Whst a great window into the Golden Age of Saturday Night on One. This edition went out at 5:20 and was followed by a compilation repeat - at 5:50 - of Dr Who’s Pyramids of Mars, which achieved a figure of 13.7 million viewers. Those were indeed the days! 😁
Thanks for uploading this. I loved this show as a kid and its still funny today. Have you got more of these ? I had that boxing game shown at the beginning. Kenner, I think it was. The other figure was a black boxer based on Ali, I think.
I have a vague recollection of this show. It was on Saturday early evenings, straight after Grandstand as I recall, and Doctor Who would follow. I thought the 'Bulldog Basil' song that each episode ended on was something I had dreamed up but obviously not looking at this. Roy North is now in 83 but still with us. I don't think these have been released on any media and not shown since the 1970s so where did you get this from?
I just want to say be careful uploading Basil Brush, my previous channel got removed for uploading them. The Beeb don't like it if you upload these and I wouldn't want you to lose your channel because of them.
Fantastic finale! Some great improvisation with the mice from Mr Dennis and (especially) Basil's ..er..spirit guide! Ace!!
Ahh, the unique genius that was Basil Brush. We’ll not see his like again.
Dennis and Basil. When gingers ruled.
Gingers are always good!
What a voice Dennis waterman had he was destined for big things and became an actor he could have easily been a rock star

More will be uploaded over the next few weeks rest assured
Fantastic, brought back so many happy childhood memories. ❤️
Amazing 😍
I used to have a Basil the Brush cuddly toy, it was terrifying. Up there with Hartley the Hare as a symbol of the macabre.
😂
Hartley and Hamble from Play School....nightmares!
👍💥magic 🦊
It amuses me to see complaints about Basil's 'juvenile humour'. It was intentional. It was a kids' show!
He's pretty quick and intelligent for kids level..
😊👍🏻
Ah TV shows when we had TV shows.

Roy North was the best foil for Basil!
Note to Mr Dennis: More cowbell.

Ooops ok. I better stick to buggering then.
People will complain I find nothing bad or wrong with this show if this shows wrong then 99% of the shows today should be taken off the air then
I am a man in my 50's who grow with this in Australia, while I do not find it has funny as I used to this is still better than the tv we get today
