteries last on music?
Hello I’m interested in building my own summit to this and was wondering if I could put it with only 1 switch. If anyone knows please comment lmk
Could this be powered by regular outlet?
👍👍👍
How many volt the speakers?
You connected two batteries in parallel, you made a mistake so that it would last longer, it didn't happen recently, one of the batteries breaks down, they are dry batteries. power does not last, instead of dry battery, 18650 batteries are connected to each other with polarity and you need to provide a Bms balance card....
Koliko dugo moze radit na baterije
How long does that thing last on full charge ?
Thank you.
Can be used while charging?
Thanks !
It's a bad idea to put sla Pb batteries in pure parallel ... use instead some 18650 with bms circuit.
Why is it a bad idea
They are the same size, so nothing to worry about.
