I never understand why people care so much that their old stuff sounds like Neck Deep. Isn't that a good thing? That's a pretty big compliment for them if you ask me. I'm interested to hear how the whole album sounds. Digging this song a lot.
Wasn't sure about Wstr before. This song has really changed my mind on them. Leave the Neck Deep comparisons alone, they're on top of their game at the minute, there's no issues with being influenced in someway or another.
I love WSTR for the reason that they sound a lot like Neck Deep, but let us not forget that these two bands have been bros since the beginning and they're bound to have similar music styles. Keep doing your thing WSTR! So glad you got signed to Hopeless!
The more I listen to this the more I love it. It's not typical WSTR but I like it. They're branching out with their sound enough to differentiate themselves from other bands and it's awesome! Can't wait for the album!
Warren Bartlett I mean they had a very similar sound on their album. This doesn't sound like that. Not typical of their sound when comparing to the last album. He even puts more rasp in his voice at parts.
TheRandomExplorer this songs getting alot of hate, but I like it alot also. I think the people that like this song alot probably grew up around the time when this type of pop punk was big back in the 2000s.
This is the first song I’ve heard by them. I’ve heard of them before but just never listened to them. So why is everyone complaining. Seriously someone please explain this to me.
Mandy B. Monroe Listen to SKRWD and Red, Green or Inbetween and you’ll most likely understand why some people don’t like this song. I personally don’t like it but have hope for the rest of the album.
honestly not to be rude to anyone commenting this and I get everyone has their own opinions but now and days nothing sounds original and some musicians just take inspiration from others, that's all. I appreciate the effort these guys put in to this!!
I thought it was good. The video is very peace and panic esque, but the song isn’t at all. Not sure what you guys are talking about. The bouncing beat, the octaves, and the guitar solo especially, this doesn’t sound like Neck Deep at all. The only thing this reminds me of is the bounciness of Dead! by MCR.
I've listened to WSTR since they dropped RGOI way back when, and it's nice to see that they have their own sound. Yeah, they grew on being angrier, but their sound just evolved into something they creatively wanted to do. Pop punk is about self expression and having fun, and if the lads in WSTR wanna make a different sounding song (with more unique vocals and a dope ass guitar solo) they should be able to without people saying they killed pop punk, or that it's shit. I personally love this song as much, or more than RGOI and SKRWD, and I'm excited for the lads. It's hard to stand out in a genre that is all derivative of the same inspirations and influences, so don't just write them off or say they are new neck deep, who are my personal favourite band, because they're far from it. You want diet neck deep? Listen to RGOI and tell me it isn't a 1:1 B-Side of LNOTGY.
Ayyy the boys are finally on hopeless lol about time i hope you guys start getting some major recognition ill probably see you in september in nashville
I Was Introduced To These Gents Last Night Through The Peace And The Panic Tour With Neck Deep. Before They Played This Song The Singer Was Like “Now This Next Song A Lot Of You Fuckin’ Hated It But We’re Gonna Play It Anyway, It’s Called Bad To The Bone.” (I Personally Like It And I’m Glad I Found Out About ‘Em, The Show Was Fucking Sick Btw)
jinx haushika people are mad because they changed from there older sound from their ep and debut album which was more raw sounding pop punk, but I kinda like this new song because it has that early 2000s pop punk and power pop sound which I like.
As to everyone consistently bringing up Neck deep and shitting on their sound and WSTR’s sound, shut up. Support the guys, or go somewhere else man. I’m gonna keep listening to badass music while you all keep hating
Neck Deep made something new with In Bloom and now all bands are making the same videos (colours, close-up to camera...). Anyway, I like the video! Update: about Real Friends last video, guess what? More colours! Update 2: With confidence last video: C-o-l-o....
best fucking song they've put out. and ive loved everything they've ever put out. they deserve the success thts headed their way. they havent changed their sound, they have progressed it. its dope af. CHEERS BOYS🍻
Well I've seen them 3 times for being support acts at shows I've been too, and idk where this voice has come from because it's high pitched as shit live 😭😂
I was really hoping this album would be their Life’s Not Out To Get You, honestly. I’ll still check out the album when it comes out, but this song kinda killed my hype after really enjoying their EP and debut.
