    I live in the South Island of NZ, glad you guys enjoyed your stay here. I have to say, this was a refreshing video to watch. The honesty and real tunes are a great point of difference to the typical ADV videos I watch. If you watch enough youtube you hear all the same royalty free music on repeat. Reference to a little traveling tension, some great music, you don't normally get that. The speeding stop cracked me up, cop all proud about his 130 lol. Cops here are cool if you're cool with them. I'm subbed, keen to see where this channel goes. Also, the guy at 4:40 was trying to let you pass...

      Appreciate that! It was an awesome trip! Yea I was just filming the big sheep in the back of his trailer before I passed him, you don’t see that every day here. By the end of the trip I’d seen enough sheep to last a lifetime.

      @@wayweroam Yeah, that was probably a very expensive ram being taken to fuck a paddock full of lady sheep. Tough life...

    If you want to come and see New Zealand, you MUST put at least five weeks aside to explore it. This would be a minimum. NZ is truly a stunning place on SO many levels. A 450cc motorcycle is more than ample to see NZ

    As a recently retired LEO I loved that the Kiwi was smiling and joking with you about it, that was always my demeanor for 29 years in California. Another beautiful video!! The camera work was amazing, as always!! The music selection off da hook!! I flew from CA to VA when I was 6 to visit my dad. He gave me The Hobbit and a boxed set of the Trilogy. I started reading The Hobbit on the plane ride back, yep at 6yo lol. I grew up reading fantasy and Louis L'Amour then moved on to solely to fantasy through college and thereafter. When technology became good enough to do a good job with The Hobbit and Trilogy, it was a day I'd been waiting for since a young kid. You couldn't do too much parallels, quotes for my taste :^) I ride my 650KLR here in Montana regularly. I ride with a Sena 50c too. Turns out it's a great camera. What are you using for your forward camera while riding? I never actually see you with a GoPro on. I love the Sena's camera but I've always got my helmet in the camera and not much of a view for the right side lol. Also, was Maggie on the Ride BDR trip while you were in New Zealand??

    • @wayweroam
      @wayweroam  หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you! Most of the forward facing camera is a GoPro, I think I had the 12 on that trip, the quality of the GoPro is awesome now! I think Maggie did the bdrx a little later in the year, I hopped off this trip and did a bunch of sections of Arizona, socal and Nevada bdr with a few Harley dealers. Great riding for sure! Montana is slated to get a BDR in the near future.
      Thanks for watching

    I've done Porika road on a T7 loaded with gear so can't wait to see how it goes on the Pan America, you'll have to be on the ball. I can't imagine Porika ever getting to a grade 2 even at it's best certainly nowhere near as easy as the Rainbow. Braeburn and Maruia saddle are both beaut rides. Safe travels, Subscribed

    Great video. Watching with interest the Pan Am’s. The Porika road is well worth it, not too bad and easy enough on the bikes you’ve got. Used to hood over there on a Honda 500 as a young feller. Happy travels 👍😎

      It’s stunning! Your country is pretty great, and the officer was pretty nice, I was pretty close to getting the bike impound because of the speed I was at. Luckily I wasn’t going that fast. I did also get a ticket but it wasn’t horrible

    This is the first time watching your channel, I came to to a shocking realisation that your Friend Justin Kleiter from the first moment when you guys sat down at the first camp site was trying to hard to over think and and plan things for either himself or both of you, when it comes down to overland travel the best thing I have came to realize is that you should have a general idea and direction but then just wing it as the days roll by.

    • @wayweroam
      @wayweroam  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I think as the rest of this series plays out it will become clear that Justin K was on an expedition and wanted to create a back country discovery route in New Zealand.
      Maggie and I both prefer just going with the flow. But doing an expedition with Justin K gave me the foundation to creating the rides Maggie and I both did after this trip in NZ. I have a lot of respect for Justin K he is very good at planning and thinks through multiple scenarios including the “what if we get stranded here or injured in this area, what are the options for rescue”
      Thanks for watching the channel

      There is a guys in NZ renting out Pan Ams, I want to say it was $300 a day. I was on the hook for providing content to Harley-Davidson in exchange for loaning us the bikes.
