The name ur looking for this equipment is Very high frequency Omnidirectional Radial (more commonly known as VOR in the aviation world) and not all aircraft that take-off from JKIA pass here, instead most of the landing aircrafts transit through this point. Take-off's are mostly performed through a GPS route designed by the aviation authority and they are known as Standard Instrument Departure (SID) or a set of routing using the same airway points for the take off transit.. similar to something known as Radio Navigation (R-Nav) used during the arrival transit to jkia. This equipment is more commonly used by aircraft operating in and out of wilson Airport as a VOR is a good navigating tool which can provide you precise directional information and in this case, the distance from the equipment too. There's a similar equipmehnt like this towards the south west (just after Athi River) known as Stony or TV and another one just at JKIA itself known as NAVEX or NV all being used by mostly aircraft on transit or landing and for take off aircraft mostly transit through the GPS positioned airway points (its a designated point that has been programmed through GPS's in the air/sky without having any ground based connection or equipment its solely an air to air connection kind of thing and not this ground based equipment (in this case, the VOR you are referring to) that is an air to ground connection aircraft use.

Awesome
The information is great
Well done.
One day opting to be there
Beautiful
Thank you! Cheers!
Everyday you learn something didn't know this where all planes pick their flight path.
Downloaded 👍
its because thats where the NDB is located
This is so great
Thank you for watching