Have to say I fucking love wstr but I hated this first listen I was like wtf is this hahah...but 4th listen and I actually like it Edit: ok now I can’t stop listening to it it’s damn catchy
WSTR (diet neck deep) - "Hey Neck Deep, can we borrow your homework?" Neck Deep - "sure, just change it a little so the teacher doesn't notice" WSTR - Bad to the Bone
Brandon Riggle but I mean is it bad though it just gives me a lighter version of neck deep and then actually neck deep in the same night either way I win
Dan Sorensen yah respect anyone with a label but No Sleep has been strongly upsetting when it comes down to releases, promotions and touring options for their bands, like I don’t think I’ll ever see Muskets.
TheDeliman Moose Blood is a great example of a band who had never played a US show until after they signed to Hopeless, which was months prior to their first warped tour. The Wonder Years was doing great under No Sleep same with Balance and Composer, but that’s my issue, No Sleep started with so much promise La Dispute, Touché Amore, Tiger Jaw etc etc etc, and even though they all went to bigger labels they were promoted well and I wouldn’t call any of them better labels. But right now they have Hot Mulligan and Muskets who could be money grabs but it’s like No Sleep have been sleeping a lot lately, and it’s keeping their artist down.
christian sharnee the only thing similar is the music video with the pastel colors like in bloom. alot pop punk bands are doing this right now. But sound of this song is different from neck deep.
My Chemical Romance + Neck Deep + The All American Rejects = This Song. Imo. No negativity, just saying that I think they were influenced by these bands big time. Love the song, love WSTR, love Identity Crisis album.
This song isn't that bad... Also Neck Deep and Real friends are doing what I hoped other bands would do. I like how Real Friend's new song sounds happier and sounds a bit like pop but still using guitars and such. I know a lot of people hate how these bands sound but I actually really like it and I feel like if bands continue with this sound I think pop punk will become more known and popular like it was when blink 182 put out What's my age again.
The lyrics are genius, actually gave me a lot of confidence to move on from the homophobic bully that I got harassed from for three years. Don't give up!
I mean I have really dug all of wstr's stuff, and though I do have to say that I am not a fan of this, I wouldnt say these guys are trying to copy neck deep when it probably has something more to do with the label. I really can't say for sure but just notice the patterns on bands from the label and the time frame of the releases. I mean knuckle puck's album was good, and state champs new stuff though more mature is sounding fire. And I mean I guess The Wonder Years just does whatever the hell they want because their sound is unique af and I don't really follw their new stuff too much anymore. I'll reserve judgement for wstr though because of how much I really liked their old stuff. Brainsick, South Drive, and Graveyard Shift are all songs they should have gotten way more credit for than they did.
So as to be fair to this band, I can say that after listening to the new album quite a bit, I like this song a lot more. But funny enough I watched this video again and I think part of my opinion about this song before was the video. Not really a fan of it so that may have had something to do with it. That plus no lie i was a bit worried that a lot more of the songs were gonna be like this haha. But i did find myself really enjoying some of the poppier elements of the songs like "Hide Everything Sharp". All in all yeah there is a change in the elements but once again WSTR managed to throw in a few real bangers like the one previously mentioned, along with "Tell Me More", and "Riddle Me This" so i'm cool with it.
This is better than half the songs on peace and panic, even though that album had some bangers. I mean sure they're not innovators, but it's pop punk guys, cmon
Just discovered this band like 3 weeks ago and since then I’ve been pounding their whole discography like my life depends on it
I never understand why people care so much that their old stuff sounds like Neck Deep. Isn't that a good thing? That's a pretty big compliment for them if you ask me.
I'm interested to hear how the whole album sounds. Digging this song a lot.
I think when they say they sound like Neck Deep, they are saying that they are being unoriginal. So, it's kind of a insult?
