Has anyone ever wondered why so-called "Afrocentric" scholars (not only black people but also notable white academics) never claim that the other members of the Ptolemaic dynasty before Cleopatra nor that every single Egyptian dynasty up to the time of the Ptolemy was black? That is because they are not just structuring their arguments on some feel-good notion of racial superiority but on written evidence. In his Histories, Herodotus states in several passages that the Egyptians were black. According to most translations, Herodotus says that a Greek oracle was known to be from Egypt because she was "black", that the natives of the Nile region are "black with heat", and that Egyptians were "black-skinned with woolly hair". Lucian of Samosata (125 AD - after 180 AD) observes an Egyptian boy and notices that he is not merely black, but has thick lips. Diodorus Siculus mentioned that the Aethiopians (read sub-Saharan Africa) considered the Egyptians a colony. Apollodorus of Damascus (a Syrian-Greek engineer, architect, designer and sculptor from Damascus, Roman Syria, who flourished during the 2nd century AD), calls Egypt the country of the black-footed ones (or “Aethiopians”). Aeschylus (c. 525/524 - c. 456/455 BC), a Greek poet, wrote that Egyptian seamen had "black limbs." This alone would have been enough to perpetuate the “white-Egyptian theory”, however, Aristotle did not! He said the opposite. Strabo Ammianus Marcellinus (325/330-after 391) after his own observation stated that the Egyptians were "mostly brown and black" (like black people). Imagine if Marcellinus had said “mostly pink and tanned” (like whites). This alone would have been enough to perpetuate the “white-Egyptian theory”, however, Marcellinus did not! Marcus Manilius described the Egyptians as lighter than the Moors: "the land of Egypt, flooded by the Nile, darkens bodies more mildly owing to the inundation of its fields." This film was a BIG step. Hollywood finally put Greek mythology to the side and jumped onto Egyptian mythology. The gods of Horus and Set DID NOT live up to their names. And what pissed me off the most: the cast was mostly white when ancient Egyptians have a darker/tanned complexion which really bothered me. And I've seen Gerard Butler in BETTER films than this one (the Greek film 300). They also should have read the myths more and look deeper into what they represent instead of Set trying to take over the world. As for Apophis, he's supposed to be a snake in the celestial river of Duat. Instead he's a dark cloud of almost nothingness in outer space...? What the hell...? As for the love story, they shouldn't have put that in there; it was a waste of time. CGI was pretty good though and the designs of the gods was spectacular. But overall, Hollywood should've read the myths more and did a better storyline than the typical 'save girl from death' cliche... *facepalm*
1997 movie Legend of the Lost Tomb is my favorite movie set in Egypt, because it uses actual ancient Egyptian mythology to set up a modern action fantasy with 2 modern kids. It's a bit cheesy, but it does feature a few Egyptian actors, including an Egyptian playing Ramases II and Zahi Hawass (the director of antiquities) as himself. Gods of Egypt was a VERY lame attempt at portraying The Contention of Horus and Set. They got a LOT of things wrong-Horus was not born yet when his father was murdered, there was no thief involved, and there was a question as to who would get the throne. The whole fight had nothing to do with vengeance, it was Horus trying to prove to the other gods that he was strong enough to rule. Depending on which version you go with, at one point either Set assaults Horus or they both seduce each other.
AudrinaMystique yeah man it's like the director/ writers never read/ even look up Egyptian mythology. The entire movie I was like "what the hell is this" and don't even get me started on the whole thing with Seth not having any kids. I was face palming entirely through this movie.
