That Doesn't Mean His Gay Because He Don't Fell In Love Like The Rest Of The Males To Alexis. Do U Know A Woman Will Get Attracted To U Because U Don't Validate Her Like The Rest Of Males Wanted To Get Her. Alpha Male Tactics Just Look Into It
While not immediately striking me as gay, I remember finding how jarringly fast and close he and Jesse became as friends, being literally introduced as late as S3 and Jaden proceeding to risk his life for him that very season.
@@prometheusvenom7189 yeah, after they died, but he didn’t care enough to keep them out of the danger in the first place, he threw them all at risk for Jessie out of no where 😁
@@Scumner Well, I mean Alexis was interested in him first, then you have Blair who was smitten with him after they dueled and I also think Jaden and Jesse only see each other as friends.
I do like the idea of Jaden being pan because gender clearly doesn’t affect who he decides to be close with. I think there’s enough innuendos to assume the writers were implying something with him and Jesse. With Yubel I think they fused because of Jaden sense of responsibility over what happened to her. That dynamic was so strange but caring to me watching as a kid at the time.
Jaiden is pretty ambiguous but Jessie, or Johan as he's known in the original... I mean he's a European who wear's frilly clothes and has a rainbow themed deck, the only way they could make it less subtle is but having him make out with another dude on screen
GX gets a lot of bed rep but for me is an amazing series. We got to know about so many characters and their complexities. Easilly my favourite after season 0.
Well the difference with the way how Jaden treats Jessie can be seen in an another aspect. Even though,Jaden sees Syrus and Hassalberry as his best friends they always treat him like god unlike Jessie who treats him like a human being, which for the wealth being of Jaden is much better. Also with Alexis turning into evil is kinda different because Jaden had nothing to do with it.On the other hand the entire Yubel thing was his fault(or at least he sees it tha way).I see your point but there are also counter arguments
That still doesn't change the fact that Judai/Jaden cares way more about Johan/Jesse than any of his other friends (including Asuka/Alexis) and it would be weirder Judai/Jaden cared about Johan/Jesse the most just because of "friendship," especially that Judai/Jaden have known his other friends a lot longer more than he knew Johan/Jesse.
fr tho i absolutely love how they didn't make the "hot headed, cheerful rebel" protagonist trope into a womanizer which usually goes with it, and they instead did the opposite - making jay uninterested and oblivious to the concept of straight relationships.
In my opinion, it's hard to find a definitive answer considering Yugioh is infamous for it's intense bromances. The first of many examples that comes to mind is Yuma with Shark and Kaito. With Shark, who Yuma had only known as the school bully who broke his most prized possession, he was willing to take massive risks to ensure he wouldn't throw his life away. In the WDC, Yuma was willing to get himself possessed by Shark Drake Veiss to save Shark, and he couldn't choose between him and Astral (for context, choosing Shark would have guaranteed Astral's demise). Tron even says something akin to "Your friend is suffering in your place." And that's just the first half of Zexal. And then there's Kaito, who up until a certain point, Yuma had only known as a bounty hunter who had tried to "kill" him and take his Numbers away. Yuma was still willing to help him rescue his brother, and insisted they had a bond of sorts. And when Kaito couldn't bring himself to duel anymore, Yuma and Astral gave him a reason to keep going. All of this and more, and Yuma still ended up with Kotori. Now, I'm not saying Judai is definitively straight or bi or pan, or any of the sort. Because the subtext with Johan is undoubtedly there, and there are certainly many ways to interpret that. I'm merely saying that it's open to interpretation for me, especially considering how Yugioh has done bromances and similarly strong platonic relationships across their series.
I would say Yuma is probably bi, because while he ends up with Kotori in the anime, he ends with Astral in the manga. And while they are different continuities, Yuma really doesn't change his character in either version
@@galaxyjaam039 They are basically the same character and even in the anime where he ends with Kotori (sorta), the thing they are doing in the first place is trying to go and find Astral and help him
Yes. There is no doubt in my mind. Nobody goes to another dimension to save a friend and is that Desperate to find them. Unless they truly feel like family to you.
