I thought I bit off more than I could chew saying I could ride it! That was really really difficult and the hardest section wasn’t even in the video!! There’s a super steep part before those crux rock hop moves that looked like a paved road on video but were really challenging.
Even without the gimble, and with just a hero session, y’all still can capture some amazing rides in stunning detail! I don’t understand how that works, but y’all appear to be the no gimble wizards!!
Yeah, I descend better tired too. As long as I'm not so tired I can't maintain "attack" position that is.. I think you get to a point where the mind has already spent all of it's "fight or flight" hormone that creates the kind of anxiety about a certain feature or drop or whatever. I also descend better when I'm chasing the sunset. The darker it gets, the faster I ride because I can't see the scary stuff, so I just roll right over it, haha.. Great vids!!!
Rode the Dyfi Enduro in Wales, UK 6 hrs, 1900 metres of climbing, gnarly descents, wet, slippery roots, 1000 rider mass start. The last hour was tough but didn’t bonk but when I got off the bike at the finish line I injured my lower back as I we hastily walked back to the car. Now after a long arduous ride I make sure to take things more slowly and carefully. Your videos are awesome!
Got the ride done. Great fun ride. Thank you for sharing. Nice frog save. lol. Picked some good lines. Good to see you riding some lines that you hadn't done before.
Syd's fall was so typical of being tired: Going slow, too much weight on hands, hit rock, stop, fall over. BTDT. Glad you're ok though. Sometimes, those slow falls into rocks end up hurting the worst.
Right on! That's a fun race. Not quite as brutal as this or EWS. Have you seen our video from there from last year? You might enjoy it as it'll give you an idea of what to expect. We'll probably be out there as well.
Yes I’ve seen the video you guys posted from last year....!! Awesome stuff your videos of all your enduro races has really helped me prepare.. Thank you again for all your videos.. 🙇🏻♂️
I Know that Feeling after a Big Climb On the way down its almost Euphoric. your done with Climbing but going down you Just flow Like water Its weird. I Love it My Kind of High..
Brutal! What a tough ride through this beautiful scenery. I am really digging your videos!!! Found you thanks to your collaboration with BKXC. Keep up the amazing work, it is truly inspirational. Greetings from France.
I subbed to your channel! Because 1 you guys are legit good cool people! 2 I live in tucson an ride Lemmon every weekend and love watching people ride Lemmon!!!!!
Great Video Syd and Macky! Long Rides never go smoothly haha. Hope your suspension setup helped. I really like the camera swapping, I'm going to do that with my GF too. Have a Good Day!
I have a theory that I am more productive at my work (I'm a programmer) when a little tired... I think I just stop over thinking things and hammer away at it. Perhaps it's similar. On the bike I am not sure - I think I just get more desperate and start running into things :P
I did a certain amount programming in a previous life and found the same thing. I think it was because I stopped testing everything and just wrote it, then went back later to debug... -M
Our Patreon Team Members should definitely check out the extended version. It's twice as long and AT LEAST TWICE as full of riding, banter and FUN! www.patreon.com/sydandmacky
You guys KILLED IT!! Can’t wait for your first race!! By the way, when is your first race?! 🤔 You both look to be in pretty good form and shape for the beginning of the year. Would love to see a recap video of training and preparation for the race year to come!
Ya know I think this video highlights one huge difference between road cycling and mountain biking. In this video, they went 30 miles in almost 8 hours. In road cycling, you can go 30 miles on 2 and a half hours (or at least thats my 30 mi time). But in MTBing theres a heck of a lot more technical and slower riding as opposed to smooth roads in road riding.
True. This was an unusually slow and technical ride (we had to hike a lot of the climbs because they were so steep and rocky) so it's kind of on the extreme end of the spectrum, haha!
Was getting my Mrs into biking and was looking forward to riding with her . You very lucky , I bought her a bike then it got nicked from my shed . Have you had any bikes pinched and do you know of any trackers . Peace
"none of this trails was downhill" - Maybe ride it in the other direction ^^. You should do a GPS race. Just let them sit somewhere for a time and then see which one went farther.
Wow that must have been really tiring to ride for over seven hours. How do you keep your battery life on the Go-pros? Because mine just runs out after an hour.
This may be a really dumb question...we are mtn bikers...but since I have started to follow you 2 awesome people, Syd has had those bandages on her leg. Whats the story behind that???
It's Rock Tape, so not a bandage but kinesio tape to help relieve some of the issues I have with patellar tendonitis. Provides some support and keeps inflammation under control!
Are you guys allways riding together and always together?what do guys do for solitude?I love my wife with all my heart but 24/7 I'd need a break every once in a while.
Yeah, we've learned to balance it, but sometimes we need alone time. Sometimes it's solo rides, sometimes just reading/hanging out but even then we're usually near one another...
Hey. You Never go faster tired and if you do you tropically get sketchy on the trail. One of my favorite channels. What gopros are you using? Check out the new GoPro Hero. Works well for me.
SYD and MACKY nice camera helmet mounted. I have the new GoPro Hero 2018 camera. Do you mind checking out my channel and letting me know how it looks. FYI. Going to SEDONA this weekend
Prickly pears suck, I speak from experience, landed in one at Sedona MTB festival. The guys I were riding with were nice enough to dig spines outta my ass for like an hour.. lol hilarious, but not.
The two Patreon videos are awesome. It is totally worth it to see Syd and Macky ride this trail.
Thanks!
La Milagrossa was so awesome! Climbing up the “hike a bike” was on of my most difficult rides ever.
Your name was evoked in vain a few times on this climb. As in, "how did goddamn jeff lenosky ride up this" haha
Aw, shucks. We're still looking into gimbals, but glad to hear it's working for the moment!
Helmet mount is an artificial gimbal. Head stays level and stabilized
Yeah, I descend better tired too. As long as I'm not so tired I can't maintain "attack" position that is.. I think you get to a point where the mind has already spent all of it's "fight or flight" hormone that creates the kind of anxiety about a certain feature or drop or whatever. Yeah there's a sweet spot! You can definitely get TOO tired 😝
It's like every trail in AZ is, somehow, uphill both ways. (with the exception of Schultz Creek trl in Flag)
Guess we'll have to check out that one then!
Great for elevation training too! Flag is best for summer riding, but the trails are pretty clear by April most years. :)
Hmm... Might have to check it out on our way to Sea Otter.
Truly epic. Lots of admiration for you two. Looking forward to watching you race.
Race season is coming!!!
That's a hell of a day in the saddle. Our highest mountain in Ireland is 3,400ft :D
I love this segment of trail. So fun watching you guys ride it.