Todays scientific investigation g=has also stated that it is hard to pin point the skin color. However, it is believe that it wasn't a very light skin, nor too dark. It has been argued that ancient Egypt was something of an ancient melting pot-something that even extended to its monarchy. In 1881, the mummy of Ramesses II (an Egyptian pharaoh who ruled around 1279-1213 BC) was discovered. Nearly a century later, in 1974, archaeologists in Paris forensically examined the mummy. Their analysis indicated that he had red hair, a trait never found in sub-Saharan Africa. (Because Ramesses II was in his early nineties when he died, his white hair had been dyed red with henna, but microscopic analysis confirmed he was originally a redhead.) Because Ramesses was known to have been of Libyan descent, historians have speculated that he probably had relatively light skin, especially since ruling Egypt probably didn’t require him to go out in the sun much.
Guys... this is actually apart of egyptian lore... and did you know The Lion King was a remake of Hamlet? :| Nothing is completely original. The only thing original is the stories made by the old humans long ago. Like with greek mythology and what not.
Apparently though the Egyptian Mythology is poorly represented (according to recent views on it). Which I don't see as a really big deal as it's trying to be a big fantasy epic. Look at what Marvel has done with Thor. Odin himself says "We are not gods. We're born, we live, we die...just as the humans do." Now if the intent was to accurately represent Egyptian Idols, then yeah this is an EPIC failure.
+Archangel Otaku Yeah I totally agree with you there. But I know they made some of it a little bit accurate by what i've heard. Like with the whole Horrus losing his eye thing. I haven't seen the movie yet so I should probably wait to form my own opinions.
so just saw it, knowing it would be shit (trailers are surprisingly accurate) and kinda enjoyed it. basically it 's Jupiter ascending but goes down the corny/cheesy route instead of serious(and there's no eddie redmayne level character) and much more enjoyable because of it. also the cgi was decent for the most part though it was so overused edit: if you "enjoy" movie like batman and robin then this is a good choice
Honestly, the best movie that is based in Egypt (for me, anyways) is The Prince of Egypt. Such jaw-dropping animation; inspiring music; well-developed and relatable characters; and an incredible story. Gods of Egypt is a disgrace to the Egyptian genre. And a disgrace to movies in general. I was also hoping to get something entertaining out of the film, but alas, it failed to even do that.
+Claudia Garcia Gotta agree with Prince of Egypt. Soundtrack alone is epic and it's composed by none other than Hans Zimmer. How could you make a song out of the names of gods of Egypt? Just brilliant.
I know, right? I have the album, and I honestly cannot stop listening to it! I use it to help me study. :) That man is probably one of the best film composers, without a doubt. He can make a not-so-great movie sound incredibly epic.
Claudia Garcia Yes! I'm a huge Ghibli fan, as well as Disney. I love Dreamworks, too, but their movies aren't as memorable as some. They're all good, but I just have a few favourites. The Prince of Egypt is definitely my favourite Dreamworks movie :-)
Seriously Hollywood won't learn from this. They spam CGI for many years in their movies and don't care about it. It isn't anymore to make something special/unique. That's just how lazy the business has become. It's all about earning easy money with a movie. CGI is fast and easy and together with a mediocre plot it's the perfect combo.
+Alex Ramirez yeah true. But I just want that they just took their time to make great movies except with a longer period of time. That's why most older movies are considered masterpieces.
Landon Legate True but I already said that 'most' of the movies. Ofcourse there were bad movies in the old times but the amount of bad movies in modern time outnumber the amount of old bad movies by a long shot! Because both Superman 4 and Batman and robin earned a lot at the box office. So as long as it makes money Hollywood doesn't care. They've done this from the beginning because its a business ofcourse but I can see that they are desperately running out of ideas and I'm not the only one.
My favourite movies set in Egypt: The first 2 Mummy movies. Ok these are sort of guilty pleasures but they truly gave the sense of adventure when i watched it and there aren't really many great Egyptian-themed movies to choose from.
The first time I saw the trailer for this movie, I thought that it was fancy video game for the vast majority of it. At the end, I was "Oh, it's a movie???? Wow, it looks terrible. Plus, why are they super-super white? Also, it looks terrible. I hope for their sake that's not final CGI. And then they should convert into a video game."
