    Many years later I still cannot believe this attorney allowed his client to incriminate himself in such monumental fashion. The way Sandusky paused when talked about kids at one point in the interview gave me the impression he was getting sexually excited just thinking about past encounters.

    Let Sandusky talk for 2 minutes freely and you can hear more evidence that he is guilty of child molestation. Unbelievable.

      +Daniel Dougan What? You mean the same bob costas who talks about gun control during the sunday night football halftime show? Guess you love his figure skating coverage. Only costas can tell you about American society when you just want to watch a fucking game.

    • @danieldougan269
      @danieldougan269 8 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Yes, and I agree with him about gun control. Sometimes we have to look at what happens in the sports world in broader context.
      I'm sorry you want to turn off your brain while watching football. I don't.
      That sort of attitude is part of what helped Jerry Sandusky get away with his crimes.
      Bob is great at baseball play-by-play in particular.

    • @upinsmoke2897
      @upinsmoke2897 8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Daniel Dougan Bob Costas is complete garbage. He is too stupid to make 60 minutes so he forces it during football half-time.
      His Brazil coverage was a disgrace. He's never been a stones through away from a Hilton and he's lecturing about the poverty and corruption of a third world country when they are competing for international sports.

    • @pronkb000
      @pronkb000 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      What was he wrong about regarding Brazil, exactly?

    • @upinsmoke2897
      @upinsmoke2897 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      pronkb000
      He was not wrong about stating that Brazil's government is corrupt. It wasn't the time or place. He is also not an authority on these issues whether it be gun control, Redskins name, or third world policy. Taking his opinion as legitimate is a logical fallacy (appeal to celebrity). He's a sports journalist.

    @10:19 Costas' point is so true (just because Sandusky didn't go after EVERY kid doesn't place him in the clear). I would add that child molesters particularly are predators who learn how to "read" their victims, figuring out which ones can be controlled and manipulated and which ones will talk if touched. Sandusky simply knew what he could get away with--and I can't believe his lawyer doesn't know this, as well.

    In full detail I would like to know how Jerry treated his wife...

    • @r.williamcomm7693
      @r.williamcomm7693 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      His wife says that he treated her well and was a good father. Regardless of what happened, Sandusky has some mental conditions that made him awkward at times but excellent at knowing how a football field works & how to coach players. Notice how he responds. Most criminals would’ve denied everything but his brain has him responding in ways that sounds strange. The media convicted him and we all believed that a young grad student coach witnessed Sandusky raping a young child in the shower so all of us screamed for Sandusky’s death. You can look up the grand jury testimony yourself and the person who testified. Then look at what he actually said in 2001. None of the four men who were part of Penn State’s leadership would have ever covered up a child rape for any reason let alone to protect PSU. Someday this scandal will be a study in media ethics where mainstream media scrambled to be among those condemning because they had no fear of being sued. Seriously, you can find the truth about how the allegations were made & it’s scary how our media manipulated our trust. Regardless of guilt, Sandusky was convicted before he could ever get to trial.

      How do you feel about Joe's statue being taken down?

    • @r.williamcomm7693
      @r.williamcomm7693 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Win Rosie That’s a good question. In a perfect world people wouldn’t find one perceived flaw to make a big deal about a statue. But in that climate itje statue was going to constantly be a target for individuals & even groups who claimed that it caused them pain. Having lived near PSU & also in a state that once flew the Confederate flag over its state house where some saw it as symbol of history & others as hate, I felt that if it didn’t represent everyone that it shouldn’t be on Govt property. Same for the statue.
      Some day the Sandusky Scandal will be studied like other cases in history. They are going to find out that the facts alleged to the Paterno & the other 3 administrators was vastly different than the grand jury testimony. The grand jury investigators might have been well meaning but they prepared those who testified so they thought that they were helping the criminal justice system to take the next step in investigating potential criminal acts. They thought by explaining that they received info almost a decade earlier that only in hindsight when added to the currently available info could be used to investigate. But The person who actually gave them the information in 2001 was really worried about his own neck because he had allegedly sent pictures of his genitalia to a PSU student who was not his wife. He had great motivation to be perceived as very helpful and necessary to the investigation so suddenly he changed his story to say that he told those Paterno & the others that he witnessed a little boy being raped. Of course it made him look bad too & he tried to change his story again. But the media ran with that & suddenly grown men are supposed to have covered for an evil predator caught in the act. The supposed victim was almost 14 then, not a little boy, who later became a marine (Sandusky was at his wedding).
      There is no one among us who would see something like that and not call the police immediately nor have something like that reported to us when we were in a position of authority and not dial 911 immediately. That was the media hook that generated the outrage as well as clicks, views & ratings. But as long as a statue is a source of pain for ppl, even if only due to their perceptions, then taking it down was appropriate, especially when considering that there is undoubtedly students in that university population who at one time or another might have been sexually abused or assaulted. For them, seeing the statue of a man that they erroneously believed enabled another perpetrator may be truly painful.

