It made me laugh harder than it needed to when he got poisoned and he thought back to what Ines yelled to him as he ran, and he just thought she was yelling that it’s not just a frog, but a poisonous one
Someone please give this man a book about monsters with pictures included... Dude needs to learn difference between cow/frog and minotaur/dragon. Goblin I blame on princess :D
book will need size and weight statistics as well. otherwise he'll imagine the scale completely wrong. also, he has read a fair few books and heroic stories when younger. I guess the illustrations were just stylized caricatures in his mind...
Read the manga and I was happy how they executed this episode. This arc is actually pretty sick which shows how OP Noor is while parrying common sense 😅
I assume he's going to use that "Basic Heal" skill to completely heal the instant death poison that somehow hasn't killed him yet. I suspect the Noor that the knight's father misses is probably this Noor's father who was an adventurer who died. Maybe that's where Noor's skills come from.
At the rate we're going the final episode is gonna be "I Parry a Skeleton" and Noor is going to kill the literal embodiment of death itself and still not understand how strong he is and I would not complain at all.
It's even funnier 2 episodes later when Lynn thinks he's sad for the slave boy they just rescued (who Noor has no idea was a slave) when he's actually just disappointed that he didn't get to eat the 'frog.'
Parries perfect memories of people's names... Parries tension from time to time... Parries physical attacks from a poison toad... Parries poison breaths... Parries fatal damage... And parries Ines's misgivings, to the point she realizes why her foster father has mad respect for him? Noor, patron saint of parrying, perseverance, fortitude and self-sacrifice, pray for us. 🙏
I parry a toad was something i didnt expect at all. But i hope they keep up this naming scheme, something that is like its part of his journal or something.
So with the "I Parry a ..." theme going on, will we eventually see a "I Parry a harem"? 😂 Why does this show look so good compared to others? Really enjoyable show so far!
Bro was playing Sekiro while everyone was playing Monster Hunter fr fr. He kinda remind like Soldier from TF2 in a way, in that he got guts but isn't really the brightest tool in the shed. (probably a bad example but you know what I mean) Oh and idk if the anime will mention it in the next episode or not (it probably would), but the reason he didn't straight up die from what I've read is because when he was a kid, he literally took shroom lmao. Ok but seriously the true story is that he accidentally picked a very (and I do mean VERY) poisonous mushroom and it gave him food poisoning for a whole week, during which he was still training and only sustained himself with [Low Heal] lmao. You gotta admire the grind and dedication of this guy to fight through fatal poison WHILE still training, talk about being a stoic.
You know, I think that's one reason his low level "basic" skills seem so strong is because of his training. While most people only learn the basics to move on quickly to more powerful skills, he focuses on them because that's all he has to work with. I think it was two episodes back when Lynne saw and was impressed with his "Tiny Flame" skill, I think that was the name. We saw how her teacher talked about how skills worked some then too.
Common sense is a lot easier to recognize in hindsight... from within a characters' perspective, and from their experiences, however... not so much. Naivety can be a killer.
I have no idea how author wrote this to make main MC survive one of the deadliest poison, I am assuming the demoness girl/boy has some antidote in case somehow demon poisons guide?? duno.
@@AHBrandonReviews Its difficult to know as there was no indication but you are probably right, multiple abilities that he thinks are nothing :D very good episode was surprised seeing other knights and assassins in the action cleaning city so of demons. I hope mc gets aid he is not looking good now.
Guess we didn't have to wait to long to see why she reacted to his name, though one other misunderstanding adding to so many others. Just wondering how they are going to parry plot armor against this deadly toxin from this toxic frog, but my guess is that demon kid is going to help somehow and getting added to the party.
I believed that issue here was that the MC didn't acquired more that parry skill when he trained at the sword school. And, I guess, in this world, without the actual offensive sword skill, it's not going to be very effective. Plus, that legendary sword was actually blunt?
Ines kinda lost quite an amount of respect points with me that episode... Sacrificing Noor because of her "I must protect Lynne" and prejudice towards demons ... I mean, we sure know well how capable Lynne is. I kinda have the feeling Ines thinks lesser of any people no matter what talent they have and how good it might be. A tag team combo with Lynne could have helped Noor by a lot... And as I can see it, I have the impression that demon boy was kinda talked into leading that frog towards the capital... If he hadn't been that distressed he wouldn't have lost control so easily, I dare claim. Noor thinking it was a frog, as I honestly did so myself, was kind of coming. I like running gags if they are executed well. But hats off, still tanking while taking two WWII class poison bombs.. 🫡 My prediction for the next episode, he's going to use his "basic heal" and is like "Lucky me, that was just a light poison".... I mean, he sure had confidence to win the fight before the cliffhanger came in....
