Finishing Malazan this month was the biggest achievement I've had in my reading journey so far. We talked a little about how I felt about it so there's not much more to say, but to keep it short: The ending was the most beautiful and perfect thing I think I've ever read and it would be very hard for something to impact me that much again. WHAT A JOURNEY!!!. Anyhue, in my Malazan grieving I've decided to read something a little more simple and singular before I tackle my next series, so I decided on Lonesome Dove as a pallette cleanser. It's pretty great so far, but I'm early in the story so not much has happened yet. The character work so far really is as good as they say, however. As a side note, have you ever looked into the Second Apocalypse series by R. Scott Bakker? I plan on reading that next but I'm kind of intimidated by how dark and bleak it can supposedly get and after the bittersweet conclusion of Malazan I don't think I'm ready just yet to lose my faith in humanity again😂 I've heard great things about it though and it's the only other series I have found people comparing to Malazan online. I look forward to it, but I need to get over my Malazan hangover before I tackle Second Apocalypse, haha.
If you like older crime then you should DEFINITELY read more Andrew Klavan. Among his many excellent crime novels the next one I’d probably recommend is Dynamite Road. It’s extremely hard boiled, has fantastic action and I think you’ll really dig it.

My reading is slower in summer, because my kids are out of school. 😂

I totally read more in the fall/winter. But there is apart of me that thinks summer is the ‘perfect’ time to read 🤷🏻♀️ lol
Exactly my thoughts!
Mordew!!! Read Mordew. It’s fantasy. It’s Gothic. It’s not too long. You’ll love it
They should rebrand the self help genre to help your self…
Oh you might have read already but I just finished the fear and loathing in Las Vegas and it was a lot of fun would recommend
