The strawberry replay has the camera angle that should be used the entire match. They just don't learn.
The replay and the point were beatiful, but I'm not sure I'd like to have my view blocked by the players backs during the point with that camera angle. It was perfect in this short play though with no visibility blocking points.
They do it for the sponsors
World class cameras,world class stadium ,world class players ,but...

Just too solid, too good. Gionis did fine, just really didn't have a chance to take 4 games.
You're right. If Gionis is going to have any chance at all to beat Fan... he must take more risks... be more offensive and risk loosing points... but he's loosing the game anyway, so why not....?

You all are sleeping on the fact Gionis be making bank as a dentist instead of this no paying sport. Considering he's almost 45 and playing this well, he already won in my book.
Table tennis has no money in it compared to other sports for example there are probably only maybe 3 to 5 real pro table tennis players in the UK , some lower ranked players might occasionally get paid for a match but they won't make enough that they're actually getting a decent income from table tennis once their travel costs are taken away, they might even lose money. but at the highest level, around too 50 to 100 in the world minimum there is ALOT of money.
Gionis was one top 20.
I wouldn't be surprised if gionis made 300k plus in his peak which is surely much more than a dentist would make in a middle income country like Greece, I would be surprised if he makes more than 80k as a dentist
Of course, only Chinese contribute 100%, Westerners do this part time and I give them 200% respect.
This sport never pays, the money comes from the sponsors, like DHS, Joola, Xiom, and others.
@@PanchoGDMKWii That's true, but players receive sponsors because they are marketable. Why are they marketable? Because they are good enough to show up on big stages, which means they are taking the sport seriously. The point of OP is the impressiveness of time use to achieve relative success in 2 professions.
Doesn't matter if you are a rocket scientist, a dentist, or a 100 year old farmer, you will be judged here only for your table tennis. Fan Zendong is a a hands down winner period. Now you can get your wisdom tooth pulled by Gionis and adore him all you want.
He did well. Many above he's world Ranking level will never take a set from fan zen zong or have such exchanges

@@zhilkinn как будто у защитников есть иные варианты, кроме как перестать мешать нормальным игрокам разыграть титул на стадии ну максимум 1/8 Так называемым тренерам, которые прививают это убожество, рекомендую уйти из профессии, чтобы не портить будущие карьеры и вообще наш вид спорта

I agree. But the only way is nerfing the attackers equipment or the ball, table etc... Pimples and defensive rubbers have reached their max potential

FZD, Glückwunsch zum Auftaktatch Sieg gegen Panagiotis. Du bist viel beweglicher geworden. Wirkst frischer und athletischer. Taktisch besser eingestellt. Deine Top Spin ziehst du viel weicher als sonst und dein Spiel ziehst du anders auf. Du spielst überlegter, deiner Körpersprache ist eine andere. Ich bin ein großer Fan von dir und von deiner Spielweise.
Im Vorfeld hat er gegen Chopper genau diese Art von Spiel trainiert. Der Grieche spielt aber auch sehr gut. Ich will fast meinen das er auf einem Niveau mit Ruwen Filus ist.

Butterfly Viscaria = Fan Zhendong ALC, Forhand Hurricane 3 Bluesponge, Backhand used to be Tenerg05, I don't know, if he changed that. I wouldn't recommend to play pros equipment, because you need to be in a really good physique and have great technique to do well with such equipment. You won't play better just because you use some other equipment.

It's a Chinese robot machine. If the defenders are to have any chance of beating the Chinese, the height of the net must be increased. Otherwise, table tennis will become a game of who beats who. Which is what we're seeing now.
So what are you saying? To me it is pretty obvious. Play better. The chinese players have been beaten before. Long time ago now. But you can´t change the rules because someone is winning alot.
Not the height of the net. It is change of the ball. In yearly 2000-s he had 38mm celluloid ball. It was very spinny and had a different trajectory of flight. It made serves, push game and chops more powerfull and important aspects of the game. That is one of the reasons why in early 2000-s we had so much different styles.
Current ball is less spinny. But it makes it entertaining to watch for most of the people. Because it makes game more open, more fast and long rallies. Previous ball created more mistakes in push game, more tactics, but it just doesn't look showily for most of the people
I'll never understand the logic behind "because the Chinese is winning, 'XY and Z' must change". That's like saying because the US dominates basketball in the Olympics, dunking should be banned. Sounds like non-Chinese players just need to do better. No one likes landslides especially in sports, but let's not fault others for your own shortcomings.
the Chinese always win (and deservedly so) because their league is by far the strongest and they always train/play against each other. if you want to be among the best players in the world you should move to China.
@@hawnt2r I agree with you. During 2000-2014 was the best time of table tennis. 40 mm celluloid ball was much more spinny and rallies did not look mechanical. Only talented ones could play blocking game as Samsanov and Kenta.. After plastic ball, Players like Harimato, Truls etc. can easily do counter shot to Xu Xin's spins or Zhang Jike's backhand flicks. For example, despite of Timo's heavy spin, Harimato can easily do counter block or shot. However, Harimato gets in trouble with Aruna's faster and less spinny balls.
The spirit of table tennis is spin based game, not counter shot one.

Bastó con ver solo el primer set para ver como ganaría Fan, totalmente derrotado en actitud desde el inicio el chopper, cero hambre de ganar, ver su lento desplazamiento para ser un chopper me decia que seria una perdida de tiempo ver el partido completo, mejor no se hubiera presentado

@@The_Great_One might be, but still, this is the first round of worlds, so it's not too unusual to see older players there.
It's not about lack of talents, that's the great thing about TT, no matter if young or old, disbaled or not, man or woman, fat or thin, at the end, it's all about are you good enough.
It's a wonderful sport to age in, because it's not as physically as other sports like Tennis or Football, you can make up for your aging body with ur wits and experience (only to a certain amount of cause, but it can help you win games, you shouldn't have).
