    Great video! One question please.
    Was the wheels alignment necessary after this job?

      Hi there
      It was not necessary in this instance as the track rod end was not replaced. The strut to hub connection has no adjustments so it went back in with no need for an alignment.

    Great Video, is your motor the 2.2 HDI? Twin Turbo?

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      No this was the 2.2 single turbo, and i dont know if it worked too well on this 607 it was a bit of a slug haha, never remapped it as the old car was not in a great shape, i never felt it could handle what small amount of power it had never mind pushing it further.
      Had the 406 with the same engine remapped, was quicker than the V6 really nice car.

    Зачем сверлить отлив под лобовым стеклом?? Он снимается за минуту.

      It saves removing the windscreen cowling, ok it's not a massive job to remove the cowling but given the potential for the wiper arms or other parts to be seized it is just as handy to drill the holes and put a plastic cap in place of them, really that's how they should be.

    Lower ball joints on 607 are so much better than ones on 406 ... I was changing both sturut top bearings on my rusty 406 and it's a pain to separate them from the hub (they're connected to a hub as far as I remember, right?). Both bearings are defected, and need removal once again :((
    MONROE - crap. I'm switching to SASIC now.
    One more thing. Are the springs on 607 as loooong as the ones on 406? It was hard as hell to compress them with simple spring compressors.
    Great job as always!
    Cheers from Poland!

      I dont really think there is a big difference in both the 607 or 406 seem to be the same parts?
      Removing the lower balljoint requires a special socket, sometimes if your lucky it comes off while still on the car, sometimes ive had to put the hub assembly in a vice and heat up the area before removing the lower balljoint.
      Its not a part i think is particularly prone to wearing out on the 406, unlike the 407 which seems to enjoy new lower balljoints more frequently.

      Lower ball joint is a little bit different than one on 607.
      About 407 ... these balljoints are significantly more expensive comparing to 406 :(

      Peugeot used the same lower balljoint in 405, 406, 605 and 607 so there is no difference at all. Citroen used the same joint in XM, Xantia and C5. BX has a pretty similar design too, but apparently it's a different part.

      Let me corret myself. I was refering more to dismantling procedure than the part it self. Sorry for the confusion.

    Thank you. Great video
    Is it easy to change a front hub in 607? I have a bad thread on 3 bolts

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Did it on my 607 but as it was the daily driver at the time i needed it back on the road quickly so never made a video.
      However i did do a video on replacing the wheel bearing on a Citroen Xsara hatchback, the setup is very similar to how it is on a 607. And while im changing the bearing you get to the hub in the same way.
      Have a look at this video

    Hi, if my steering wheel always makes a sound whenever I turn it and the rpm will increase Everytime I turn my steering, is that a fault or is it common?

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      When you turn the wheel you are making the hydraulic power steering pump do some work, how much noise is being produced.

    • @boooshannon
      @boooshannon 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      peugeotCitroen2CV there’s always a squeaky sound coming from the steering. Plus the rpm fluctuates

      Not too sure post a video up of it, very hard to determine what it is without inspecting the car

      Peugeot 607s have bad depreciation same as the Alfa Romeo 166 but they are a good car though

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      The depreciation is shocking on these, although thats the advantage of big french luxobarges they are expensive when new but wait a while and they can be picked up very cheaply. Im just waiting now for the Citroen C6 to follow suit.

      peugeotCitroen2CV I prefer the Alfa Romeo 166 due it's styling

    • @peugeotCitroen2CV
      @peugeotCitroen2CV  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      In that regard i wouldn't blame you haha. The 607 is no looker, its a shame because i think the 605 looked fantastic sharing the general look of the 405 just bigger, the 607 would have worked if it followed on the styling cues of the 406, but they went for a blown up 206. The only good thing is that you don't have to look at the outside while driving.
