I love trams both in game and in real life. First time i rode one in Prague I fell in love with it! Happy to see that trams are making huge comeback across the world! 🚃🚈🚉🚊
I spent hours trying to build roads next to tram lines and have them look like they were part of the road, the upgrade feature never crossed my mind. I like the look of what i ended up with, but corners were a big challenge
Something's horribly wrong with my trams. When I add a stop to a double track or upgraded small road, the tracks change from straight ahead to a kind of criss-cross; then when a tram actually goes around its loop, on about half the stops the tram will do weird track switches, going back and forth, instead of going dead ahead. I'm losing my mind if I don't make them one-way tracks.
Oh noes. Not sure what is going on there. My fix for these kinds of problems is just starting over and laying new track and stops. Not fun, but sometimes the only way :(
Agree with the underground building needs some help. Its so frustrating to use most of the time, lol. + They did add an 'underground' view but in reality, its just a 'toggle'. I wanted to have a first person view of the underground metro/stations
I've got a combo of trams and subways in my city right now. However I find that it's really difficult to manage them as I overlapped many lines before I knew what I was doing. The default configuration for the trams sucks if you want multiple lines, as anymore than 2 lines will run you out of trains. You can color code the lines, though if you already placed them fixing your mistake is a royal pain. I really hope we get a transportation overhaul mod that fixes the issues of the current game, or an update comes that overhauls the current system. My biggest gripe is that you can't make a line as you place stops. Like let me do it all at once so I don't have to remember where I'm putting each stop after I've placed them. And if you put one on the wrong side the road, forget it. One thing that I found works far to well is placing a pedestrian street, with one way streets on each side. Let's you run your tram tracks through the middle without them interfering with traffic. It's very jank but you can place crosswalks using paths, and then remove the paths leaving just the crosswalk along the road so people can cross. It's also possible to get traffic lights using train tracks though they are very glitchy and not worth the effort.
We used to just have numbers next to each stop to tell us how many people were there, why overcomplicate it by needing to hover, just seems pointlessly extra.
Great Review! i'd like to see a tutorial on how to use the international airport! that thing is huge and i have no clue how to make it effecient enough
Guide needs explanation on road options. Especially for divider roads. If u place tram on a divider and then a stop on divider, there must be cross walks( so stop light and cross walk) on both ends of a stop for people to actually use tram stop other wise its just in middle of the road.
@dracsfantastic same, i dont like cross walks as it slows down the traffic but they are essential for divider roads. If for some reason it doesnt allow to place cross walk then place crosswalk tool over multiple road sections, later u can remove unwanted ones.
Haven't played city skylines one and not bought the DLC for getting a tram.. I would have a district have a donut shape and have business only on my bus route, then housing, then a park at the center of the donut. Reseached it and by my math i could use 4 tiles for a tram loop vs 4 bus loops for each grid. Im waiting until new years to buy a PS5 to play it in the off chance someone is really nice but not expected.
Trams are OP. If you are not running trams in City Skylines 2 you are missing out. :)

@@UncleSamFreedom We have street cars in New Orleans. They're kind of like a tram. ☺

I had the same happen to me. I had a friend say, upgrade Dracs! Hope I helped
1:40 You can also click on the circle with the tram icon using the bulldoze tool to remove the stop. It gives a much larger target
thank you!!

Yes, the unground view is not great :(
@@dracsfantastic I hope they can improve on it
The replace tool is such a game changer, i didn't know about it
It is nice

Thanks for the comment! I like the pedestrian street with one way roads.
perfect tutorial. thank you!
Thanks!

The numbers were nice. :)

Hopefully in the coming patches they will rework crosswalks. Add it to the list City Skylines @@TheRealNaika
I am not getting the tram rout to fully loop for some reason.
Make sure it is looped back around on the street. Sometimes I miss a section or two :)
@@dracsfantastic makes sense
How do you finish off a tram line cause I accidentally restarted mine?
You need to make sure it loops back around. Sometimes when restarting, you miss a connection. Oh, also, is it connecting to the tram station?
How to build tram line through roundabout? Seems that I can’t do it in my game
Nothing can be built through the round about :(
@@dracsfantastic that’s so sad, I have to destroy the roundabout so that I can place the tramline through it :(
I dig the trams!!
Like you use them as subway? That sounds interesting

This is about City Skylines 2. Trams don't require DLC.
So, no one is going to talk about the different color tracks on the road service? How did that happen?
Not sure exactly what you mean? Is this a change from CS1?
@dracsfantastic I didn't know how to do the bus lanes, but I figured it out. I didn't know you could add the different color
Is the game out yet?
Yep. Available now.
