In regards to some of the comments about HQ, a decent amount of people in the MTG community on TH-cam don't care for him. His success is derived from constantly throwing money at his channel and begging for subs/attention. If you'd like to know more, you can contact myself or some of the bigger content creators in the MTG community (Themanasource would be good to talk to) and I'm sure they'd be willing to share their HQ experiences with you. It just sucks seeing someone like yourself (who is fun loving and all about helping others), being associated with someone whose only goal is to be at the top, no matter what the cost.

I used to love playing Magic. Haven't played for years since I live in China I can't get access to most of the new sets, but I will tell you this--watching this unboxing makes me miss it that much more. When I get back to the US I'm going to start playing again! Thanks Boogie for a great video!

Hi Boogie. I just started playing magic. I got a couple of Fate reforged packets and one came with Warden of the First Tree. That was exciting to see you be into a mythic I have. I feel I dunno connected, like bonding over a common hobby.
I was wondering though, do you have any advice for players just starting out? You should really do a video on beginner advice, or maybe just advice you've got from having played for 20 years. I'd really love to hear what you have to say about getting into Magic, and the do's and don'ts of it. Honestly, I'd just love to see more Magic content from you other than unboxings. Watching your videos and meeting my co-worker who's into Magic all helped me get into it.
I'm not much of an expert myself, but I have been playing casually for a few years. I'd advise getting duals of the planes walkers on any device you're able to and starting with that to really learn the basics and fundamentals, and then pay a visit to your local game store and figure out when drafts take place and start doing that. You'll build a fairly decent little collection just doing that and will start really understanding the game all the while getting to know people at your LGS and making some magic friends 😊 good luck 😊

I'm new to Magic and I'm considering picking up a deckbuilder's toolkit. Should I buy a Fate Reforged Fat Pack to go with it or can I build a strong deck with just the toolkit? Thanks!
17:30 - just realized Silumgar is pretty much an FU to Elspeth...She's six mana, he's six mana and can come out after your opponent taps out to play Elspeth. The 3 toughness while puny, is meant to dodge Elspeth's -2 ability...the whenever this creature attacks is to kill off Elspeth's army tokens...hexproof vs. a spell heavy Elspeth deck...put in that context, could be a nice sideboard card.
This is the problem with magic you need so many boxes, at £80 each that's £240. 2 boxes at £160 and you still won't always get enough lands to play some of the cards.
I preordered one of these for a draft I'm hosting next weekend... I haven't played mtg in probably 10 years, but a few friends were talking about getting back into it and I thought a draft would be the best way.
I think im the complete opposite; Khans i thought was great (and didn't have too many totally junk rares) whereas Fate Reforged might not be as up there on the power and value scale.

you say that some cards aren't standard worthy, what does that mean? I am new to magic. I know that standard is what they play in tournaments and its restricted to the current sets that are in circulation or something like that but I don't really know.
I don't play magic much I do appreciate the artwork on the cards a lot though. The dragons look real cool in this set.

I'm not really interested in card-games, but it's nice to just listen to what boogie has to say. All though, I must admint, the way you don't stack them properly, but just carelessely lay the cards on top of each other, really tickled my OCD senses.

I can't watch these as much as I want to for fear of getting back into MTG. I had a bad addiction to that game and spent an unhealthy amount of money on it. I still have some of my best decks though. Good times.

I share boogie's dislike of Khans and enjoyment of Fate Reforged. But I guess, at least from what I've heard from the murmurs of the card shop and various forums, most people seem to think exactly the opposite. Not really sure why.

Maaaaan, I wish I could afford to buy that many booster boxes (or have a sponsor, of course). I did go to the prerelease, though. It was fun. I got Alesha, Who Smiles At Death as my special promo, which is cool. She was the one I specifically wanted.
I went to a casual league match last night. Did not do to well. I bought a pack on a whim and did your "punish the pack" deal. Cracked it and went right to the rare, Soulfire Grand Master. I might be convinced of this technique. Love the box opening videos.
Very nice box, yet nowhere near the money value a box of Khans could give at release, which is the reason I bought a Khans box and I won't buy a Fate Reforged one... You mentioned doing pre-releases, did you find any alternate art Ugins?
I bought a Magic pack when I was very young. Back when Pokemon just came out. I don't have a clue how it's played and won't play it, but I like watching Boogie open the packs.
Sandsteppe Mastodon is another tool for the format dominating Abzan and Sidisi whip decks. Turns those satyrs into 6/6 as early as turn 4. +5/5 to anything else later on. Great card.
I've been wondering about this, if you had 2 flamerush rider and another flamerush rider could you copy the other flamerush rider and make infinite flamerush riders?
You should cut some of these unboxings into big reactions when you get something good, because when you read off the cards it's like Chinese to me. I don't know what's good or bad or anything, but a "reactions" video when you pull something amazing would be cool to see.

I haven't been into playing card games since my Yu-Gi-Oh days when I was younger, but I do find games like Magic: The Gathering intriguing.
Torrent Elemental is actually very strong. If you're running a deck with a lot of Delve in it, you can very easily Exile him to put him back into play. I had it happen against me a couple times. Not to mention you basically force an opponent to either attack every turn or have their creatures do nothing at all outside of abilities.
Call me dumb but this is why I like hearthstone...tap this when in exodus tap 4 green or blue for ability opponent gets to keep 2 go into your discard pick up your worst...blah

I love watching unboxing vids a couple weeks after the release, that way I can laugh at how wrong their predictions were and came to be. Regardless Boogie, you the man! keep it up!
boogie, what clan did you choose at the prerelease? at my first prerelease event at a game store I went to around here in TN and I got some good cards out of it though I went 0-4 but being a player just trying to improve, it's to be expected against a ton of players who have played the game for 10 or more years

can you mix and match cards from any set when you commence a game or are there incompatible cards in different sets ? Also how does it work for player's starting hand ? is here a points value system for each card so all players start with an fair and equally weighted hand ? I'll laugh my head off if boogie gets an utra rare card and goes nuts ... lolz
Tasigur is actually amazing in modern in grixis twin, delver, and just plain old grixis control and in the sideboard of most normal u/r splinter twin decks.
Is it just me or is Ugin easier to get then most planes walkers? I've seen a good number of people at my hobby store, including myself, pull him in the pre release.
He prices seems over hyped to, he's good, just not god like.
I actually pulled a warden in a fatpack. I got $4, and used it to get kolaghan and silmunger. Mythic well spent. I just need dromoka to complete the rare dragon cycle!

Crux of fate: It says what the art is on the card. Read the flavor text. It's there for the specific reason of telling you something about the lore.

How much so you guys pay for booster boxes? In my area there's a store that sells them for 100 (foreign boxes at the same price which is awesome) and a store that sells them for 110.
We have theses tournaments every Friday we draft khans every Friday till a new pack comes for da tournament it's annoying drafting khans

The art on Crux of fate is the battele between Nicol Bolas and Ugin thousands of years ago, where Bolas kills Ugin.

Did you know that ugin is the exact opposite of nicol bolas planeswalker?
by the way, i pulled 2 foil ugins a few days ago and a normal non foil one
Nothing beats the excitement of opening booster packs, I used to buy them half to collect them and half to enjoy the feeling of getting that sought after card.
The art is ugin fighting bolas. The other shit is death magic happening. That's where the destroy factor comes from.

Hey boogie, just so you are aware there will be ten commons in most packs but there will be nine commons if you pulled a foil in that pack.