Wasn't sure about Wstr before. This song has really changed my mind on them. Leave the Neck Deep comparisons alone, they're on top of their game at the minute, there's no issues with being influenced in someway or another.
I used to think they were a neck deep rip off, and while they do sound incredibly similar, I feel like they do it better. Just my opinion.
I agree, every band makes different songs and it’s a gift of music. Rock on ❤🤘
I love WSTR for the reason that they sound a lot like Neck Deep, but let us not forget that these two bands have been bros since the beginning and they're bound to have similar music styles.
Keep doing your thing WSTR! So glad you got signed to Hopeless!
I just saw these guys on tour with Neck Deep. They were pretty impressive and it was obvious how much fun they were having performing.
The more I listen to this the more I love it. It's not typical WSTR but I like it. They're branching out with their sound enough to differentiate themselves from other bands and it's awesome! Can't wait for the album!
That Guy I agree, I think I love this so much is because I grew up in the early/mid 2000s pop punk heyday and this song gives me that vibe.
Totally agreed! It has that early 2000's warped tour vibes. Definitely a great summer song!
That Guy PLEASE CHECK US OUT, YOU WON'T REGRET IT, THANK YOU 🌹🌹
I love how it's not 'typical' WSTR off the back of one album 😑
Warren Bartlett I mean they had a very similar sound on their album. This doesn't sound like that. Not typical of their sound when comparing to the last album. He even puts more rasp in his voice at parts.
This is so Bowling for Soup-y, I love this kinda pop punk ahhh
TheRandomExplorer this songs getting alot of hate, but I like it alot also. I think the people that like this song alot probably grew up around the time when this type of pop punk was big back in the 2000s.
I agree this is solid 2000s mixed with modern pop punk. Which ain’t a bad thing
I totally see that!! I was just saying they reminded me of someone. & That's who it was!!
Whenever a song by these guys or Neck Deep comes up on shuffle, I often have a hard time figuring out which band is which 😂
Hate on this song or band, whatever you want, doesn’t excuse how catchy it is and how good of a song it is.
I appreciate the effort these guys put in to this!!
the chorus has that good charlotte spice
I thought it was good. The video is very peace and panic esque, but the song isn’t at all. Not sure what you guys are talking about. The bouncing beat, the octaves, and the guitar solo especially, this doesn’t sound like Neck Deep at all. The only thing this reminds me of is the bounciness of Dead! by MCR.
Aidan Cruskie yes it doesnt sound nothing like neck deep, it sounds like a pop punk mixed with power pop song from the early 2000s.
thank you for this comment 🙏
Was feeling the same thing
I love your songs, guys. They deserve more views!
I've listened to WSTR since they dropped RGOI way back when, and it's nice to see that they have their own sound. if you don't think this is one of the best WSTR songs, you can get out of my face
Fantastic. Lots of albums so far this year have dissapointed me, but this looks promising. Loved the debut record.
Good to see these guys finding their own sound and not just sounding like a neck deep clone, interested to see where they go from here!
The best!!!
What's with the hate? This is the first WSTR song I've heard I and fuckin love it!!
jinx haushika people are mad because they changed from there older sound from their ep and debut album which was more raw sounding pop punk, but I kinda like this new song because it has that early 2000s pop punk and power pop sound which I like.
stonedgamer 420 well Its better to change than releasing the same kinda shit again and again
Lads are moving up! Welcome to the Hopeless fam my dudes 🔥
WELCOME TO HOPELESS BOYS. MAN AM I EXCITED
Proud to see the boys getting signed
My favorite band with my favorite record company
As to everyone consistently bringing up Neck deep and shitting on their sound and WSTR’s sound, shut up. Support the guys, or go somewhere else man. I’m gonna keep listening to badass music while you all keep hating
Ayyyyy WSTR is on Hopeless! does this mean more tours? ;)
The song is a banger! The music video is a mainstream Hopeless thing!