Ok, since this seems a good moment to Say this, being objective here about Johan: 1) His "biggest desire" is Judai, as seen in season 4 2) His ace monster is a rainbow 3) For some goddamn reason Crystal beast support usually arrives in June (Pride month) 4) The Japanese sub is very specific about how there is a "special" friendship between him and Judai and Yubel uses the word "love" when talking about Judai's interest in his friend (altough love isn't just about couples. In literature there are lots of loves, like family and friends for example) Considering this, and how Judai also acts during season 3 and 4, I have my conclusion: I am one of the people that say "If it hasn't been directly confirmed, there would never be "enough" evidence to conclude something about a character in a series. It's either fully confirmed or a theory", but these 2 are pretty sus, not gonna lie. Like, REALLY sus
Jaden will eventually marry Alexis in Wedding Duels Part 1 and Wedding Duels Part 2. Changing her name to Alexis Yuki. Jaden and Alexis will celebrate their first wedding anniversary in Jaden gets Brave. Alexis becomes a little sister(-in-law) to Jeffrey later on in the series.
Yeah, especially for the time there were a lot of things that probably would not have flown in a kids show. I feel their queer coding is rather obvious in hindsight.
Whatever the answer is, it doesn’t change that Jaden is a great character at best it adds something or it doesn’t take away, so it’s a win no matter who you slice it. I quite like this notion of the character and just feels right for his vibe in a way that I can’t quite fully understand. He’s not the only YGO protag that I’ve seen as LGBTQ+, I do think it’s quite possible that Yusaku from Vrains is Ace but it may just come off that way because of his stoic Personality, trauma and general communication and people skills, (this isn’t me saying that Ace or Aro people are emotionally void or stunted btw) or it’s just the trope of the guy not being interested. Either way, I still love my boys, no matter how their heart works
I think he's either gay or bi. Whenever people say, "Oh, but it was brotherly with Johan!", what they either don't realize (or just choose to ignore) is just how much physical chemistry as well as how well they get along was present in their scenes together. They've touched more than once and make it look very natural and casual, and the way they communicate and just how intense Judai could get in terms of voice tone and whatnot in regards to Johan speaks volumes. Meanwhile, there are scenes with Asuka and Rei where Judai will just look downright uncomfortable. Of course, just having no chemistry with them doesn't necessarily mean he's only into guys. Yeah, there's the grave keeper thing to consider, but it's not so much that as that he just wasn't really interested in any girl that way on the show because he wasn't attracted to them as people, that's all. Even the Tagforce game descriptions of Judai don't exactly make him out as hoping to date girls. The fact is that if Johan had been a girl, a bunch more people would be clamoring that Judai was into him. Likewise, turn Asuka into a guy (or maybe even just deflate her chest a bit lol) and probably close to nobody would even give a care about her with Judai. Xd
@Keurgui1 All those english dub lines are fake, you know. He never hit on her. Not that it really matters since even Konami has been pushing the death of this ship with all this Yubel stuff of "Eternal Favorite", "Eternal Bond". I'm sorry, but Jaden didn't even realize girls have different anatomy with how he failed to understand that he had to turn around while she hid her spirit key under her shirt in the original version. People are really in denial about Jaden with thinking he will be getting together with their big-chested waifu for their projection ship.
@@raina1848 He hit on her in the sub jackass. Just because a character is oblivious to the idea of being In romantic relationships doesn’t mean they’re queer coded Ship whoever you want but there is no subtext indicating that he’s gay whatsoever
@@Keurgui1That was just a joke line. I would have taken it more seriously if he had, idk, done ANYTHING else. And the name-calling just reminded me why I started to hate this ship. Because a lot of you who like it are very mean.
@@raina1848 sorry I was just having a bad day. Idrgaf about ships I just don’t think there’s enough evidence to say he’s queer outside of just headcanon The truth is shonen protags just aren’t written to have romantic interests first and foremost cause their themes are more about strength rather than vulnerability
I believe he doesn't knows what he is. Jaden/Judai because of his tragic backstory never understood the concept of friendship or what a friend was. He can only observe and adapt. And while he thought he understood it was only until season 3 for him to finally understand what a "friend" was through Johan/Jesse. And that's just him understanding friendship. That's why in season 3 he was so desperate to find him in that horrible dimension, because Jessi/Johan was the first of anything that was meaningful and real to him. And let's stack that on top with Jessi/Johan being somewhat of a role model for Jaden as well since he was the first person to make him question what he wants to do in the long term in terms of dual monsters. And just like Johan/Jesse, didn't wanted to travel the world and communicate and help those in need with dual spirits. Johan/Jesse was also a regular leader unlike Jaden who was pushed into a leadership position and he was never comfortable with it. He hasn't gone as far as romantic relationships yet, he finally matured in season 4 and went off on his journey. Thus leaving it ambiguous for who he would fall for in the future.... Or anyone at all. There's plenty to argue with for both Jesse and Alexis. #1 Jesse/Johan was the first person that was meaningful to Jaden. Gave him a lot of strength and inspiration to the point it set his character development into overdrive. Only problem is Jesse hasn't expressed any romantic feelings for him. #2 Alexis is the polar opposite, where she has expressed feelings and is already a hinted shipping for him, and she was the first person to break Jaden out of his survival mode state and made him realize that "hey I can still plays card games for the sake of having fun again" Second only to Yugi himself. (and with Yu-Gi-Oh that's a big deal) Season 4 was essentially the season he finally figures out what friendship is. Any development from here on it would have to get romantic.... GX is a coming-of-age story. When Jaden matured he left on his journey. So it's intentionally ambiguous.