    Classic case. He has long ago re-defined molestation as horseplay and any number of other innocent terms. The language has become more important than the morality, as it allows him to escape into a safe room in his head where he's always kind Jerry horseplaying with the kids. He is probably bewildered as to why (in his terms) people are being so accusatory.

    Sandusky says, "I'm innocent of the THOSE charges". the best question to follow up would have been, "Are you guilty of other charges not yet revealed?" I would love to hear that answer.

    • @ryancalhoun2910
      @ryancalhoun2910 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Saying the word "those" is another classic liar move. It's a further distancing word between himself and the charges, by choosing not to say "the charges" and instead say "those charges." It's like Bill Clinton's "I did not have sexual relations with that woman."

  • @mcjones853
    @mcjones853 5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

  • @abjuron
    @abjuron 13 ปีที่แล้ว

    The problem with these cases, is that most intelligent people follow current events. Most have seen this on the news in some context. That most likely gives the defending attorney cause to cry "prejudice" to these people being jurors. Thus, the jury pool is reduced to a majority of people who are more uninformed, more uneducated people. That's good for the defense.
    Another thought is that they may be playing at the "inadequate counsel" angle to get a guilty verdict overturned at the end.

    The coach had a separate locker room and shower, but insisted on using the players' shower. Not only that, he purposefully touched naked children in the shower. Sharing a communal shower is one thing if an individual maintains a respectful distance. Purposefully seeking contact, especially with young children, is creepy.

    I still try to understand Sandusky's response when he said, "I didn't go around seeking out every young person for sexual needs that I've helped. There were many that I didn't have...I hardly had any contact with that I've helped in many ways." To me, this was an admission of his guilt that he's had sexual relations with some of those kids while not with others, which is still a crime.

    You are correct, but also in university police protocol is an effort to "tone-down" enforcement to save the lives and careers of the students. Many of the shenanigans that go on in college could be seen as much more serious crimes in normal life. I know it sounds silly, but that's how it works. Sandusky of course is not a student, but still prone to shenanigans.

    Sandusky shot himself in the foot during the interview.
    Not doing the interview might not have saved him from jail, but might have made it a wee bit harder (3% harder) for prosecutors to try the case.

  • @altfactor
    @altfactor 12 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sandusky is now in jail, and will likely spend the rest of his life there.
    This is not the end of the prosecution: The cover-up will probably go all the way to Harrisburg and the Governor's office. It will come out that the current Governor and at least his two most recent predecessors will be charged with obstruction of justice and likely go to jail as well.

    Yes, he did. The University Police Department officers are FULL FLEDGED policemen and women. The head of the University Police Department is a FULL FLEDGED policeman/woman. They can shoot you and arrest you just like any city police officer. The main difference is their jurisdiction is the campus, but they are connected to the city police officers.
    They are not campus security guards like most people outside of Pennsylvania seem to think.

    one thing I will say is that showering with a kid like that would not be quite as weird as showering with some strange neighbor at your house. A locker room and after workouts and so forth is different.

I understand that a kid who gets brain damage for life might be worse off then a kid who gets molested, but it depends on the indivisual and the situation. The significant difference is that any person with average intelligence KNOWS the inherent physical risk in football, NOT the sexual risk of child molestation.

    Here in America it is innocent until proven guilty. Not the other way around. Just figured i would teach you so called "Americans" a small fact. Not saying i dont think he did it, but nobody has the right to judge without proof. And i havent seen shit.

    Are Catholic Priests Jewish too? Why tie religion to these awful acts? What happened is horrible and there's is no logic to what you are saying. I'm sorry if you were molested as a child and you have tremendous anger inside.
    Take care!

    @pistachio0891 Dan Patrick is a self important robot. I wonder what he sounds like in real life when he's not using his anchor man voice and pretending to care about things.

    As bad as Sandusky is, to use this interview in a "sweeps week" type tease is absolutely vile and despicable...Bob Costas is the lowest of the low, to use this to boost ratings and re-vitalize his pathetic career.

    Jerry has already been forgiven Jesus. He is forgiven for all of his sins.