Dope. Can’t wait for full album
how many member changes must this band have lmao
basements did the singer change?
no no it only sounds like it, think he's been the only consistent member
Sammy and Alex are original members
Jan Nisperos nope but thought the same because they changed their looks a lot
Lol only one guitarist left... they all changed their looks
dont understand the hate this band gets i think they sound sick!
i remember my first song being Eastbound and Down that i found on a pop punk spotify playlist. now this is one of my favorite bands
Funny that they made this new album to break free from their neck deep comparisons. This song structure and video reminds me so much of In Bloom.
i feel like that american hi-fi band (first and second album). so good
The look on his face at the end of the song is priceless
"what are you doing" "no no no no no you cant touch that, you cant touch that cmon lets go" Gets me everytime haha
goodbye danny :,(
Edd Hartley who's danny?
Pancake Banana the old guitar player
@@TheSkater207 Thought so. they've lost their old drummer as well. That dude was a machine.
Neck Deep made something new with In Bloom and now all bands are making the same videos (colours, close-up to camera...). Anyway, I like the video!
Update: about Real Friends last video, guess what? More colours!
Update 2: With confidence last video: C-o-l-o....
Iván I see what your were saying, but Bryce vine did it first. Might just be the trendy thing and neck deep jumped on before anyone else
yeah but I ment pop-punk videos
It's literally because it's the same director.
Sam J Lance same label but different director
Iván Nope. Lewis Cater directed both.
I love the fact that they’re finally signed by hopeless and I love the band but this took a few listens for me to like the song
best fucking song they've put out. and ive loved everything they've ever put out. they deserve the success thts headed their way. they havent changed their sound, they have progressed it. its dope af. CHEERS BOYS🍻
Well I've seen them 3 times for being support acts at shows I've been too, and idk where this voice has come from because it's high pitched as shit live 😭😂
Two years of Identity Crisis!
took me a day but it grew on me , amazing song
Comparing this to Footprints from the previous album genuinely makes me laugh out loud. What a hard fall from grace.
I was really hoping this album would be their Life’s Not Out To Get You, honestly. I’ll still check out the album when it comes out, but this song kinda killed my hype after really enjoying their EP and debut.
just discovered this band and omg... love it
Love this!!!! Hope to catch a WSTR show soon!!!
Have to say I fucking love wstr but I hated this first listen I was like wtf is this hahah...but 4th listen and I actually like it
Edit: ok now I can’t stop listening to it it’s damn catchy
Yooo same it's not bad but fun fact my name is Mat with one t :P
Same here lol its also much better without the video i blared it in the car on the way home and its pretty dope
Dude same. Every time I listen to it I like it better lol
All my favorite songs I hate at first. Some songs just grow on you with time. Something with this genre gets me like this
Matt damn same with me , hated it first but then it poped up in my playlist...fucking love this song
This deserves so much more viewers
WSTR (diet neck deep) - "Hey Neck Deep, can we borrow your homework?"
Neck Deep - "sure, just change it a little so the teacher doesn't notice"
WSTR - Bad to the Bone
lmao. tbf wstr always copied
Diet neck deep🤣🤣😂😂
diet neck deep lmfao hahahahahahahaha
Brandon Riggle but I mean is it bad though it just gives me a lighter version of neck deep and then actually neck deep in the same night either way I win
WSTR - Featherweight > Neck Deep - Can't kick up the roots
Bout time maybe we can get a worth while US tour out of this.
They're opening for Neck Deep's PatP2 tour starting soon over here!!!
Dan Sorensen yah respect anyone with a label but No Sleep has been strongly upsetting when it comes down to releases, promotions and touring options for their bands, like I don’t think I’ll ever see Muskets.
Gotcha, I'm ignorant to it all I guess however I only found these cats in January.
true but No Sleep put a lot of bands on the map like Moose Blood and The Wonder Years, who all went to Hopeless lol
TheDeliman Moose Blood is a great example of a band who had never played a US show until after they signed to Hopeless, which was months prior to their first warped tour. The Wonder Years was doing great under No Sleep same with Balance and Composer, but that’s my issue, No Sleep started with so much promise La Dispute, Touché Amore, Tiger Jaw etc etc etc, and even though they all went to bigger labels they were promoted well and I wouldn’t call any of them better labels. welcome to hopeless 🙌🔥🔥🔥🙌
Let´s go boys! Loving the new single.
