      @@Robert_BabiczRobert, have you used the RNDI or the Radial JDI? What's your opinion on passive vs active di for synths?

      @@ZenMountain i use mainly active optionss

    The gap of silence interferes with/upsets the ability to A/B. Switch must be without interruption in continuous, level-matched sound, giving ears no moment to reset.

    I use a Neve portico 5017 live and home studio just love it!

    RNDI S is great for reamping a mix bus too.

      That s interesting, how exactly do you use it?

    I don't know if i can hear any difference in the A/B in my studio, probably youTube compression kills definition.

    • @RapidFlow_Shop
      @RapidFlow_Shop  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the compression does make it harder to hear. The segment with the drum computer is more easy to hear IMO

    Can you share the uncompressed audio files please? The synth parts are also really hard to compare due to the gap between them playing. It might be easier to record the audio in first and have them automatically switch on the arrangement timeline, or don't but automate the channel volumes to make the switch.

    So you sent the di into patchbay and patched synths from there right???

    • @RapidFlow_Shop
      @RapidFlow_Shop  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Normally that s how I have it setup but in this case I patched rhe synths straight into the DI

    how do you feel about transformer saturation plugins like Karzog True Iron? AFAIK the Neve transformers basically add 2nd and 3rd order harmonics that result in a "thicker" sound - unless there's lots of nonlinearity going on it should be easy with DSP

    • @RapidFlow_Shop

      I ve tried so many plugins and while many sound great the hardware still has an advantage... this is why I was interested in the RND DI as it is a way to get transformer sound without spending thousands...

    Thank you for this! What tape machine are you using?

    Also try the Radial Passive DI's with Jensen transformer and followed with some preamp(s) to get more gain, and then compare this to this RND Active DI, then report back ;-) I would assume both should be great and different

      Have heard good things about the Radial boxes but time is always the enemy... happy with what the RND Di is delivering so just using that