That's what I'm thinking too with Noor. My line of thinking about his skills goes back an episode or two. Remember how Lynne was so impressed with his "Tiny Flame" being so big and what her teacher said. I believe he has practiced and honed ALL his basic skills that they are now OP. That is what I think is the main thing, that he can and has focused so much. But since he hasn't had anyone to compare it against, much less an expert of that skill, he will always think he's weak.
Right now, Ines is juggling her duties, her guilt for abandoning the country to fulfill her duties, her jealousy of Noor, and suspicion of the demonkin kid. So it doesn’t surprise me that she’s letting her emotions get the better of her. I’m half expecting her to come out of this accusing Noor of being an enemy because he protected the kid. And when she realizes how wrong she is, about pretty much everything in this situation, she’s going to be wracked with guilt. And I agree about the kid being under duress. More than likely, the Empire found a village of demonkin hidden away, and decided to make their monster tamers work for them by taking their loved ones hostage.
@@coltonwilliams4153 I don't think she's feeling too much about abandoning the country since she see's her duty to Lynne as the top one. You might be right about suspecting Noor after everything is took care of. But I don't think it will be too much though. As for guilt, I think she will feel some for not helping him, but I'm sure Noor won't hold it against her. As for the Empire, I feel you are spot on there. The are either using hostages to make them to do what they want. Or small chance of some kind mind control/manipulation to get them to do what they want.
/kevinparker5906 Ya, that's indeed a thought I had as well. With only one small basic spell from each school, 10+ years at hand with nothing else to do than train what you have, because everyone told him, he was useless without even having him tested just once. Though, this concept only works in a world setting in which you are judged by skill type and skill count only. That aside, just look at his feather step skill he used in the match versus spear guy or how he wooshed with said skill towards the frog. That was some hard indication here, in my opinion. /coltonwilliams4153 I mean, she even looked down on this "country bumpkin" with much disdain when she first met him... Given her "godly skill" she also could have trained it as a blade, but she chose to train on the shield variant... I don't know, but if she feels "useless" now, standing there, full on concentration to keep that shield spawned, that's all the result of her decision. It doesn't show much of character to let it out on others who might be superior than oneself. Also, that demon kid, I am assuming there are more kids around the capital... The villager hostage situation seems like a feasable reasoning. Maybe it's even simpler: "work with us or our army burns down your homeland instantly".
First I swear why must he think it’s a frog. Secondly I quite liked this episode, so far besides noor i quite like Ines a lot, so it was nice to find out more about her and I wonder what the full connection will be between her foster father and probably I’d assume noor’s dad or maybe grandfather. Last I wonder what noor has figured out to do in this recent fight. Another good episode and I hope for more Ines stuff next week
What I think the connection is her foster father. I believe he is the top shield person around making him one of the Six Sovereigns. Which If I remember right are the main teachers of skills in the country. So when Noor was younger and went to each of the teachers, that's where they would have met. While he didn't learn the shield skill, he didn't give up either and kept trying for a few months. That's what I think impressed her master the most, his strong will not to give up.
Noor really needs to common sense lesson and learn what he is actually fighting that that Turkey is actaulyl a dragon. But he also ispires people like the Princess guard if he teams up with others and properly uses his skills then there would no stopping that party
@@AHBrandonReviews Especially since I'm sure a lot of it was self taught. If I remember right from the first episode, after he failed to learn any "higher" skills from the six different schools, he went back to his old home back in the mountains to train himself.
Whoever decide the episodes' titles need a raise 😂 That man will misunderstand every monster he fight for something else 🤣 No doubt he would one shot almost everything if he choose to attack instead of parry everything! Ines is becoming Noor' rival in some point because of how similar they role is 🤔 The political stuff with the Magic Kingdom' attack is hella interesting 👀
I wonder if Noor tried to fight instead of parrying he wud be able to so much damage cuz he is not using his skill? I'm assuming skills are OP in this world cuz they base everything on skills and a normal attack without using a skill may suck
I was thinking along the same lines as you. Like a normal person's attack without a skill is like 20-30 damage. With a skill though that shoots up to like 100-150 damage. Most people believing skills are the "be all, end all" type of thing would have a hard time excepting that anyone could be strong enough from just training without a skill. So poor Noor who doesn't have a lot of common sense as it is, just goes with the flow of what he knows from others as what is "normal".
But maybe that's the point? Fake it til you make it. Imagine your enemies are nerfed proportionally to your insignificant existence. Then maybe life can be just as fair as it should be. Everything else is just a matter of gacha-roll. Not everything is merit-based. There's always room for confounding variables like an F-rank parrying a dragon. Just pure heart. Pure courage.
Man the princes should really just tell him he confused the goblin king for a regular one and she just went with it. Other than that I really like the show I also wanna know why his self esteem is so low when the captain respects him so much? Also maybe Noor could be a jr so he is referring to his dad
