The classy piano, the swelling violins, the constant calls back to the main motif with enough variation and excellent pacing to make me smile everytime I hear it. Rush. I'm FLOORED. 1:10 w the lonely/haunting solo melody line, then... the part following 1:22 is one of my favorite compositional sections I've heard all year. Seriously, the soft left hand chords and the floaty melody, then with the strings coming in 😍. It's like the wind picks up or something. The reharmonization is gorgeous (as always), signature runs at 2:16 sound very much like your style... then 2:26, the upright bass+strings+piano sways in a way that's just delicately on-balance. I don't know how to say this. You have such a magical touch w/ everything, and this reinterpretation in particular really resonates with me.
I like all the improvisation in this orchestration. So incredible, I can't even imagine the effort they put into this. The amount of talent Rush has is unbelievable!
Change is a bittersweet experience, how you are suddenly in a spot where you are given a choice, to become a better and stronger version of yourself. Yet at times you feel unsure if this path you're taking is the one you should be in. If anything, it really is just a leap of faith, and a bravery of the soul and heart. If everything feels too heavy to move then take it one step at a time. I'm gonna miss who I am today, but I'm also welcoming the person I will be in the future. This applies to all of us, and every single decision we make. thx for the wonderful music you make Rush, it never stops to comfort a lot of us through our daily endeavors. I am thankful you are here when I need to relax and think.