+Allan Gomez Mainly because the movie didn't give the audience any reason to care about the story or chracters whatsoever. Sure the effects were great but to me the action was terrible. I had no reason to be invested into the action and because of this I was bored through out the entire movie.
13:32 I wouldn't actually blame the director for this one. This guy is the director of The Crow, Dark City and I, robot, Prime examples of big budget genre flicks done right. The real people to blame here are the screenwriters *Sazama and Sharpless* the "geniuses" behind Dracula untold and The Last Witch hunter and you can really see the similarities with those films and this. Atrocious CG, horrible pacing that glances over any redeeming characters and plot, Corny acting, and major sequel bating even though nobody wanted to see more past the first 5 seconds. Awful, Awful writers, the worst in the business today.
I am telling you, this is one of the worst movies I have ever seen and the worst I have personally seen on a theater. It is so amazingly bad. It fails in every single thing. I would forgive the movie if it had cool action but the action is so so so bad, especially the last fight and the fight with the goat soldiers (the cgi for the goat soldiers is worse than the jumanji cgi which came out on 1995). Last but not least I have never in my life seen cg grass and plants look so terrible. They could not even build a proper set with grass.
i actually liked it a lot, the plot was alright and beck didn't really seem interesting but how the world worked, the different gods and their roles, i liked that, well naturally i like the concept of gods fighting each other or seeing a battle of gods, and the cgi doesn't even look bad at all in my opinion, plus who wouldn't wanna see a battle in air between badass looking gods with armor of gold? remember, this is just my opinion and thoughts on the movie, i dont wanna receive any hate
I'm sorry, but one the controversy comes up, I'm out. I'm tired of race being injected into every little thing nowadays, and honesty I'm sick of it. It's about as annoying as that little kid who keeps poking you, no matter how many times you tell him to stop.
Brenton Thwaites who plays Beck (the mortal main character) is good in other movies. I liked him in Oculus, Son of a Gun, The Signal, and even The Giver, but I did not like his character or acting in Gods of Egypt. I didn't even realize it was him till I looked up the actors names when I reviewed this film as well.
theRIDDLEofSTEEL the story of set killing osiris and taking his throne and horus avenging his father and killing set. This has been part of Egyptian mythology for decades.
ok, that gold armor horus wears is power ranger material and is therefor unable to take seriously. say remember this one cartoon called "mummies alive"? kind of reminded me of that.
Movies have to realize that pouring money into an advertising campaign isn't going to make a shit movie not shit. I saw at least a dozen trailers for this stupid thing throughout the course of a week, and all it did was turn me off from the movie even more.
It is actually not in accurate for the movie protagonists to be white. If you were being completely pc, the actors should be Arabic and Eastern, not black. Second, it would not be outlandish for the protagonists to be white, as the Romans ruled Egypt for centuries and they were white.
+Jesus Gonzalez The Romans didn't rule for the majority of Egypt's history, and even when they did, the whiter parts of the society were the royalty, not the average Joes (Which is why Bek being white makes no sense) In addition, many Egyptian gods were inspired by and connected with gods from other African kingdoms of the time. Egypt didn't exist in a bubble, ever. They always had dealings with not just the nations around the Mediterranean, but also with the nations surrounding them in Africa. Egypt was never white and their gods aren't white. Hell, their gods were created long before the Romans ruled - in a time when Egypt was most definitely not predominantly light-skinned.
I watch some of the other youtubers review this movie said that the main character is like Aladdin, but this movie made it very Bad.Also My fav. Egyptian movie is Aladdin and The Prince of Egypt. ===================================================================================================== Funny Lines: Hollywood:Yeah u guys,DO U Know The Movie Aladdin? Other People:YEAH? Hollywood reading on a piece of script movie:Ok,we're gonna have the character just like Aladdin and have the story just like The Lion King,However instead of him fighting a Sneak and getting the princess; he'll gonna fight Egyptian Gods,Outsmart the Gods, and become the rightful God for his dad. Other people:OH...Will That Sounds Pretty Awesome,LET'S Do It. :) Hollywood:Awesome,Trust me u guys is gonna be EPIC! **The Day of its Release** Our first time watching that movie:O__O **Movie Over** Us:WHAT THE F**K WAS THAT SH*T,THAT I JUST WATCHED!!!!
