For the people complaining about people who are commenting negatively... Stop saying they are just shouting to make the horse go faster, screaming scares the horse and that's why they go faster. We don't like people scaring horses! And really they just need to train the horse off their leg and ask the horse to go respectfully, not scream and whip it. Stop complaining about people complaining about horse racing and no other aspect of riding, we see the negatives in other aspects too but the topic is horse racing and that's what we stick to. Stop saying if the horses didn't want to they wouldn't do it, I know of many horses that have hated something and done it just to please their rider. The jockey doesn't know how to take a cross, it's a wonder he didn't fall off out of the starting gate, the jockey on the grey had a cross, that is the correct way to ride a racehorse. Especially out of the starting gate. If you don't know what I'm talking about, you don't know horse racing. But it was funny since no one was hurt.
you would have been scared if you were on a racehorse capable of killing you that has problems with loading. this horse looked young and fresh to the track so it would obviously have problems with the gate. personally i would be scared and you would too xx
The bit at the start where they forced the horse into the box is absolutely repulsive. The horse clearly associates the start box with pain, but they force it into the box like some kind of object. It's an animal, with free will. Not a slave to earn you money and do your bidding.

Jellybean Thy wolf just want to point out, we don't necessarily feel it when someone touches our hair, but we certainly would if someone yanked it. Horses may have a lower sensitivity in that area but they can still feel it and therefore at minimum it would be uncomfortable for them.
