    Absolutely brilliant! I have some of those straight edges which work perfectly as guides for my router when doing round overs on MDF, but I can see how they can pull double duty with this nifty little jig. Thank you sir, keep up the great content!

      @@CasualDIY Hi sir, If I want to extend the length of the T-track, what accessory will I buy to extend it? The maximum length I can buy in the shop is 800mm. I want to extend it so I can cut a whole 4x8 ft plywood. Do you have a video of it??. Thank you in advance.

    The problem with this saw track isn’t the woodwork….it’s obtaining that extra long super straight ali T track. Amazon doesn’t like T track over 14 inches. You CAN get it in four foot lengths if you don’t mind buying ten at once for 90 bucks….Angle iron might be an option, but getting it absolutely straight can take some researching….However, the build is well done, well explained and inspiring…Thank you.

    • @CasualDIY

      Yes the T-track length may be an issue for larger jobs unfortunately

    Would you have to make individual jigs for different blades? Or can the same jig be used? Great idea, thanks for sharing.

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      if the kerf will be the same then no reason to change the jig. However if the kerf of the blade will be different then this could produce some inaccuracy.

    Excellent idea, and this is simple enough for me to have a go. What type of ply are you using and roughly what were the dimensions of your stock please?

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks, its 12mm construction graded ply. I can't find this jig at the moment ( moved houses ) but from the t-track side it was 2cm from the edge to the base of the saw and the rest is not that important, leave at least 2cm - 5cm around the base of the saw.

    I’ve never used clamps on a mitre saw because the rotation of the blade pulls the workpiece hard against the datum edge. I’ve always had good results without clamps but is there maybe a safety reason for using them that I don’t know about?

    • @CasualDIY
      @CasualDIY  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Fingers away from the blade, work piece secure. For me that's a win win scenario😁👍

    have the same Parkside guide clamps, i wish if they made them around 125cm of clamping capabilities instead of 100 cm so you can get away with cross cutting on plywood sheets. by the way the einhell TE-CS 18 cordless circular saw have a built in groove for that , both the parkside and einhell are around the same price range. So if anyone out there getting a new saw consider the einhell if you haven't invested in the parkside x-team battery family.

    Why not just clamp the t track down and run the saw along it’s edge without the jig ?