Lets just have a live action of Prince of Egypt an actually good and accurate Egyptian story. WHOS WITH ME! Then again.............I don't want Hollywood to F*** that up too.
it actually isn't that bad, i saw it and liked it a lot, unless i just haven't seen action scenes in a while, the cgi doesn't even look bad either, looked pretty cool and grand, especially the armored eagles
I must say i'm pretty irritated by the beginning of your review. Sure, this movie is a big pile of sh*t, we certainly agree on that, but... a) In actual Egyptian mythology Seth DID kill his brother Osiris, hacked him into pieces and then ruled over Egypt. Osiris's son Horus then DID have to fight his uncle, won and then became the new king of Egypt. Sure, the film took some liberties in depicting this aspect of mythology, but in essence it got it right (one of the few things it got right). Making it seem as if it were a lazy Lion King or Hamlet ripoff is unfair, since this story is about 4500 years older than the ones you're comparing it to. b) Bek is an actual ancient Egyptian name. So while there were many things wrong with this character, the name was something the filmmakers indeed got right. So why bringing this up (you said it yourself, it's insignificant)??? That said, the rest of your review is pretty spot-on.
A) It is correct, however in actual Egyptian mythology, Horus isn't even born when Set kills Osiris. Seeing as how the movie made Horus already born when this happens and is banished, this is a lazy Lion King ripoff. If they showed Horus not being born and Horus's mom (Isis, goddess of magic) fleeing and giving birth to Horus somewhere else and told Horus what Set did, then this wouldn't be a Lion King ripoff. B) Yeah you're right.
Random Nerdy Fan How can you say that that one thing makes it a Lion King ripoff? Simba didn't care about what happened to the Pride Lands or getting revenge, mostly because he blamed himself. Horus was focused on revenge the whole time, the only reason he didn't act sooner was because he couldn't see. Besides, where is the Ra, Apophis or Zaya in LK, and where is Mufasa in GOE? Are there similarities? Yes, but I challenge you to find one completely original story. Lion King is a loose portrayal of Hamlet, which is probably loosely based on the myth of Horus and Set
Horus wasn't the god of the underworld. He was the God of Egypt, the national god who was considered to be the king of the gods. And Sebet was a Goddess in the myth. It would have made sense to put the Goddess of venom and stealth as a villain, but they fucked up with the gender. I suppose I should be happy though, they could have objectified the Goddess, something Smite has yet to do for her.
+Ditto, Master of Disguise Sebet is the one that become Sekhmet the lion right? Or am I misking her for another god. I know theres one that becomes a bloodthirsty lion goddess.
Hi Tony, just want to say I love watching your videos and I think they are spot on. However, I've noticed that since I started watching you about three years ago that your cursing has really been high lately. I'm not here to tell you how to live your life, but as a viewer I just wanted to let you know that excessive cursing is jarring and takes me out of the experience of the video. You can do whatever you want, but viewing these videos have become less enjoyable by the excessive amounts of cursing imo. That being said, I still enjoy your videos and hope for the best for your channel. Take Care!
+Jason Hamilton sorry you feel that way man. I only curse alot during rants, I try to refrain from cursing to the best of my ability in usual reviews. But i'll work more at it buddy. thanks for watching my vids!
+BlackCriticGuy You use the word "shit" a lot when referring a terrible movie/TV series or anime or character. I noticed that so much as of late, that you must saying it like 20+ times in your videos.
