Great looking and sounding truck man! Love the lift and rims!! I took mine to a local shop and had them delete everything from the cats back. No muffler, valve, or resonator only cost me $80. Sounds freaking awesome! I'd take the valve out just because you don't need it if your not going into V4 mode. Even if you were, the drone ain't that bad, it kinda sounds like a helicopter at some speeds but I don't mind it at all. It will for sure make it a bit louder. Cold starts in the morning are amazing but I'm sure my neighbors aren't fond of it lol. I also get like a popping sound when it shift at WOT. Love the setup man!!

@@FixItNick I can post a video if your interested. I live in commiefornia too so I have all 3 CATs but nothing else. Muffler gone, flapper valve gone and resonator gone. I like the sound, it's a pretty raw V8 sounding growl. I can understand why some don't like the sound of it but I love it. I pull a travel trailer and in tow mode with it holding higher RPM it still isn't that bad. I was actually surprised it was as "quite" as it is when I picked it up after getting it done. 👍👍

Hey bud remove the exhaust valve an use one of them band clamps you used with your straight pipe setup to cover the holes an tighten down Viola, P.s. sounds pretty good!

Like the sound. But if your looking for a little more loudness to it. Then I have an idea cause the 5.3 is an ls motor and they are able to be extremely loud with the right set up. Do some magnaflow high flow cats with a Y pipe going into a single flow master super 10 and dualed out the back with some longer 18x3 inch black tips. But if your looking to go def lol just true dual it from cats back with no resonator

Take some lighter fluid and spray it inside the meeting of the exhaust to and light the lighter fluid it will burn the fiberglass in that glass pack up and make it sound more throaty sounds great at the end revs though

Hey as you was driving I kept hearing a knock when you hit cracks in the road. Just a slight knocking sounds like something in suspension. I actually had. A knock like that on my 2006 Silverado had to go back and forth with them about the Rack and Pinion. They Finally replace it and never had that knock again. Sweet truck got to say that. My 4.3 don't sound that throaty

just to let u know if you don't already...with bigger tires on, you're going faster than your spedometer tells you. in my truck I'm running 35's and stock was 31's. I'm going 10% faster than what my speedometer tells me.

So I just replaced my muffler with a Super 44, I have a 2017 5.3 also, and it's not enough sound. I'm wondering if I should straight pipe or take the resonator out...
Resonator does quiet down, you removed valve flap? I want to do another vid with flap fully open or removed and resonator disconnected to compare
@@FixItNick yes I took the valve out still not very much. Thinking of taking out the muffler and just straight piping like you, sounds good even with the resonator.
