I have not seen a pinto in a very long time. I remember seeing 2 guys with a track car all the time when I was a teenager and they were always on a neighborhood street trying to get it going.
Pintos are like the US version of the old Alphas - mostly spotted broken down on the side of the road 😅 but lots of fun when they run. There probably aren't many left since they were known to blow up if you looked at them too hard 😅

I owned that year of Pinto new. First brand new car we bought after getting married. Traded it in afterwards when my wife got pregnant. White with a black and white checkered vinyl top. Dealership tried to sell it for almost as much as I paid for it new.

Damn Richard.I am a Ford guy through and through, but damn, a Pinto? You may as well bought a Yugo.
Do you know the difference between the two? The Pinto was a dependable car and it can be modified to go fast. No Yugo was ever dependable and you sure can't modify it to do anything.
You must of never heard of the Pony Express Pinto from back in the day.

For 1933 the Ford was given a new cruciform double-drop chassis frame, and its wheelbase stretched half a foot to 112 inches. Evolutionary upgrades were made to the engine: improved ignition and cooling systems and new aluminum heads with 6.3 to 1 compression that raised horsepower to 75. Eugene “Bob” Gregorie slanted the flat windshield back, employed a similarly sloped grille and mounted the headlights directly to the fenders. For the 1933 Ford, Edsel Ford wanted a more graceful design than the 1932 style. It was Edsel himself who came up with the idea of using Gregorie’s Model Y concept for the lengthened 1933 Ford.