- Why Gods of Egypt is Actually Worth Seeing. Conscious Movie Review - Gods of Egypt is the Hollywood movie that literally every mainstream critic is bashing and claiming to be "the epitome of everything wrong with big-budget movie making today." Yet, in the chaos of all the hate, I for one choose to take a stand to be a voice for the deeper esoteric conscious themes that this movie is actually about... th-cam.com/video/rBcBZVaSTho/w-d-xo.html
This movie was crap, the story was un-original and lacked it's own personality. The acting was bad from everyone. The trailer was cheesy&cliche so I should've saw it coming, I thought I would give it a chance. Never again. Never. Overall I cried because I wasted my money 😭😭😭
blackcriticguy I love your review bro I swear to God I can't watch one episode of your review without laughing I appreciate what you do bro and I am fairly new to your channel and I would love to see you do a review on ONE PIECE or FAIRY TAIL I'm your biggest supporter bro
i like you bcg, but for gods sake, just because egypt is in africa doesnt make the original egyptians black , blacks came from centeal africa, i would say africa was a mix of arabic peoples, african peoples, and people from caucasia (mind you people from caucasia does not mean white)
+Qrillian Creative Team Not really, they were neither white nor black - they were actually red (like native Americans) - and unless they're going to hire native Americans (or Coptic Egyptians) to play as the AE, its just as racially insensitive as having whites play blacks. Uniquely, although predominantly a red skinned, and incestuous family, most Pharaohs were born via concubines, and a fair few of the pharaohs from the mid 2nd millennium, to the Persian invasion, were depicted within their tombs as black. one of the few more notable ancient Egyptian pharaoh 's to be black was Thutmosis III, who also allied the Nubians (african tribes in modern Sudan [naturally very dark skinned]) to his kingdom. With the Ptolemies, they were all white ( a legacy of incest and Greek blood) - however they did follow the old gods. However the lack of diversity is startling, a good 1/3 of Egypts population was made up by Nubian's, and they weren't slaves either; very few caucasians lived in egypt, even during the Ptolemy and later Roman periods. With most of north Africa, it was largely Caucasian from the 10th century BC until 2nd century BC, as the Carthaginians, Greeks and Phoenicians had wiped out most of the native African tribes - it was only with the genocides led by the Romans against the Carthaginian Empire, that north Africa become predominantly black. One of the few places to be predominantly black during this period was the ancestors of the present day Morrocans and Algerians, as they never fell to asia minor's 'colonists'.
The story isn’t a rip off of the lion king, it’s literally an Egyptian myth.
Yeah it was mean
You do know that The Lion King story is inspired by the original Osiris myth from Ancient Egyptian lore, right?
Jono Karagiannis - Son Of Zeus, Demigod Of Justice Thought it was from Hamlet, Macbeth, Chimes at Midnight, and Sundiata Keita. You just blew my mind
lion king is inspired from hamlet dude, now hamlet i dont know

As soon as I finished watching the trailer I said "Nope" and decided to watch Prince of Egypt again

Oh Ra no! They ruined Thoth, my favorite Egyptian god.
One 1️⃣ of the creatures on the right poster looks like Jar Jar Binks
Gods of 300. Yeah, because King Leonidas was there in the film.
Guys... this is actually apart of egyptian lore... and did you know The Lion King was a remake of Hamlet? :| Nothing is completely original. The only thing original is the stories made by the old humans long ago. Like with greek mythology and what not.
+MikazukiNomiko THANK YOU!
Apparently though the Egyptian Mythology is poorly represented (according to recent views on it). Which I don't see as a really big deal as it's trying to be a big fantasy epic. Look at what Marvel has done with Thor. Odin himself says "We are not gods. We're born, we live, we die...just as the humans do."
Now if the intent was to accurately represent Egyptian Idols, then yeah this is an EPIC failure.
+Archangel Otaku Yeah I totally agree with you there. But I know they made some of it a little bit accurate by what i've heard. Like with the whole Horrus losing his eye thing. I haven't seen the movie yet so I should probably wait to form my own opinions.
