A video for a great song that deserved a video. The I'm Gonna Follow You footage seemed to work alright. This is just a fan made video, made for enjoyment for Pat Benatar fans.

With all the rage of disco filling the radio stations at the time -Along comes this little known lady with a huge talent and i bought this debut album by chance and found it was worth every penny ..every song was great -few albums can rank to that level as far as im concerned --and this cut ....well, i used to lay on the floor between the tower speakers ,closing my eyes and...W O W ! surreal ...her voice just went thru me ... thanks for posting this classic ...
The leads from Neil are epic, just mesmerizing and full of so much emotion that matches the vocals emanated from Pat. The first album grabbed me like few others ever have. Just a great album, and fantastic song.
I still think Pats first 'album' is her best. Pat and her band just starting out so they are raw and hungry and she sings the songs with such passion. Too bad they didn't make a video for this song. It would have been a great one but you picked a suitable video for the song. Thanks for the post.

Pat made amazing verions with Mike Chapman Produced her Album, ´ there were 3 songs from Him and Nicky, Sweet´s No you don´t , Smokies : If you thing you know how to love me, and the Titlesong In the Heat of the night.. She also covered Nick Gilderes : Rated X. real Great album.
Haunting is a very good way to describe this song. My first wife Hazelnut was just 18 and out of Catholic School when we ran off to Vegas and got married. She had this album on Eight Track and I carried the songs in my heart when the Army sent me to Korea and it ended our marrage. Still lovet this one and "So If You Think You Know How To Love Me". bilbo2shire
I remember hearing Rated X played on a College Radio station when this was released. I decided I had to by this Album from the Record Store. Great purchase, I became a Benatar Junkie during the 80's !
A masterpiece from a time when music was still innovative and respectable. I remember being in the 5th grade and hearing Benatar for the first time! She single-handedly shattered the disco ball and placed guitar driven Rock back on the charts! All Hail the Queen!!
Benatar is amazing, but the idea that one's own generation is when things were "innovative and respectable," implying anything past that is crap, is unnecessary.
I love this old rock style...sort of post-boring progressive rock of mid 70's & pre-MTV slick of mid 80's. Like Journey, Foreigner, John Mellencamp, Blondie, etc. This is a great song and she sings like nobody else. So much raw power in her voice.
& she's still rockin it! Looking forward to seeing her play in August (state fair). Cheapest ticket $81...My ticket taken away as punishment (something lame im sure) in my teen years $13.!

Much respect for Kate Bush creating this song. She has a very different singing style and I appreciate it. But Pat's cover o. It was tge furst I ever heard when I first listened to her Crimes of passion album. In my opinion, it's the best. Her pitches are not tge Sam as Kate's, but her edgy voice and music really drive in the emotion that coincides with the whole story behind the song. I do not, for the life, comprehend why she took so long to ever perform it live, unless it was in respect to the original artist. I mean no disrespect to Kste. She has an amazing voice and such a way with words in her music. They are just 2 very different singers and artists and both I credibly gifted and skilled

Though I totally understand your point. Give the other mad ass awesome vocalists they're due. Ann Wilson comes to mind as does the totally underrated Patty Smyth.. What incredible voices.
