    The 'tree house" is well-located and spacious, fitted out like a Charles Munroe classic. But $5,400 is awfully steep for a one-bedroom, even with a loft! Same for the second one. I'm not fond of the black bathroom tile in the third unit, but I do like the room size. Per person the price is better. The fourth one is the most interesting and is a better deal, though it's only 1.5 baths, not 2. (Cash has trouble with numbers over 1.) The last apartment has tiny bedrooms!

    Hi Cash and Charlie you two are the best realtors I have ever seen. You two are honest, have a great personality, and not intimidating like a few awful realtors I have met in SoCal. I have one great realtor for my future downsizing. Still living in my late parents home. Like the vintage apartments tour. I like upgrade too. Even if it’s sketch I like how it has a great view of NYC and lots of great storage. Nice for a small studio apartment. Stay well and safe 👍😎

    1:22 I"m 5'8. :D 5:01 that was great charles lol. hoping you have a honey that cooks for you! ^_^ In my 20's, I worked for an investment firm, but on the blue collar side lol.. I took responsibility for apartment care, after people moved out. One thing they did, that made them unique, in my area, was their brand new toilet seats. Every place got a new one, and they were ALWAYS decorative. Some wood grained and serious, nice ones, but some were fun, with happy faces or cartoon faces on it. Anyway.. it's a nice feature.. when landlords do things like that. *connect*

  • @sinash
    @sinash ปีที่แล้ว +12

    Hmm... no. Charles did not fail. I just did not like the apartments given the asking price on each. Those unusable loft areas are wasted space, IMHO. Then there were the "after-thought" kitchens in two of them. That cellar space was a definite no. The only thing I liked in a few of them was the wood flooring--especially in the 3rd apartment. OH! I liked the fact that they all had elevators. Other than that, I am unmoved and would keep looking. I enjoyed the background music of today's video, though.

  • @MamaCarola1
    @MamaCarola1 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Charles has shown us a few apartments in the 1st building b4. The thing that's changed is that the loft areas now have railings around them that look really sturd. They're not really functional tho IMHO. Trying to carry boxes or suitcases up & down the ladder is just a freefall accident waiting to happen. At least heat is included but cooling worth that high ceiling will set you back a pretty penny. I prefer the 2nd kitchen to the 1st mainly bcuz it's in a separate room. But appliances are still basic & no sink sprayers! For the prices I would want in-unit laundry. The 3rd place wasn't bad. By the time i got to the 4th & 5th tho i think i was done even tho prices were technically better. At least the 1 had a real staircase leading downstairs but it was too dungeon-like for me

      @MamaCarola1 ปีที่แล้ว

    • @sinash
      @sinash ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@MamaCarola1 Was that a repeat showing? Hmm... now that's interesting. Maybe... just maybe... the greed of Landlord's is beginning to catch up to them? These prices have gotten out of control. Basically, they want $2K/month for a room in Manhattan proper? Insane! I've posted this before, but I'd consider the option of long-term hotel stays (as a means to save money) rather than paying this current extortionist pricing. With a hotel one at least has heat, A/C, bathroom, internet, and even housecleaning services!

    • @MamaCarola1
      @MamaCarola1 ปีที่แล้ว

      @sinash in Bushwick & over $8K. Don't remember who the agent was last time but Dominick showed it this time so you know you're getting quirky but this was just trippy

    • @sinash
      @sinash ปีที่แล้ว

      @@MamaCarola1 I recall a large space such as that being shown at one point, and I liked it. At the time it was like $7K/month. So, if it's the same spot the Landlord has increased it by $1K/month. It's a large space and a lot can be done with it--if one has the money. But the fact that it still has not been rented in a year's time is "telling" to me. People are not moving out of this area because of crime or whatever else. It's because it is simply becoming unaffordable. Imagine writing a rent check for nearly $6K/month for some of these places? Landlords would rather keep these spaces empty than rent them because they have lobbied and attained significant tax advantages. Do you realize how much vacant space is open and available just in Manhattan proper alone?

    This takes Real Estate hyperbole to another level. When nothing is real good emphasize the average. Every step of this tour increased the real estate speak.

    God bless New Yorkers..got to live in those tiny apartments with no views, and have to spend a fortune. Where I live you could get a fat house with lake views for 5k.

    A variety of apts where a renter can be claustrophobic, acrophobic & scopophobic (fear of being watched) all at the same time. Win-win-win! All with a patina of graffiti & a stretched monthly checking account. Win-win-win-win-win!

    Lol, using that loft as a room where you can't even get upright in , have to crawl around or be a very small person, and 1 bedroom all for the low price of $5400, with a view of traffic. You know you have lived in a concrete jungle too long when that sounds appealing.