The fact that Set and Horus have human heads is probably one of the biggest hiccups. Probably for the best; there's too much CGI to begin with.
+MikazukiNomiko looks like someone didnt see the entire reviewwwwwwww :P :P :P
To be honest, I kinda enjoyed this Movie.
I'm not saying it's amazing or anything.
But I had a good time with it.
Me too..I dont get all the hate
Majesty guess that makes two of us x-D
"Me too..I dont get all the hate"
Well that's why you're not a critic, most people now a days can't tell Flaming Yon from toilet swill.
Mckenzie .Latham K
so just saw it, knowing it would be shit (trailers are surprisingly accurate) and kinda enjoyed it. basically it 's Jupiter ascending but goes down the corny/cheesy route instead of serious(and there's no eddie redmayne level character) and much more enjoyable because of it. also the cgi was decent for the most part though it was so overused
edit: if you "enjoy" movie like batman and robin then this is a good choice
That man is probably one of the best film composers, without a doubt. He can make a not-so-great movie sound incredibly epic.
I totally agree about The Prince of Egypt. In fact, it's one of the best animated movies out there and is way too underrated. It's amazing!
CureMewPeach I certainly agree! It's definitely one of the best I've ever seen. Right on top with Studio Ghibli :3
I love when he screams BORING !!!!!!!! and WRONGGG!! 😂😂😂😂😂😂
Well said. Worst movie 2016
darn it the trailers made it looks so good >
How?
How? This looked like a pile of shit from the very start
I like to call this one, "CGI: The Movie".
+Ellis “Not a Fanboy” Lamai he was joking
It is literally full CGI with no set.
11:55-12:07
That's like me playing games like God of War when I screw up and retry the level again.
I love your new video quality. Taking a page from Jeremy Jahns.
You never mentioned the snakes
Seriously Hollywood won't learn from this. They spam CGI for many years in their movies and don't care about it. It isn't anymore to make something special/unique. That's just how lazy the business has become. It's all about earning easy money with a movie. CGI is fast and easy and together with a mediocre plot it's the perfect combo.
+Manganime At least there's still good movies that do that stuff. Gods Of Egypt was just another bad example.
+Alex Ramirez yeah true. But I just want that they just took their time to make great movies except with a longer period of time. That's why most older movies are considered masterpieces.
Akazoku Sozo some older movies were bad too you know like Batman and Robin or Superman The Quest for Peace
They should've done more research then they would've known the actual story.
My favourite movies set in Egypt: The first 2 Mummy movies.
Ok these are sort of guilty pleasures but they truly gave the sense of adventure when i watched it and there aren't really many great Egyptian-themed movies to choose from.
at least we got deadpool this month...
like I said, the alien is already gone. And also Hi
not anymore
R.I.P all the Leo not having an Oscar memes
The first time I saw the trailer for this movie, I thought that it was fancy video game for the vast majority of it. At the end, I was "Oh, it's a movie???? Wow, it looks terrible. Plus, why are they super-super white? Also, it looks terrible. I hope for their sake that's not final CGI. And then they should convert into a video game."
Best quote from the movie:
"...Ah." -That forgettable sun guy
"move on hollywood, we've changed, you need to change too." couldn't have said it better. great video man
Some how this movie made $150 million.
Tony, I'm preparing to suffer through this movie myself later this week. Please pray for me.
Good luck.
+Alex Meyer *salutes*
Thank you both of you. Wish me luck.
this vid had an ad for Japanese RWBY merc. Google is starting to scare me.
Beck sounds like a mega Man tribute character of a mediocre video game.
With a lot of missed potentials and poor management from Keiji Inafumi, the art designer of Megaman aka NOT the creator of Megaman.
Trigger warning
4:30
My thoughts on Mad Max.
why?