Sounds like a brutal one!

Yeah it was really dumb but I was fine! 😝
Just wanted to say thanks for the video, it helped me get through part of my indoor intervals workout tonight.
Glad to hear it! Indoor intervals = hard core!!
I am also a dork fish! I have never related to something so personally. Made me 🤣🤣🤣. 2:13
Wow, that was quite a day. Kudo's to both of you.
Thanks!
Great video...!! Definitely helps define the training I need to do to get ready for my first Enduro race coming up in May in Moab.. Thank You.. 🙏
Right on! That's a fun race. Not quite as brutal as this or EWS. Have you seen our video from there from last year? You might enjoy it as it'll give you an idea of what to expect. We'll probably be out there as well.

I am looking forward to seeing you guys race this year.
Epic day!! Thanks guys for the great vid.
Glad you enjoyed it!
awesome video! awesome trail! thank you for sharing.
Thanks for watching!
Wow good job guys! for you to be wasted that much that must be a brutal ride. but in the end it was all worth it.
Yup, definitely worth it!
I need to ride more you descended half of what I did in a year in just one ride. When the snow melts away some more I am gonna ride twice as much!
Yeah! Do it! 💪💪
Syd was tired to say goodbye, you did great guys👍💪👊🚲
I subbed to your channel! Because 1 you guys are legit good cool people! 2 I live in tucson an ride Lemmon every weekend and love watching people ride Lemmon!!!!!
Awesome!! Lemmon is so rad! 🤘
Great Video Syd and Macky! Long Rides never go smoothly haha. Hope your suspension setup helped. I really like the camera swapping, I'm going to do that with my GF too. Have a Good Day!
Wow! What a ride! I felt tired just watching you guys lol. Great vid as always.
Thanks! It was a heck of a ride!
Nice work guys! Another video, another Disney quote!
Well spotted. I was wondering if anyone would catch it!

all true Macky! getting your UIltra Instinct when you are tired.

