I'm about to have to do this to my 14 Road King...thx for the great info....and I'm changing both also...I went with Cycle electric parts they came highly recommended
Doesn't look like that hard of a job at all. I meant to say in the other video I need to get that chain stopper tool you got as i can see how useful it is. Good job again.
Looks like quite the job, good stuff Sean. 😁👍 Me, I help the dealers and their pro techs put their kids through college 😅 😂 but mainly because I'd be scratching my head wondering why I always would have a couple washers, 3 or 4 bolts, and a 1 or 2 nuts leftover after re-assembky 🤔😳😆🤣
Good job mate. Tackling mine now, a 14 Lowrider. Stuffed at the start so far by 3 rung screws on the Barnett clutch spring for goodness sake! Crap alloy screws. Just a question. Were you able to buy the gaskets as a set or do you buy them separately?
@@Ucmpigs yes, I didn’t understand why you would need to change the clip rings is all since you did not mess with the Bearing. Was kinda confused, I understand no harm just curious why they would even include them, thank you my friend, just came across your channel. Awesome content.
@@tennesseebound6597 thank you. Yeah, I spoke with the owner of the shop I purchased my parts from. He told me if the bearing was fine just to replace the seal. It had the new clips. Thanks for watching.
How good is drag specialties stators for harleys? Works it good? I'm about to buy a stator for my Dyna and I'd like to know how good the quality is. Regards.
Well, to be honest it was price for me. I’ve been running it for just about a year and appears to be working as it should. It was identical to the stock one.
For what? The primary cover fasteners I believe are LOCTITIE 243 medium and the clutch hub main shaft nut is LOCTITE 262 high strength. Check your shop manual.
Outstanding job, Sean!!! You know I was keeping a close eye 😂
Ha! Thanks Nore! Yeah, I edited out all the screw ups..lololol
You really made that look way to easy. Great job putting the video together. The right tools and a shop manaual make all the difference.
Thanks Jerry! I edited out all the bad stuff🤣🤣
Great video, very helpful thank you 👌🏻👌🏻
Thanks! And thanks for stopping by!

Good luck! It's a fairly easy job. Yeah, I've heard good things about them.
Who you gonna call?!! Stator Buster! I know who I'm called when I have issues. Great job, Sean!
Nore @GlidingOnTwos????? That's what I did. lol Thanks Eric!
SWEET!! 👍😎
Yeah Man!!!

Yeah man. Got it off Amazon for $8. It’s just hard plastic. I was thinking you could probably make one with a jig saw and some hardwood.

🤣nothing wrong with stimulating the economy. No left over parts this time!
Thank for the information. Where did u get the shop manual or could you make a video on the torque specs. Thank you
I have a .PDF a friend gave me. You can Google some also.
tell me more about the shaft extension 🤣
It’s ribbed…for your pleasure.

Thanks! Good luck! I did get a set however the Derby Cover gasket did not fit. I ended up getting a HD one from the dealer.
How did you get the starter removed without taking the oil pan out?
Not sure I’m following you. Oil pan is on bottom of bike. I had to remove the dip stick to wiggle it out. Just enough to remove the inner primary.
Sean were Bobby & Steve still @ Oceana Cycles when you picked up your stator?
I think that’s the guys name. Guy with pony tail?
@@Ucmpigs yup! That’s Bobby. They’re the “Phantom Works” guys! Remember that show?
Those bolts aren't short, those average size, good size bolts .. lol. Great video man
Bless your heart….🤣
Im confused, why didn’t you have to chance the snap ring circlips? Did you change the bearing?
@@tennesseebound6597 are you talking about the inner primary bearing? I replaced the clip rings. They come in the seal kit. The bearing was fine.

Nice work, I know who to call🤪🤪🤪
Thanks Rob! Pretty easy job. Worse part was removing all the stuff to get the primary off.