As an young gay man, seeing Jaden and Jesse be so close and sweet to each other as a teen made me feel so much more open about myself. Seeing this level of vulnerability Jaden was able to show to Jesse was heartwarming and honestly, it was the first time I’ve ever got to see such representation on TV. So in any case, it’s probably left a lot of positive impact on a lot of young teens struggling to find and accept themselves for who they are 🩷
People harp on about how straight men need to be comfortable forming close friendships with each other, but whenever it's depicted on screen people argue that the characters are gay. No wonder men avoid them.
@@kamikazehound3243 Do you mean that unironically? If yes, then tell me why? All I see is an amazing story that got robbed of its amazing openings by 4kids, which put out of place comedy, changed the names of native Japanese characters to American names and censored any scenes that would be suited for the Japanese target audience. One Piece fanbase handles 4kids way better than the YuGiOh one, which for some reason is apologetic to it.
I definitely thought Jaden was in love with Jessie as a kid even though I didn’t even know what lgbt was at the time. But, looking back on the series, I still believe Jaden loves Jessie. They're kind of like twin flames or soulmates. However, I never saw Yubel and Jaden's relationship as romantic nor do I think Jaden is pan. Yubel and Jaden had a complicated relationship. Though I wouldn't say it's purely platonic, there's very little to no romantic love within it. It's very similar to Atem and Yugi's relationship from the original series or Astral and Yuma's relationship from Zexal (which is obviously yugioh's favourite trope).
People forget that Jaden also got himself a somewhat pharaoh boyfriend in that one episode lol. He wasn't against it either. He just asked the pharaoh if he could wait 100 years for him.
No. Jaden is just reversed. He blushed around certain women throughout the series. Like when Gravekeeper's Assassin held him against the wall. His face turned red. And also, when he saw Dark Magician Girl and several other different women before. He would smile and blush. He's respectful. I say he's Asexual or he's Demisexual. He's not really a horn dog or a love-struck kind of guy. He's in love with dueling, and if he does like a girl, he will take his time to get to know her.
I definitely see where it's going but as many times as I've watched this anime I've never got that feeling. I always thought they had more of a "Two sides of the same coin thing" like almost twins. Like they are almost the exact same tbh
I cannot lie , i think im getting the vibes something with son goku from dragon ball , in the case that goku isnt really romantically interested in people and didnt even know the concept of marriage and a wedding , as he really only married chi chi because of a promise ,but he really does care for her , even perhaps romantically as he does think about her when hes away fighting and he became furious when informed of goku blacks murder of chi chi and goten , hes not like romantically invested into a women but is probably attracted through prolonged time with them
As someone who literally just finished watching GX, I felt that Jaden was very fond of Alexis but not in a way that was particularly romantic. It felt more like mutual respect. I also felt he was similarly very fond of Syrus. There’s funny lines where Syrus is jealous like the clip you showed but it’s overall very platonic/brotherly. But Jaden is downright OBSESSED with Jesse pretty much from the moment he meets him. To me it was a stark contrast, almost out of character from his normal laid back personality. You can still interpret it as a close friendship but it felt much more like a crush/infatuation. Also I’d say regardless of that, Jaden is still definitely lgbt+ because of Yubel. Their relationship is pretty explicitly romantic so as far as I’m concerned Jaden is not straight.
I mean in the dub Syrus and Chumley ask if he has any “card crushes” to which he replies that he has a few (i.e. more than one) in his deck, so you’re definitely right. But also iirc at the time the only female monster he’d been shown to have was Burstinatrix so….personally my money’s on Elemental Hero Avian also being one lol
I feel Jaden was just niece to romantic feelings throughout the show, and just kinda brushed off any romantic interest because hes just independent minded, in Alexis' case he seemed to really catch on and knew how she really felt about him in season 4 but of course she never confessed so he just kinda went on his way like he did. That being said what you've pointed out in this video still stands lol Jadens my favorite protagonist brw
@@Scumner If only she had just confessed, we would have a definitive answer lmao, but either way Jaden shows a lot of personal growth throughout the series and it's pretty profound
Honestly the best answer is he's too naive to be in love with someone he could be when he's truly found himself if that makes sense but for his story I think it only makes sense for him to start falling in love with somebody when he's in his late twenties or so at least that's what I think
Never though about it, but I can buy it. Most of the protagonists had a very clear love interest, even if nothing ever came of it (*cough Yusei and Akiza cough*), but I can’t say the same for Jaden.