you guys are making some great vids!!! thanks
Thanks!
Enjoyed this video so much! Now I want a burrito. 😉👍🚴🚵🌄🐸
BURRITO!! 🌯
"The Last Climb" that should be a Magazine or Book or something lol
😁
great content guys loved it
Thanks!
2:08 he will not let go of that
I got tire just from watching it, but I can not wait to ride those trails xD
They're awesome!
Love the video guys
Thanks!
hadn't even watched the video when I posted the comment
Good stuff! Really enjoyed that.
Did Remmy end up with your portal when you switched teams? Would also like to see a new brother vs brother.
Come ride in Brisbane Australia
Hopefully someday!
You guys KILLED IT!! Can’t wait for your first race!! By the way, when is your first race?! 🤔 You both look to be in pretty good form and shape for the beginning of the year. Would love to see a recap video of training and preparation for the race year to come!
Thanks. We'll see what we can do 😋

SYD and MACKY Oh for sure there was a ton of slow moving trail. Have you guys done any road cycling on a road bike?
Not for a while, but Syd just got a gravel grinder and I got a CX bike so we'll be doing some more road riding and gravel grinding this fall!
SYD and MACKY Oh thats awesome! Im a roadie so I love road bike videos as well as MTB vids.
Was getting my Mrs into biking and was looking forward to riding with her . You very lucky , I bought her a bike then it got nicked from my shed . Have you had any bikes pinched and do you know of any trackers . Peace
Yeah, we had one stolen a couple years ago. It sucks!
8:44 does Macky have helmet tan lines?
Yup, or at least dirt lines 😁
You guys are nuts. I would have died. Buzzards would’ve found me and followed me knowing I was about to die
You know it's a good ride when the buzzards start circling!
Epic! Nice job!
Thanks!
How many climates are you crossing? One minute you're in the forest and the next it's the middle of a desert
Start at 8000ft, end up around 2500... So definitely at least three microclimes in there!
syd has gotten a lot faster.
"none of this trails was downhill" - Maybe ride it in the other direction ^^. You should do a GPS race. Just let them sit somewhere for a time and then see which one went farther.
Ahahaha! I think Syd's would win...
Im sorry if you get this all
Of the time, but I’m sure your sponsors would appreciate it... What helmets are you guys wearing?
Lazer revolution MIPS with the ear pieces (also has a chin guard option). We will do a video with all 2018 kit soon!
Wow that must have been really tiring to ride for over seven hours.
How do you keep your battery life on the Go-pros? Because mine just runs out after an hour.
We carried a portable battery pack and had to charge one while using the other towards the end.
We're also careful to just film the stuff we want. Saves battery and makes editing easier!
Thanks for the information. I am from Australia and just starting my own TH-cam channel. you guys really inspired me to make one. Thanks!
Wicked video . Peace
Why not just drive the Subaru up to get the van?
Moto goes about twice as fast 🤫😂
Best date EVER!!!
♥️
just a short LIL ride guys..lol
Yup, pretty much a spin around the block 😁
Are you doing any EWS this year?
We will be doing the last two in Spain and Italu
Italy*
SYD and MACKY awesome! The EWS videos are my favorite, good luck
I may have missed it but what bike computers are you using?
I believe it’s a stages dash
Yup. Stages Dash. They're pretty awesome!
Right on! You guys are awesome! Looking forward to race season and following you both on here!
Hey what is the computer\GPS device that you guys use?
Stages Dash. We love it!
It's a beautiful relationship you guys have and I videos are amazing,I wasn't hating I was just curious.
No offense taken. It's a very valid question!
Taking good notice of your helmet sponsorship.
Hey. You Never go faster tired and if you do you tropically get sketchy on the trail.
One of my favorite channels. What gopros are you using? Check out the new GoPro Hero. Works well for me.
We use the GoPro Session 5. Great little camera.
SYD and MACKY nice camera helmet mounted. I have the new GoPro Hero 2018 camera. Do you mind checking out my channel and letting me know how it looks.
FYI. Going to SEDONA this weekend
What tires would you guys recomend going down something like this? :)
Either the Vittoria Mazza (bit.ly/35zOm7I) or Martello (bit.ly/3nAkkGZ)
@@sydandmacky great! Will check then out :)
sikk video
what model is that helmet it looks like something i want
It's the Lazer Revolution MIPS. Love it!
Mint they seem perfect
Poor Syd. :D
what is the song in the begginning?
It's called Way Back. Link in the description.
I died at 4212’.
Why the tape on Syd's bike?
See part 1 of our lemmon drop ride haha!
Prickly pears suck, I speak from experience, landed in one at Sedona MTB festival. The guys I were riding with were nice enough to dig spines outta my ass for like an hour.. lol hilarious, but not.
Those kinda crashes are only funny a couple weeks later...
SYD and MACKY truth!
Looks almost unpleasant for the most part
Type 2 fun! (Meaning it's fun when you look back on it a few weeks later 😝)