Come to Argentina!
Everyone is talking about the new sound, and I'm just like 'What the hell did Sammy do to his hair?'
Found his on Spotify, best this it’s given me
Hyped for the new album after this 🤙💥
thanks WSTR
y'all complaining but if MCR made this it would be a classic
I kinda like it. It’s definitely a new side of wstr.
Don’t understand why everyones hating on this song...???
Trying to make myself like this, but i can't. Hope the other songs from the new album doesn't disappoints.
ToucheManor feel this 100%. i support wstr all the way but im disappointed
Catchy!
Loved this banger song 😘💪🔥🫶
More guitar solos like this pls!
derxdickexPolizist I like the guitar solos also, very power pop sounding.
this is too good mate
love the bridge
Love these lads
Hyped
WSTR starts at 2:14.
Neck Deep starts at 2:26
My Chemical Romance starts at 2:37.
No need to thank me, pass it forward.
This was different, but muh bois are at it again and that makes me happy.
Sick! This is pop punk!
this only feeds the idea that theyre a neck deep copy as neck deeps sound progresses wstrs does in the same direction right after
christian sharnee the only thing similar is the music video with the pastel colors like in bloom. alot pop punk bands are doing this right now. But sound of this song is different from neck deep.
WSTR is an English pop punk band based in Liverpool, United Kingdom. their new single "Bad To The Bone" NICE SONG/GOOD VIDEO!!!😃😀☺😉😜😁
My Chemical Romance + Neck Deep + The All American Rejects = This Song. Imo. No negativity, just saying that I think they were influenced by these bands big time. Love the song, love WSTR, love Identity Crisis album.
they truly are having an Identity Crisis
Great song & video
This song isn't that bad... Also Neck Deep and Real friends are doing what I hoped other bands would do. I like how Real Friend's new song sounds happier and sounds a bit like pop but still using guitars and such. I know a lot of people hate how these bands sound but I actually really like it and I feel like if bands continue with this sound I think pop punk will become more known and popular like it was when blink 182 put out What's my age again.
YESSS BOYSSSS!!!!!!! ❤
The lyrics are genius, actually gave me a lot of confidence to move on from the homophobic bully that I got harassed from for three years. Don't give up!
'Till the new album came out, I still preffer Red, Green Or In-Between. Btw it's a catchy song.
constantly jamming to this song, good job boys 🤘🏻
1:08 your eyes mate haha
If you’re here reading this right now, you clearly got some good taste 😉
I can bop to this!
Loving this but where's Danny????
2nd this, maybe got bored being guitarist in a band when he's a better singer than the vocalist
wikipedia says he's still in the band, wouldn't trust it tho
WSTR have removed him from the twitter bio plus he hasn’t been on tour with them recently so I’m assuming he quit 😢
Kristian Healey WSTR have a new member called Tom as well now
Does anyone happen to know what the story was with Kieran Alder too? Looks like he's been gone for quite some time as well.
i now love this band
WOW. I love it!!
Awesome song as per usual
love this 🙌🏻
well done lads!!
Wish this album could come faster ahhHHHHHHHHHHHHHh
good vibes are everywhere ❤
Loving this song
this is the perfect example of the sum 41 - still waiting vid
I mean I have really dug all of wstr's stuff, and though I do have to say that I am not a fan of this, I wouldnt say these guys are trying to copy neck deep when it probably has something more to do with the label.

Ugh can’t stop listening to this song! 😰
グッシャーだね! 懐かしい感じ
I thought this was Dead! by My Chemical Romance
Ben Cook MCR REFERENCE! CHECK OUR SONG MATE! YOU MIGHT FIND YOURSELF ENJOYING IT!! PLEASE TAKE YOUR TIME, THANK YOUUU 🌹🌹🌹
Ben Cook and yes guitar riff sounds like Dead!
This is better than half the songs on peace and panic, even though that album had some bangers. I mean sure they're not innovators, but it's pop punk guys, cmon