+Allan Gomez Mainly because the movie didn't give the audience any reason to care about the story or chracters whatsoever. Sure the effects were great but to me the action was terrible. I had no reason to be invested into the action and because of this I was bored through out the entire movie.
+Protagonist Also, my thoughts on Gurren Lagann, Black Lagoon, Sword Art Online, and Soul Eater.
Too bad he threw a tantrum on social media. -_-
"Gods of Egypt" Reminds me of the Egyptian god cards in YGO.....
+PredakingXHunter X A cheaper version of the Egyptian gods cards from Yu-gi-oh*
SteveTheDruid So what you're saying is that Yugioh did a better job with the gods than this? Is that bad?
+AshXXMayftw If race wasn't an issue people would stop bring it up. Unfortunately we don't live in that fantasy world.
+AshXXMayftw If race wasn't an issue people would stop bring it up. Unfortunately we don't live in that fantasy world.
So true
oh waah waah Im tired of people bringing up race cuz im a privileged being and I don't care about poc's feelings. waaaaah.
Well it's a problem so it has to be brought up whenever it's warranted
Tony why no anime reviews recently?
+Peyton Capper i'd keep my eyes open this week ;P
+BlackCriticGuy will you ever be doing revisited anime/movie reviews?
The way I look at the trailer. I already know this "Movie" is shit. Try watching Prince of Egypt instead. That's actually good movie about Egypt.
What movie does he think is the worst this year?
Norm of the North
Thanks, I just was wondering
Anyone have thoughts on how a envisioning of this movie would make his better?
Hey Tony what game system do you have
+Giggukarda Guy dont have any right now sadly
The Lion King is kinda based on Hamlet
hamlet was based on this story. pretty neat how time recycles stories.
The actual story is just like that .like lion king.
theRIDDLEofSTEEL the story of set killing osiris and taking his throne and horus avenging his father and killing set. This has been part of Egyptian mythology for decades.
What's wrong having a CGI?
+Bob Lobos (Lockdown1214) BCG don't like CGI, that's why he's so dumb.
Hey tony I noticed you been delayed on movies for awhile, what's wrong
+Dark End lots of stuff this week haha
No more slow motion action scenes, "speed ramping", "bullet time" and "shakey cam" in movies please Hollywood.
ok, that gold armor horus wears is power ranger material and is therefor unable to take seriously. say remember this one cartoon called "mummies alive"? kind of reminded me of that.
My brother, you watched this shit? I'm so sorry.
I kinda saw the writing on the wall with the trailer. My immediate thought was, "Boy this looks like spunkgargleweewee."
ay! just how I like my jokes...
with zero punctuation
what is the worst movie this year?
we just have to wait.
Find a media on Ancient Egyptian History.
+Jesus Gonzalez The Romans didn't rule for the majority of Egypt's history, and even when they did, the whiter parts of the society were the royalty, not the average Joes (Which is why Bek being white makes no sense)
In addition, many Egyptian gods were inspired by and connected with gods from other African kingdoms of the time.
Jesus Gonzalez no they should be black
They should have bronze skin
I watch some of the other youtubers review this movie said that the main character is like Aladdin, but this movie made it very Bad.Also My fav. Egyptian movie is Aladdin and The Prince of Egypt.
=====================================================================================================
Funny Lines:
Hollywood:Yeah u guys,DO U Know The Movie Aladdin?
Other People:YEAH?
Hollywood reading on a piece of script movie:Ok,we're gonna have the character just like Aladdin and have the story just like The Lion King,However instead of him fighting a Sneak and getting the princess; he'll gonna fight Egyptian Gods,Outsmart the Gods, and become the rightful God for his dad.
Other people:OH...Will That Sounds Pretty Awesome,LET'S Do It. :)
Hollywood:Awesome,Trust me u guys is gonna be EPIC!
**The Day of its Release**
Our first time watching that movie:O__O

Lets just have a live action of Prince of Egypt an actually good and accurate Egyptian story. WHOS WITH ME! Then again.............I don't want Hollywood to F*** that up too.