I mean, there's also the fact that Yubel as a human, seems to obviously have been a male originally, so theres actually a track record on who Judai (in essence) is attracted to. While they might look androgynous at first glance, simply comparing the official concept art of their body compared to the young supreme king shows a DEFINITE resemblance to a male body compared to how they depict young female bodies. (Not to mentuon Yubel only possessed boys and was threatened by Johan instead of the two girls canonically in love with Judai). So Judai and Yubel were already two males with romantic feelings, with the sub outright professing their love for each other. So in the end, it's still a toss up if Jaden would be pan if he had feelings for Yubel, since he would have seen Yubel as male beforehand but GX really preached gay rights since the stone age
Glad this video showed up on my feed , happy to say I believe Jaden/Judai is Pan due his way of love shown through the 3 characters in this video ❤️ Couldn’t agree more
Short answer: no. Long answer: Jaden Yuki is not a lover of any kind. He's a duelist, and he said this himself when Bob Banter starts chasing him to get some more relationship advice: "I'm a duelist! Not a lover!"
The only ones who think h's straight are dub watchers or dropped the series early. Once you get to Johan/Jesse he becomes as gay as a blackwing player (me, a blackwing player)
Personally I think Jaden is just naive and not really interested in whole romance situation. Jaden even reminds me of goku which both love drill challenge, friend with short guy who tend to be weak, both doesn't have real romance interest, both were confused about some concept of marriage at certain degree, both became corrupted more than once by outside force, both aren't school smart, both travel to space, both were able to change their main rivals to point of being friends, even use fusion with their once enemy (vegeta/yubel), and there even more. 😉
Yeah I also interpreted this and thought it was really interesting tbh, I don't see a lot of people talking about this so thanks for making this video dude ignore the hate
Simply, we cannot decide what he is, 'cause there's not fact. Doesn't have interest for one girl and have a lot of chemistry for a man, doesn't mean you're gay.
Yep, definitely pan. 👏 Also, I’d love more Yu-Gi-Oh discussions. Especially character analyses such as this one diving into potential hidden meanings or implications with characters.
My answer is no, not canonically, but nothing wrong with viewing him as such. Personally I kind of see him as asexual. The idea of romance isn't really something on Jaden's radar, he just enjoys having fun and cherishes his friends equally. Like in a sense, he loves them all but really only platonically. I do hope that makes sense.
if I have to make a guess, i think Jaden is very much pan. I know he was oblivious to Alexis's love but I remember he still found Dark Magician Girl "cute" in the series as well. I think pan seems the most likely!
I always ship Jaden and Alexis i watch s1 to s4 and i have never think Jaden is gay in my entire life! and how the hell did this pop out in my recommendation?! Lmao
No. Stop trying to force this stuff. If Japan produces something and they want you to know the character is on the spectrum, it will be obvious. Take Persona 2’a protag, Tatsuya. In the game and the anime, it is very very clear that he is bisexual and confused. There is no wondering they make it pretty obvious, especially at the end.
I think Jaden and Jesse is simply a strong friendly relationship of two persons alike, with Yubel I think is more a family-like thing although I'll admit this one is more ambiguous
He quickly bonds with Jessie because he’s the only other person that understands how he feels. There’s no romance. It’s not even much of a bromance. They know what it’s like to be in each others shoes.
Yeah Jaden is def gay. In his bio in Tag Force, it specifically said he doesn’t understand it nor show interest in girls if they ever have a crush on him. There’s also the scene in the sub where he’s asked if he has any card crushes, to which he responds that he has a few. For context his whole deck is filled with muscular men besides like one card. Queer coded!
-Syrus treats Jaden as a God and Tyrano do It as a comander or some militar shit. Maybe Jaden was happy to have someone who treats him as a friend and someone who share things like can see duel spirits (The only one before was Chazz but he is a world apart) -We can not confirm the one that transform into Yubel was a kid or a girl, but if It is like that, Jaden dont love Yubel as a couple instead as a very special one. -About Asuka, sometimes is difficult to acept but GX was a very big adversiment to sell cards, and maybe the investors wants a cliché shonen main, just as you said. In the last season maybe a relationship between both of them wasn't the best way to keep using Jaden in future projects. They took a long time to give a girlfriend to a main character, and Yuma still being the only one after all these years.
