My grandfather stormed Juno Beach as part of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. He died in 2010. Great man with a great sense of humor. Rest in peace.

Several years ago I showed this clip to my daughter's high school class. I have the great honour to recreate this unit for my WW2 living history group. Lots of emotion here.

My grandfather on my mothers side fought with this group, he made it through the way and died in 1993 of cancer..he never wanted to talk about the war, never! I guess it was just to painful as I know he lost a lot of close friends fighting for our freedom, so a word of thank you to all the brave men of the North Nova Scotia Highlanders. I think your the bravest of the brave and wish I could be half the man you all were. thank god for giving life to you all in order to protect us all someday..you did not fail in anything you done, thank you again for the things you done to keep us free.

My Dad was a NNSH too Wendell. When I read your comment that "he never wanted to talk about the war, never" was true of all of them. But one time, I got him to talk. I interviewed him about D-Day for a history assignment I had. He told me 3 of his best friends in the NNSH were run over by tanks. Of course you know them and the Sherbrooke Fusiliers made it the furthest trying to take the Carpiquet Airport. They were surrounded and 50 Panzer tanks were released against them. Many were run over and then the Hitler SS Youth knifed 84 of them in the next 24hrs. The North Novies regrouped and won the battle of Biron and Authie. They took that Airport. We owe them our lives.

I was very proud to see my great uncles headstone documented in this film Lloyd George Kennett. He left behind his wife and two young children plus hundreds of his family . He is my hero and I will never forget his sacrifices for freedom as all the other’s that fought for us . God Bless you all .

Mark , My great uncle L.G Kennett headstone is shown in this video . The NWO is just a continuation of what these brave men fought against in WW2 . I’d like to think that we can carry out what they do bravely sacrificed everything for . Now it’s my turn “No Retreating Footsteps “ 🇨🇦

Probably a very good video, I found the music much too loud, if you have to decrease the volume of the background music when someone talks, then it is too loud, pity, this would have been a great story of Canadian valour and grit. Stopped watching.

That's too bad you stopped watching, because you missed out on some amazing men, each of whom I've known, tell part of their story. I get your point, but you've totally missed THE point. Respect these gentlemen...and watch. Thanks for the input.
