- Vanessa Bryant - the widow of late NBA icon Kobe - appeared to reference her husband's rumored feud with his parents while sending her condolences following the death of his father.
The world of basketball is in mourning after Kobe's dad Joe Bryant tragically died at the age of 69 this week after recently suffering a stroke.
His passing comes four-and-a-half years after his son - then only 41 - and his granddaughter Gianna, 13, were among those killed in a helicopter crash.

Once we got married I work in construction and my wife was a cashier. I push work 95 to 104hrs a week. For 4 years. I paid my wifes masters degree and bar. She is now a lawyer. I also bought her a new car cash. She gone from making 36k to 280k a year. She lived with her perents all in her 20s and never supported her collage or our relationship. Kobe was setup it more to this story than what the media tell us. Remember there is a total disconnect with the family-- Kobe has two sisters that don’t have a relationship with there nieces, or there grandmother. The Laker organization and the NBA are equally responsible for the Bryant’s not to be mentioned at the funeral of an international star. The Staple Center is not controlled by Vanessa Bryant! Kobe’s family ( parents and sisters) were at the funeral! For them not to be mentioned is beyond being unethical. Shaq did make a general mention at the funeral but did not call out there names. Charles Barkley was the only sports NBA talk show host that actually mentioned Joe Jellybean Bryant on TV in relation to Kobe’s death. Not even the Commissioner or Jenne Buss mention Kobe’s parents and sisters. So this is why I feel it’s more to this story. Joe Bryant was a member of the NBA family he played 9 or 10 years in the league? So I blame the NBA , The Laker Organization, and Vanessa Bryant for not Mentioning and giving some type of public condolence to the Bryant family. Being a father and grandfather I could feel and empathize with Joe Bryant. Being a long time Laker supporter, I loss respect for the franchise after that funeral, I am still pissed about it to this day. Families have disagreements all the time, regardless of what race or culture. But in all my years when a child passes away the parents and siblings are recognized.