I think a better question is if Cy and huckleberry are gay for him. There was literally an episode or two of them not only fighting over his affection but str8 up fantasizing about him. _No, IM Jaiden's number 1!_
Loved the analysis, I could see where you would be able to interpret Judai's coding. I personally can't get behind Judai/Yubel. Despite YGO being all about giving villains second chances/redemption arcs I take umbrage with letting those people get off scott free which is what everyone apparently did with Yubel. BUT!!! But I respect differences in opinion over fictional characters, so if that ship makes people happy then I hope they get the indulgences they want.
Im actually really glad someone made a video about this. Ive been in love with jaden since 2009 and ive always shipped him and jesse. Its too obvoiuse and i was dissapointed in season 4 we didnt get a proper goodbye between them like alexis got. Or even casual time without the danger stuff going on. Anyways, im just happy someone made a video at least pointing out that jaden does love jesse despite his not understanding it. Jaden litteratly went to hell and back for him. And even became king of hell while he was at it. If that doesnt mean you cant live your life without that person then i clearly dont understand that arc. I like to think since yubel has been jelouse of jaden and jesse's closeness in season 3 and had been in both of thier minds, that she knows they are in love with eachother and teases jaden about it. Maybe she can explain or confirm things about thier relationship to jaden. At least make sure jaden sees it. She is much more joking in season 4, so i like to think she would tease jaden about it. Or hint at it at least. Anyways, great video! Keep it up! I love jaden anaylisis videos!
As a shonen protagonist, he is Fight-sexual. Or in Yu-Gi-Oh's case, Duel-sexual. Dude just wants a challenge, and that's a level of satisfaction that you can't put a ring on.
I really liked this. It was well thought out and your points do make sense. While if that turned out to be the case, I wouldn’t be upset at all. However, my only counterpoint is that Jaden/Judai is a Yugioh protagonist and usually no matter how much the main female gives the male protagonist the goo goo eyes and says “I can’t live without you” the protagonist always chooses dueling over love.
Not so! Yugi clearly had interest in Tea, and although Yu-Gi-Oh! takes up 99% of his time he never actively rejects her. Yusei and Akiza clearly have a thing, Yuma and Tori do, along with Yuya and Yuzu. Not saying you’re wrong, but there is room for romance and dueling in the show, even if only a tiny bit.
@@Scumner That true too. I’m not saying your wrong at all either. While there is clearly chemistry between characters and some romance, we have yet to see a series where the Male protagonist gets with a girl and they become a couple for the entire series. Often times it seems their heart belongs to dueling than relationships.
@@Scumner While I would not be angry or upset it it turned out Jaden was into guys, I would happen to think he had strong chemistry with Jesse because they were very alike being able to see and hear Duel spirits. I know Chazz could too, but he wanted almost nothing to do with Jaden half the time while Jesse was open arms of making new friends. Again not trying to ruin your theory or prove you wrong. Just wanted to give a few facts.
Yeah because it’s weird every protagonist has their own FL even Yugi and Yusei. But Judai doesn’t. There’s no romance between him and female character of the main group. Unless Yubel is his FL even though it’s a monster but since he fuses with Yubel. I just don’t want to think to much into it.
I remember watching DM and GX as a kid, i know those are extremely different series specially if you go to the original source the original Yugioh manga and the japanese version of the GX anime (yeah i know GX has a manga but it came after the anime) in my opinion, when i was a kid i always looked at Yugi and Tea´s relationship and despite the many censorships and yugioh not having the best romantic development, i could see Tea and Yugi having a close bond that could developed into romantic relationship.... but when i watched GX i thought Alexis´s feelings for jaden were there but jaden never took them seriously. part of that could be the fact jaden never understood social cues really well due to being a very lonely child, but oh well he only ever saw Alexis the same way he saw syrus, or tyranno, god i would even go as far to say he had more chemistry with Chazz than with Alexis. But Jesse clearly mean´t more to jaden than his other friends. and honestly if jesse was a female character people would be outright saying they´re couple
Jaden isnt gay. He doesnt even know what marriage is. A male can lo e another male without it being gay. Especially in olden times. Jadens love for yubel is also not gay. The prince jaden was loved his friend. I remember telling my best friend i loved him as a little boy. Having love for someone isnt sexuality.
Yeah his relationship with Jesse is very gay. But the reason Jesse shows up in season 3 and suddenly becomes Jaden's closest companion? To sell Crystal Beast cards 😅 Well, I thought it was kind of hokey, but it seems to have helped a lot of gay guys growing up come to terms with their sexuality.
