  • So I purchased this set of late 1800’s David Glen bagpipes with a vintage P Henderson chanter at the Creeper Gallery in New Hope, a little shop selling various antiques and oddities, some of which are alleged to be haunted. They had come in possession of the pipes and a goose set from an old woman who was getting rid of her deceased husband’s things. The bagpipes were apparently used in the reenactment of the Battle of Culloden hosted by the Gaelic Society of Scotland in 1925. During the ceremony, the spirit of a warrior named Hamish apparently entered the pipes and never left. They also allege that the “green pipes” (goose) are Irish but I know that to be false as “P Henderson” is engraved on that chanter as well. Got em for $400 and the one set alone is probably worth 10x that! Gonna get these babies up and running and see what kinda noise I can get out of them once they’re set with a proper bag. Stay tuned.