"Gods of Egypt is a mess!"
+Worth Carlin Robot! What are you doing here?
it looks like you convinced me NOT to see this movie, Tony-senpai.
the movie is one of my favorite movies
top 3 i love
1.maze runner
2.gods of egypt
3.exodus
The trailer fooled me. At the very least I thought this could be a decent action movie but I should have known better this is a February release lol
Good luck that Osiris learned to make great drinks with Tom Cruise...
0:00-0:21
God - Because I wanted to fuck with you my son since you wanted Leo to win that Oscar so badly.
I knew from the trailer that this movie was gonna be another Legend of Hercules.
You actual the myth was lion King before lion King weird
I rather watch..(sigh)..I can't believe that I'm saying this. I rather watch 300 than Gods of Egypt.
Yes this story was GARBAGE 🗑
HAHAHA!!! The "confusion" with Lion King was funny.
I liked the prince of Egypt =)
I always love your rants
Tony was the movie really that bad?
it actually isn't that bad, i saw it and liked it a lot, unless i just haven't seen action scenes in a while, the cgi doesn't even look bad either, looked pretty cool and grand, especially the armored eagles
That bad huh? Not even Leonidas and Jaime Lannister could save it?
Black nerd comedy
Black critic guy
Whats next?
Let's be honest, did anyone for a second think this didn't look awful?
+durchhalter Set is given a negative portrayal in Gods of Egypt.
drew6874
That's correct, but then this deity had a pretty bad image in ancient Egypt as well, so...
~ "Prince of Egypt" by far my favorite movie based in Egypt! 😆
Aye! ^_^
Love the music in it. Deliver us hits me in the feels every time.
+Archangel Otaku Right!!! That soundtrack is actually life. 😂
+YukiMe
Especially with the Song, "Through Heaven's Eyes".
How is it February and the worst film of the year has already come out?? I feel like I can't go to the movies anymore.
well the worst animated film of the year came out the last month so.....yeah this is gonna be a LONG YEAR
+ironmaster64 cries ugly tears
Prince of Egypt, period.
I can't believe shit visuals is a thing now
The trailer did the exact opposite of what it was trying to do for me.
***** Not saying its a bad thing, but I hear it often? Hey do you watch AngryJoe? Or Nostalgia Critic?
Man. I totally laughed so hard all the way on that rant. You really are the best ;).
- Why Gods of Egypt is Actually Worth Seeing. Conscious Movie Review -
Gods of Egypt is the Hollywood movie that literally every mainstream critic is bashing and claiming to be "the epitome of everything wrong with big-budget movie making today." Yet, in the chaos of all the hate, I for one choose to take a stand to be a voice for the deeper esoteric conscious themes that this movie is actually about...
th-cam.com/video/rBcBZVaSTho/w-d-xo.html
This movie was crap, the story was un-original and lacked it's own personality. The acting was bad from everyone. The trailer was cheesy&cliche so I should've saw it coming, I thought I would give it a chance. Never again. Never. Overall I cried because I wasted my money 😭😭😭
blackcriticguy I love your review bro I swear to God I can't watch one episode of your review without laughing I appreciate what you do bro and I am fairly new to your channel and I would love to see you do a review on ONE PIECE or FAIRY TAIL I'm your biggest supporter bro
i like you bcg, but for gods sake, just because egypt is in africa doesnt make the original egyptians black , blacks came from centeal africa, i would say africa was a mix of arabic peoples, african peoples, and people from caucasia (mind you people from caucasia does not mean white)
egypt was*
+Qrillian Creative Team
Not really, they were neither white nor black - they were actually red (like native Americans) - and unless they're going to hire native Americans (or Coptic Egyptians) to play as the AE, its just as racially insensitive as having whites play blacks.
I totally died of laughter during your rant :D