That can be said of all characters and all decks, they didn’t need to do that to sell Crystal Beasts. They could have made him a rival or done any number of things
To be honest, I came here for yubel to be rightfully known as non binary because of their history and people wanting to believe they are female to fit their mindset that it builds a better relationship in jaiden but seeing this made me see jaiden in a new light and I love the idea of him being pan
Yeah main characters in kids shows aren't interested in sexuality because its a KIDS show, characters on kids shows aren't written to be gay or straight. The fact that it needs to be explained says a lot about you "yass queens", not everything needs a rainbow retcon find something else to sexualize besides animated little boys
A) I’m not gay 🤷🏻♀️ B) Showing a gay man doesn’t make it sexual cartoon C) There are clearly heterosexual couples and romances in the show, is that too sexual for you too? Should all romance be removed?
Oh please, Judai is very gay. Him and Johan clearly had something going on. Also, glad I found your channel! I really think there is a lack of enjoyable Yu-Gi-Oh TH-camrs.
Very well explained! I see your opinion and I always thought that Jesse and Jaden have a special relationship (even through my first watch through I felt the tension). I see Jaden more as gay, because Yubel seems to be a boy in their past life, but I'm fine with pan too. My conclusion on Jaden is that he is not straight and that's it xD
bro this is yugioh there is no romance it not suprising to see the man character doesnt interrest on girls yugi had no interrest on tea during the entire show she were just a friend it doesnt makes him gay
Yugi DID have interest in Tea, it's more clear in the manga, but still present in the early anime. Yusei and Akiza have plenty of moments, as do Yuya and Yuzu. Like I said in the video, there's no NEED to agree with me, but that doesn't invalidate my own interpretation. So you interpret Jaden to be asexual? Cool!
@@Scumner it has nothing to do with sexual orientation jaden would do the same thing he does for jesse if it was syrus or alexia having a friend stock in an other dimention and doing everything to bring him back is not suprising in yugioh athem was complitetly crazy when he lost yugi sool to the oricalc seal so my question to you is athem gay as well? Yusei and akiza had their momment but at the end nothing romantic that is what yugioh is, what jaden did for jesse he would do it for any of his friend if they were stock in a dimention espacialy if he thinks it his faute

@@siafabavogui5955 I never said Jaden didn't help his friends, I said the way he went about it felt romantically coded. He's saved Syrus plenty of times, but it never felt like the show depicted it in the same way.
I always thought he was just naive and oblivious thats what i took it mostly as. Granted Jaden is likely kidding but he mentions several times over the dub he's not the most book smart guy so i wonder if if he didnt know what a Fiance was. Jaden is seen sleeping in class most of the time this cant be something he just picked up when arriving at duel academy so i wonder did he do the same thing in his other schools affecting his schooling. As for Jesse he's literally supposed to be another Jaden so i always thought that was a big reason they connected so well. Yubel's view of love is a little warped to say the least and does Yubel know about other bonds or just the bond Yubel had with the supreme king so not knowing friendship exists as the only relationship Yubel has was with the Supreme King. As for getting Jesse back Jaden is likely still suffering from the arc with the duel ghouls so still being emotionally distrouht he's not thinking and looks to right his wrong to an extreme degree especially since Jaden didn't really free them Jesse did. Rainbow Dragon was responsible for opening the portal and keeping it stable for getting them out.
I'm actually a strong proponent of Jaden being Pansexual. There's a lot of evidence that suggest that Jaden is indeed pan. Jaden interest on ♀️:There is actually a scene in season 1 before Rise of the sacred beast arc when Jaden got teleported into gravekeeper dimension. There is one seen when gravekeeper assailant push Jaden to the wall and he blush a little bit. It's not conclusive but in anime if an opposite sex do some physical thing to you and you blush. It usually mean you have romantic affinity with said character. Jaden interest on ♂️: You talk about it already with Jesse. Jaden interest in Non Binary: So yeah Jaden and Yubel relationship in season 4 can be described as old married couples. They both being snarky with each other, while at the same time also caring one another. And also surprisingly Jaden and Yubel one of the few canonical couple in Yu-Gi-Oh franchise not counting the parents character. The only other couples are Orbital 7 And Lilibot. And i guess maybe Romin and Luke (not confirm but pretty likely).

I do like the idea of Jaden being pan because gender clearly doesn’t affect who he decides to be close with. That dynamic was so strange but caring to me watching as a kid at the time.

