In the exchange of letters between Noelle and Walter Lord, she reports that a year after the sinking she was dining out in New York City and a sense of cold and intense horror came over her. It turns out the orchestra at the New York Dinner was playing a selection from 'Tales of Hoffman', wh. was among the final selections played by Titanic's orchestra after dinner on April 14th 1912.
