MichaelBurko: In reply to your question, there is currently no way to selectively turn on or off the types of objects it will notify you of as a warning but you can lower the volume which will deal with all verbal notifications.

I got my NV2 a few days ago. My version doesn't have a card slot on the back. So it looks like there possibly won't be any firmware updates in the future. I noticed two symbols at the upper right corner of the screen at 16:49 min. They are not mentioned in the manual. Could you tell me what they mean, please? The one on the right looks like symbol for WiFI...
wifi model so far only available on china models. the Internationals they did not include the module. As for SD card slow i have to ask them on monday. Even i thought that all model will have SD slot. Keep an eye on my discord i will announce if i get some info on how to update those models.

Do you have a manual for how to use WiFi and what you can do with it? When the volume is completely up and I press the volume up button a few times more I get a message on the screen including chinese letters and the word "WiFi". So maybe my model has the module build in.

It would be great if a magnetic mount, go pro mount, or vehicle specific hood mount would be easily available for a clean and solid temporary installation. [LATER] There are many ways to place this on the hood via a magnetic mount, the double sided 3M tape and a Go Pro styled attachment. Unfortunately it has to be a simple DIY project as Infiray doesn't currently provide for this option and only provides for the license plate mount which, in my opinion, sits too low to the ground, thus sacrificing some of the distance and viewing capability of the camera. A magnetic mount (needs the area in question to have iron in the metal) can be placed higher (on the hood for example) and, for security, easily taken off and back on when needed. InfiRay should notice this need as a related item saleable and sell some mounting choices.
Heating element is for preventing fogging of the lens. Automotive thermals need a replaceable lens or you will need to clean it every day with distilled water as germanium lens can have pitting from environment over time, also could be cracked by pebbles. 256x192 resolution is poor, 384x288 should be minimum. Also the fps of the camera is important, 25fps is not bad but still you will see lag. So far nothing beats the flir adk, but the adk is not a plug and play device and is for pedestrian detection development.
If a deer was off to the side of the road and not moving but just looking at my oncoming vehicle I realize that the image would be boxed on the display but, if the deer wasn't moving would it recognize it as a hazard? How about if the deer was the only source of extra, standing out from the background, heat? If there'd be no warning in those conditions it can miss giving the driver a verbal cue and that is what a driver depends on, especially while driving on lonely interstate or state roads at night.
The AI recognising the deer fror its shape and heat emission. Especially if you drive on an lonely road less interference. more easy ro recognise shapes and heat signatures.

Very cool! I think it would would be popular if they made a USB box version that integrated with all the chinese android-based car head units so you could have it permanently installed on a larger screen inside the dashboard.
It is almost perfect. Two issues though. 40degrees is a bit much. I would say 30degrees fov would be better. Why? You can usually see what is close and it is more important to see further in a distance. At about 100m the details are just few pixels. And that is a stopping distance in bad conditions. And one more note: It would be killer device if it would recognize wild animals. The better recognition in the grass/bushes the better. I would say that with those two features and a bit better mounting option (Camera on a magnet on a roof and the unit somewhere on a dashboard) this device would be a block buster. It would sell among truckers like hot buns!

And also spamming the plus volume button it gets a notification on the screen Wifi success (success in chinese) but no wifi signal appears, infiray also answered this by, it does not have wifi, so that is probably a forgotten code from the prototype 😅. I am eager to open it and hack to find some video storage option but i don't want to destroy anything or void the warranty, yet.

The big issue I see with this is that it will adapt your eyesight to daylight brightness, thus further increasing your night blindness. Even though the imagery is impressive it is not useful until the display uses a night mode that does not deteriorate your night sight.
Yes, I hope they include an option to adjust the brightness in the next firmware update. It seems that the only feature currently available is a lens warmer, but there's no way to adjust the notification settings or brightness.
I will be purchasing a unit in a few months or so. If they don't have an update for brightness I will buy a computer screen darkening screen and trim it to the size of the screen 👍🏻
Hey I can definitely see myself getting at least of these NV2 and also either the P2 or T2. Only problem is all the aliExp links show up as 'Not found'. Having spent a lot with aliExp in the past, I assume this is due to the linked products not offering shipping to Australia. And I'm really unsure as to why that is, seems strange to impose arbitrary restrictions like that. Is this just an oversight perhaps? Please let me know.