Yeah obviously there are arguments against but here's my argument for, glad you actually listened and thought about your own opinions! :D
I see those as further evidence, of course he’d fall for the first friend who saw him as a human being!
fr tho i absolutely love how they didn't make the "hot headed, cheerful rebel" protagonist trope into a womanizer which usually goes with it, and they instead did the opposite - making jay uninterested and oblivious to the concept of straight relationships.
It’s fun isn’t it
In my opinion, it's hard to find a definitive answer considering Yugioh is infamous for it's intense bromances.
Yup!
I would say Yuma is probably bi, because while he ends up with Kotori in the anime, he ends with Astral in the manga. And while they are different continuities, Yuma really doesn't change his character in either version
@toony1232 isn't the manga different from the anime? Thus yuma from the manga is different from the yuma from the anime
@@galaxyjaam039 They are basically the same character and even in the anime where he ends with Kotori (sorta), the thing they are doing in the first place is trying to go and find Astral and help him

Ok, since this seems a good moment to Say this, being objective here about Johan:
1) His "biggest desire" is Judai, as seen in season 4
2) His ace monster is a rainbow
3) For some goddamn reason Crystal beast support usually arrives in June (Pride month)
4) The Japanese sub is very specific about how there is a "special" friendship between him and Judai and Yubel uses the word "love" when talking about Judai's interest in his friend (altough love isn't just about couples. In literature there are lots of loves, like family and friends for example)
Considering this, and how Judai also acts during season 3 and 4, I have my conclusion:
I am one of the people that say "If it hasn't been directly confirmed, there would never be "enough" evidence to conclude something about a character in a series. It's either fully confirmed or a theory", but these 2 are pretty sus, not gonna lie. Like, REALLY sus

100% everything I wanted to convey with this video
Xd

(and with Yu-Gi-Oh that's a big deal)
Season 4 was essentially the season he finally figures out what friendship is. Any development from here on it would have to get romantic.... GX is a coming-of-age story. When Jaden matured he left on his journey.
So it's intentionally ambiguous.
Cool interpretation 😊

As an young gay man, seeing Jaden and Jesse be so close and sweet to each other as a teen made me feel so much more open about myself. Seeing this level of vulnerability Jaden was able to show to Jesse was heartwarming and honestly, it was the first time I’ve ever got to see such representation on TV. So in any case, it’s probably left a lot of positive impact on a lot of young teens struggling to find and accept themselves for who they are 🩷
You should watch the subbed version. Many gay scenes were censored in that horrible 4kids version.
@laranjamecanica9588 4kids censorship is legendary 🤣🤣

TRUE
Nah man, jaiden is card sexual. He REALLY loves his elemental hero cards
You can interpret him like that if you choose

By ur stupid definition zoro and luffy from one piece are gay? Cuz they are close and they don't show much interest in women.

Simply, we cannot decide what he is, 'cause there's not fact. Doesn't have interest for one girl and have a lot of chemistry for a man, doesn't mean you're gay.

-Syrus treats Jaden as a God and Tyrano do It as a comander or some militar shit. Maybe Jaden was happy to have someone who treats him as a friend and someone who share things like can see duel spirits (The only one before was Chazz but he is a world apart)
-We can not confirm the one that transform into Yubel was a kid or a girl, but if It is like that, Jaden dont love Yubel as a couple instead as a very special one.
-About Asuka, sometimes is difficult to acept but GX was a very big adversiment to sell cards, and maybe the investors wants a cliché shonen main, just as you said. In the last season maybe a relationship between both of them wasn't the best way to keep using Jaden in future projects.

I really liked this. It was well thought out and your points do make sense. While if that turned out to be the case, I wouldn’t be upset at all. I just don’t want to think to much into it.
Jaden loves his cards. Not people
That’s one interpretation
Was literally telling a friend of mine that Jaden was gay the other day, then this video pops up in my feed. I swear our phones are listening to us.
No just me 🥰
I remember watching DM and GX as a kid, i know those are extremely different series specially if you go to the original source the original Yugioh manga and the japanese version of the GX anime (yeah i know GX has a manga but it came after the anime) in my opinion, when i was a kid i always looked at Yugi and Tea´s relationship and despite the many censorships and yugioh not having the best romantic development, i could see Tea and Yugi having a close bond that could developed into romantic relationship.... but when i watched GX i thought Alexis´s feelings for jaden were there but jaden never took them seriously. part of that could be the fact jaden never understood social cues really well due to being a very lonely child, but oh well he only ever saw Alexis the same way he saw syrus, or tyranno, god i would even go as far to say he had more chemistry with Chazz than with Alexis. But Jesse clearly mean´t more to jaden than his other friends. and honestly if jesse was a female character people would be outright saying they´re couple
Jeez crazy how people seem to be hating on you but they're not even countering any of your points. I'm glad you're handling it well though
It’s all good! Didn’t expect anything else
I've not seen a single person so far who has challenged this notion?
people are so upset for pointing out the obvious, i doubt most of these people have even watched the sub.
