Was it just me or did the last Pic of the handheld coffee looked way better without the lens! You clearly can see the distortion on the wider pic, the Tele pix on the otherhand were awesome.
The portrait mode looks great with these lenses but it looks like the software left large portions of some of the pics in focus actually. I'm sure they'll tighten this up over time.
Since you can adapt the blurry later and even chose a focus point you can always adjust this. But yes I think they'll still be tighten the software up a lil!
Part of the reason why it looks more fake is because moment lenses block the other camera which is 2x zoom. They’re giving up the computational depth effect coming from 2 cameras. I don’t think this is a good utilization of portrait mode.
The lens trips up the AI because it’s it’s designed for the native focal length (plus using the tele lens for more accurate mapping). Regardless you can get really cool looks with the lenses too.
Could be the phone not recognising background elements *as* background elements and trying to integrate it into the foreground? Software bokeh, eh, it's why I never really use Live Focus on my Samsung except as a fun gimmick. Edit: that said, loads of phones having ToF sensors working alongside the cameras gives me hope that the tech will improve sooner rather than later.

Though, Pixel still doesn't fully utilize it's tele lens because it doesn't even use it for Portrait shots, it just crops in. In the reviews, the tele lens looks bad in quality, very soft.

You should feel great even without this video! You have features no other phone has like the live transcription, faster Assistant, HDR Live, plus the exclusive Pixel features like the now playing feature, call screening and the ability to have your assistant make an appt for you. Great purchase, I'm getting one soon myself from the S10+

Google's AI based zoom might get better shots on pixel 4 rather than using 58mm due to this problem. I am assuming the telelens is used for portrait and zoom photos which will be blocked by moment lens. I hate this video so much for the fact that they didn't bother to mention this problem. The pixel 4 and 4 XL doesn't come with an ultra wide, which lens do you recommend the most to substitute that lens? Super fish or wide 18mm? Super fish is more of what we found on smartphones this days isn't it?

Been watching all the old vids when the app was free, so was a surprise when i tried to get it and play around to make sure it work on my phone before i bought the lenses. Extra: Plus the amount of complaints on android store about the app not working right.

Does this still work well? When I tried this recently with the wide angle lens on my Pixel 4XL, in all the portrait shots one side gets blurred and the other side doesn't. I later realised this was because the portrait mode uses the Pixel's 2nd lens as well to figure out the depth, and the wide angle lens attachment was blocking it and messing with the blurring.

According to our product team, from some quick testing, it looks like Apple's portrait mode uses two lenses by default, but if you cover up the secondary lens, then it switches to single-lens portrait mode. So yes! You will be able to use Moment lenses with all the new iPhones 🎉🎉🎉
