In life both personally and professionally everyone learns from their mistakes….. PGMOLs issue is they don’t make mistakes and therefore are incapable of learning. Simple really
Don’t usually comment on Mark’s vids but he is spot on here. Yes the abuse is unacceptable, but the issue is the lack of respect and accountability for referees, because they are so incompetent. Rugby, Cricket, Hockey officials are professional and competent, and are therefore respected. They sometimes make mistakes yes, but when they do they own them and it’s investigated, and the service is improved. The “boys club” of football refereeing in this country needs to end. And like Mark says, that will help with respect for referees at all levels.

Referees are the reason I can't watch football now , so bad and frustrating
People have reached their limit with what's going on and the frustrations are boiling over...things are going to get worse unless things are resolved and accountability is taken
It's the same with politicians, if you keep doing your job horrifically badly but with absolutely no accountability whatsoever then people are going to get ANGRY, very angry! It's not right of course, but you can understand how it happens when the PGMOL do nothing to change for the better.
100 agree with you Mark. The problem is that it is a constant roadabout, bad desicion, football community uproar, PGMOL defends it, move on and then repeat. There is zero accountabilty and at the moment the PGMOL and their referees are untouchable and can't do wrong.
They can't allow that in England. Corruption is too much
In life both personally and professionally everyone learns from their mistakes….. PGMOLs issue is they don’t make mistakes and therefore are incapable of learning. Simple really
Nice way to put it tbh
Don’t usually comment on Mark’s vids but he is spot on here. Yes the abuse is unacceptable, but the issue is the lack of respect and accountability for referees, because they are so incompetent. Rugby, Cricket, Hockey officials are professional and competent, and are therefore respected. They sometimes make mistakes yes, but when they do they own them and it’s investigated, and the service is improved. The “boys club” of football refereeing in this country needs to end. And like Mark says, that will help with respect for referees at all levels.
Good work and well presented.
Well done for calling out the unprofessional, mates brigade, protection racket in British refereeing, Mark
Goldbridge is one of the few Football podcasters who is unbiased when it comes to calling out referee BS regardless of the team. Quite objective in his analysis. ❤ Respect
Arsenal could have been level right now had it not been for Trossard and Rice red cards, so absolutely title has been cost as a result of bad calls
PGMOL is the most inconsistent company founded. Based
Very consistent against Arsenal. We were waiting for him to make a game changing decision and he didn’t disappoint.
Not enough is being made of the worst decision of the weekend, the fella booked for impersonating a seagull
EXACTLY!! Two entirely separate issues. PGMOL totally deflecting ...
Well said Mark
Nothing is going to happen as simple as that.
Pgmol have done this to themselves, poor standards, no accountability, acting like a dictators, now crying because there being called out. Childish and unprofessional. What do they expect?
The PGMOL and the media will and most likely are using online criticism and trolling as a smoke screen to avoid dealing with the game ruining issues. It's a disgrace.
The thing over and over again.
A decision by a referee which costs a club 3 points or even 1 adds up at the end of the season. Play bad and lose fairly but play fairly and lose through a bad decision of VAR or a referee is unacceptable.
Every point matters just as much as fair decisions.
Investigate the PGMOL and the Michael Olivers of this world.
Threats aside. Michael Oliver made an egregious mistake. VAR failed to do their job and correct it. The PGMOL now fails to recognize either of the mistakes. This is a crisis for the premier league. I think heads should roll.
Definitely need a body to overlook standards of refs in premier league and bring it to higher standard, and what is the best standard needed in VAR room. What is the best in class and not what we got now.
You made very good points.
European Refs are on another level compared to the Premier League
This is what happens when there is no accountability with refs.
It’s getting ridiculous lol you’ve said it perfectly I totally agree w your plan, completely independent entities
Preach brother
What you just said are all correct..
I'm with Goldbridge on this
There needs to independent people on VAR and take away the mates factor between referees and VAR
You couldve picked any armchair fan at home (probably even a wolves one) and put them on VAR and they would do a better job...whoever was on VAR totally failed to do their job
Deflection tactics 1-O-1
Now the insults have become the issue....instead of the "glaring error and bad decision" that caused the insult.
The toffs have weaponised this tactic.
Spot on i think
Now the focus point for all the media houses would be the police investigation rather than referees. Those gimps who send online threats are part of the problem too.