Jesus Christ people wanna make everything gay so bad nowadays it’s not like Alexis was the clear love interest in the show.
Yet he rejects her in series 4? 🤷🏻♀️
I always figured that Jayden was ACE. 🤷♀
Could be! I don’t think he’s aromantic though
He’s in love with dueling, an airhead , and knows a homie that can duel . Now a days we can’t be there for our boys without being called gay ? GTFO
No need to be rude 😁
For real lol. This guy is reachin just want to promote 🌈
if he only wanted to just duel he wouldnt risk his life to save jesse
Jaden isnt gay. He doesnt even know what marriage is. A male can lo e another male without it being gay. Especially in olden times. Jadens love for yubel is also not gay. The prince jaden was loved his friend. I remember telling my best friend i loved him as a little boy. Having love for someone isnt sexuality.
It can be! 😁
He has a crush on Alexis Rhodes, ya nincompoop
He didn’t though 🤷🏻♀️
He gay and loves Jesse but then his past old boyfriend, Yubel, got jealous
Ayy
The answers is yes, evrey yugioh protagonists is gay. No exaptions.
Based
Introducing Yuya sakaki and Yuma! The protagonist who obviously aren’t gay
The important questions MUST be made
I just came back to Yugioh with downloading Duel Links and playing the DS games, and this is the first shit on my recommended.
Glad you found the video :)
To be honest, I came here for yubel to be rightfully known as non binary because of their history and people wanting to believe they are female to fit their mindset that it builds a better relationship in jaiden but seeing this made me see jaiden in a new light and I love the idea of him being pan
That means everything to me! :D
Thx for ruining Jaden for me 😭
Why’s he ruined?
Yeah main characters in kids shows aren't interested in sexuality because its a KIDS show, characters on kids shows aren't written to be gay or straight. The fact that it needs to be explained says a lot about you "yass queens", not everything needs a rainbow retcon find something else to sexualize besides animated little boys
A) I’m not gay 🤷🏻♀️
B) Showing a gay man doesn’t make it sexual cartoon
C) There are clearly heterosexual couples and romances in the show, is that too sexual for you too? Should all romance be removed?
Oh please, Judai is very gay. Him and Johan clearly had something going on.
Also, glad I found your channel! I really think there is a lack of enjoyable Yu-Gi-Oh TH-camrs.
Thank you 🥰
Period 👌👌👌
Very well explained! I see your opinion and I always thought that Jesse and Jaden have a special relationship (even through my first watch through I felt the tension). I see Jaden more as gay, because Yubel seems to be a boy in their past life, but I'm fine with pan too. My conclusion on Jaden is that he is not straight and that's it xD
Exactly what I think 😂 Whatever it is, it ain’t straight!
bro this is yugioh there is no romance it not suprising to see the man character doesnt interrest on girls yugi had no interrest on tea during the entire show she were just a friend it doesnt makes him gay
@@siafabavogui5955 As I said, I gave my reasons, you're welcome to disagree with them! That's the beauty of media analysis.
@@Scumner also do not forget when alexis was in trouble jayden to took the rick to play a shadow game for her and he did the same for izidor alixis brother he did the same when jinzo capture studrnts sools as well he was ready to risk his own sool for them
@@siafabavogui5955 I never said Jaden didn't help his friends, I said the way he went about it felt romantically coded. He's saved Syrus plenty of times, but it never felt like the show depicted it in the same way.
I definitely think that Judai/Jaden is homoromantic pansexual now!
Also, I need to say that this became one of my favorite videos on TH-cam too!
Homie hasn’t heard of platonic relationships
Oh I have. I gave multiple examples of them in this video 😊
Yeah like I say you don’t have to agree ❤
Even as a kid I always saw Jaden as being queer and rewatching gx for the 100th time, he's just like me fr!!! /pos
He did not seem heterosexual that’s for sure
Soooo glad I wasn't the only one to pick up on bbt sub having judai getting mad over specifically Johans ace monster being stolen and perverted.
Yeah! It was telling
Jaden interest on ♂️:
You talk about it already with Jesse.
Jaden interest in Non Binary:
So yeah Jaden and Yubel relationship in season 4 can be described as old married couples.
Thanks for the support 😊
Jaden is gay?
Absolutely but i would say that he prefers his cards before any human... as every duelist should do
